Gosh was a bad night for most of us then!
I really do think Laurens is teething though, she is really dribbly which kinda looks funny on a toddler, they look to old to dribble lol!
A big hit in this house is her Fisher Price teaset. Laurens plays for hours with hers. I fill the teapot with water and she pours it into the little cups and then drinks from the little teacups. Its so cute! Another big hit is feeding her plastic animals pieces of bread or feeding her baby a bottle!
Today she has patted my boobs twice and said "baby", WTF, where on earth do these children learn such things lol!!

Eva loves making 'cups of tea' with her tea set too! She's also into puzzles, blocks, dolls and prams at present . We were determined not to encourage dolls, but she's quite keen on them at DC apparently so we got her one. She likes to feed them, change them and put them to bed. It's quite cute to watch. This morning her doll had to join us in the shower, as she was covered in weet-bix from breakfast!

I know what you mean Peachy, I can read some of Rex's books word for word without even looking at the pages!

I have to try and discourage books a bit otherwise C would have me reading to her all day long. Great for vocab but not for my time. Will be wonderful when she is keen enough to sit and look through books on her own. C will spend longer drawing with pencils and paper than anything else but she's a bit like Gabrielle Alyx and is keen to be doing anything that I am.
Peachy, C is really dribbly and I too have often thought it looks daft on a child her age
Sorry to hear that everyone has had a bad night - here's hoping it gets better for everyone tonight. C has formed a terrible habit since her tummy bug and now wakes the same time in the middle of the night crying. We no longer go into her, just leave her to winge and she goes back to sleep about half an hour later - I hope the habit can be reversed, she was such a good sleeper before.
There is a 24hr flu going around which is mostly just made up of a sudden fever, so hopefully a couple of the kids have had that and will be on the mend now.

Eva also loves drawing, but is terrible for drawing on EVERYTHING, so has to be really closely supervised. Often ends in me taking her crayons/felts off her
Eva loves books too, but is much more interested in the pictures, than listening to the story .
What are their fav books? Eva loves books with flaps or things she can move. Her current favs are;
- The Cat in the Hat Big Flap Book
- Cows in the Kitchen
-The Ladybird Goes Home

Oli loves his books too...Hungry Caterpillar is one of his faves, but he loves anything with flaps too! He also loves Hairy McLary ones - he always has! He has a lovely book called My Daddy - which he often brings to me to read!

Yep, pop ups and flaps here too. She is pretty good with pop ups now after a couple were destroyed early on
Her favs are -
- The Big Old Bear Who Swallowed a Fly
- the 'countdown' series of books which subtract a character each page and then have a pop up page at the end (Ten Tiny Tadpoles, Ten Chirpy Chicks etc)
- and she still adores those square books you got in the bounty packs on birth (we have 'puppies', 'baby animals', trucks, and 'kittens') - they were a fantastic free gift!

*hands up* yup not a great night from us either. B stirred and got up twice - about midnight and then 4am. I accidentally fell asleep with him in my arms in our bed and when I looked at the time it was closer to 5:30. This morning wasn't too bad, but this afternoon hasn't been that great. On the plus side, he did find my keys - and so he should, he's the one who hid them late last week.
Sheesh, all I feel like I do when I come on here is grumble, hopefully it won't be too much longer and I will have non-grumbly things to share............not it's not a hint that things have begun either

Babyg - what fantastic news about your friend and your niece on the way! It'll be lovely for Carys too, I imagine.
Sorry to hear about these rough nights! I hope everyone is better and sleeps well tonight.
HP was pretty good, although now I'm hanging out for the next installment. Tala woke up 10 mins before we got home and was very happy to see his nana, but also very sleepy so that was good. It's crazy how he'll sleep just fine when we're home doing nothing, but as soon as we go out he wakes up. It's like he knows there is someone fun to play with waiting in the lounge.
Tala loves to read all sorts of books. The other day I went into his room after his nap to find him with one arm around his 'Lamby' toy reading a book to it. So cute. He loves to play with little animals, dinosaurs, cars, trucks, his baby doll, duplo, puzzles, train set - you name it! He happily plays independently, though when I'm in the kitchen he'll pull stuff out of the cupboards or get spoons, bowls and things to join in.

Not an exciting day planned for us, off to the MW at 11.30, apart from that, lots of fluids and rest (yeah right) to try and battle off this cold I seem to have got
Blair doesn't seem to like to sit down and listen to a whole story, which is a shame as I'm a little bookworm. He does love pulling anything and everything out of cupboards, and the fridge if given half the chance. His favourite toy at the moment is a pull along dog that MIL picked up at the 1-2-3 dollar store last week

Kabe - Gabrielle draws on everything too - floor, walls, herself, anything - quite a pain but supervised she has lotsa fun with it. I wanna get a tea set now - that sounds so cute!
Same with the books MM - not able to sit and enjoy a story but she loves the pictures, Gosh there are lotsa book kids in here which is cool :) Gabrielle does love books just not in the conventional way - she loves to pull them all of the shelf lol and names everything she sees in the piccys.
MM its your due date tomorrow!!! Wow! I hope you feel better soon. Hope you get some time out and a good nights sleep before baby brother comes into the world :)
Posted some piccys in photo thread finally - they came out quite small though - also on FB

Eeeek happy due date MM - A was born on her due date so it does happen!
Hungry caterpillar and hairy maclary are popular here. She has had a long obsession with Oakey the bunny - and is seriously into Thomas the tank engine atm - those books are long and boring! My Mum and My Dad are popular too, and a great one called Starry Safari - it's out of print so if you see it 2nd hand or at the library, I highly recommend it.
Fingers crossed for better sleeping babes tonight.
Hiya yesnomayb - i'm another welly chick :-)

Welcome yesnomayb!
Well after today's dramas, I am looking forward to bed tonight! Had the arvo off while Mum looked after Lauren, so I decided to head into our business and help DH out! Have only just got home and thoroughly enjoyed the time out, albeit "working"! Was nice to chat to adults for the afternoon and got heaps of work done for DH, he is so busy and has barely been home all week. He's done 13 + hour days all week and is still there now
Heading to coffee group tomorrow and then Mum is having Lauren again for the arvo so I can have a break again. Its so hard when DH has to work such long hours as it means I get no help around here or with Lauren! Oh well looking forward to or family holiday in eeekkk 42 days!!

My friend (and DHs cousin) had her baby today!! A boy 9lb 4oz. Bit of a bummer, as she was supposed to be a girl so that Amy would have someone to play with... but a boy is cool too.
Am off to bed now, need a good nights sleep - getting very sick of babies waking me up...

Welcome yesnomayb - good luck with TTC #3!! How exciting, how old is your first child?
Happy due date tomorrow MM! Hope the cold magically disappears and converts to labour
I bet your DH was thrilled to have some help around work Peachy - watch out, he'll start to get used to it Where are you guys going on holiday?
Congrats on your friend's bubs arrival Bel! Was it actually supposed to be a girl or was that just wishful thinking on your part? Hope you get a better night out of your two tonight.

Thanks for you well wishes girls. Had my MW appointment yesterday, it was interesting listening to DH and her discussing when this bub will turn up. She is so convinced it won't be in the next couple of days that she has booked another appointment for next week. I keep telling Blair to pull rank and tell his brother that 1) he HAS to turn around - it's going to be easier on him and Mummy to come out and 2) there is heaps more room out here than there is in there.
I'll try to upload a couple of new pics this evening - including a bump pic taken today
