I have started doing this since the talk and Mac is heaps more "talkative" now then he was - Not sure if its that he is getting older or if its because I imitate. We had a good 5 - 7 minute "conversation" yesterday in the car. I just made every noise he made back to him. He seemed to really like it!
A crappy day here today! I have gone to coffee group and done all my jobs so am now going to do nothing for the rest of the day. I was hoping Mac's invites would have turned up today so that I could do them but rang work and they are not there.

Hi girls
Sorry I have been MIA but have been thinking of you all  . We're all shifted in & nearly unpacked. It has been quite a mission but we're here so that's the main thing. Liam has been quite clingy since we shifted - not sure if it's a phase or because he's still adjusting to the new house. I can barely leave him in the lounge with his toys while I go to the toilet  . Makes for one tired Mummy carrying him around all day  . I'm sure he'll come right again soon.
Very interesting info Peanut & Emz. I have been trying to say his sounds back to him too. We can have "conversations" too which is so cute . We've also been trying to cut down using no as well.
I can't believe our babies are nearly 1 either . No idea where the time has gone...
Hope you've managed to shake off your cold Anna but so cute of Jimmy to call Mum Mum from the door  . Liam really doesn't say Ma much at all. Mostly it's da da he says all day long .
Liam finally got his 4th tooth on the weekend. I'm so relieved because we could see it in his gum for ages & it really seemed to bother him.
I think that's enough waffling from me for now.

We've been doing the imitating thing now too and its made a huge difference - thanks for the info Peanut  Jack has now extended his vocab (in the last few days) to include dada and nana as well!
Appt went well, I have clomid to start taking next month if no success this month, then blood tests on CD21 each month. If not pg in 3 months, I get a higher dosage and poss the injections, so not too bad to start off with. The doc reckons it won't take much which is good. All in all pretty happy, and it only cost $80 as we kind of know him and I've given him a lot of business over the years lol
Glad the move went well Sally. Hope Liam gets over his phase. Annoying huh?!

Sal .. Issy was like that, it took her about a week to "settle" into her new environment.
Now she only grumps if we walk out of the lounge and shut the door (to keep the warmth in) .. so we just leave it open and let her follow us if she wants to come.

All the bubbas sound very talkative at the moment. The PAFT lady said once they can say approx 50 words then their spoken language progresses in leaps and bounds. Something to look forward to - but I'm wondering if Jimmy might just be one of those kids who never shuts up lol.
Glad the appointment went well Emz - everything sounds positive so far. No doubt you'll be up the duff ASAP  .
And good to hear the move went well Sally. Hopefully Liam settles as quickly as Issy  . He must be stoked to have all those empty boxes to play with.
I'm still off work sick, and think DH is coming down with it now too  . Jimmy must have a better immune system that both of us.
Our vege garden and fruit trees have had a major setback due to the wicked storm we've had over the past couple of days. Not sure if its a high dosage of salt spray or the horizontal hail showers that did the most damage. Heard there was a tornado in Chch somewhere? We had powercuts between 6am-12noon, then throughout the afternoon and then from 7.30pm until 7.30am today. So was an early night for us last night. Made me realise how unprepared we are for a major disaster ...hmmm.
The wee boy wants his kai, so cheerio for now
ETA - just added some more piccies to the photo gallery - our thread was threatening to drop off page 2 lol.

Anna, thanks for the b'day wishes. Sorry to hear you're still sick - must be some nasty bug you have there. Hopefully DH doesn't get it too. Last thing you need is a sick man in the house
Liam did seem better today so hopefully he's settling in nicely now.
Off to bed for me now I'm so knackered  . Catch you all tomorrow.

Well, I think I must have had the flu - only just feeling better now and still quite tired. DH is vainly fighting it off, but not feeling the best. Jimmy has been a bit croaky but seems generally OK touch wood. Ugh, being sick sux  . Sorry to moan - it has been great seeing so much of DH and Jimmy over the past week .
Yesterday we found this teeny tiny paddling pool for $2 at a market ... it's literally only just big enough for Jimmy to sit up in, but can be filled up to his chest. So he tried it out yesterday avo and loved it. Think he got a shock that the water was cold (I did put a little bit of hot water in as it was quite breezy outside) but had a grand time. He picked a white clover flower and played with it for ages, then next thing he ate it. Without chewing, and then powerchucked lots of milk into the pool - doh!
He's starting to *sing* along to songs, usually "dee dee dee" type sounds .. so cute . Going to make more of an effort to name objects etc for him now as he does understand quite a few already. Taught him "light" on Friday and now he keeps looking up at every meal, and loves it when we turn them on and off for him.
We were going to go visit the new foal just before (that mare we looked after only just gave birth on Friday night, 2 weeks overdue), but halfway down the drive it started pouring. So now Jimmy's sleeping instead. And I'd better stop procrastinating and get on with the dishes..

As we are having a combined party, we are having it at 2pm. Zoe can survive with only one sleep that day, might make her have a later sleep in the morning and more than 1 hour. Fingers crossed that the party will only go for a few hours

I had a nice day thanks Anna. The best part was the big sleep-in I got yesterday morning . Ahhh bliss.
I hope you're at the end of your flu now. The flu really sucks. I remember having it a few years ago & I literally thought I was going to die (it sure as heck felt like it). One "good" thing is that Jimmy hasn't caught it. *touches wood too*...
We're having Liam's party from 2-4pm. Good thinking on the sleeping Lisha. Hopefully Liam will have 1 sleep a bit earlier that day. I think the twins party was yesterday but I could be wrong?

Argh, I never thought about the sleep factor!
We are having a family lunch as we have no babies around us so not doing the kiddies thing, I guess it doesn't matter terribly if Jack isn't present for most of his party? Might have to reconsider that! I want everyone gone by about 4pm cos we're having drinks that night with our mates to celebrate surviving the year and that'll prob start about 7pm.

Hi All!
We had a busy weekend so haven't been on at all! Happy Birthday Sally! Pleased you got a sleep in!
I have a bloody cold at the mo so am feeling rather average. DH let me sleep in this morning so that was nice of him.
Mac's party on the thursday is at 3.30pm as its after school for the big kids. haven't put a finishinhg time on te invite tho but am guessing it will finish about 5-5.30ish and his one on the Sunday is at 2pm and again no finishing time but figure most people will leave about 5.30-6ish.
Anna, cool about the paddling pool. I brought one from The Warehouse for $10 for his stocking.
Well, must go, I am having a cup day lunch here tomorrow (any excuse for bubbles at lunch time) and have quiche in the oven. I love from thsi weekend until christmas so much socialising to be done!

It was the twins party on Sat and Im sure everyone else had a good time but I had a tummy bug so after cake and pressys I went to bed with a bucket.
Our party started a 2pm and our last guests left at 9.30pm which is really early for us but don't think anyone wanted to catch my bugs so escaped.

lol Emz, I'm starting to wonder if Jimmy might end up sleeping through his party too. Although he's lately started having his afternoon sleep from 12-2pm, so perhaps a 2pm start is a good idea. Argh, I'm so unorganised. Still haven't even decided who to invite let alone what to do!
Hope your cold isn't too bad Peanut. Yay for all the social events.
Felt like I was on fast-forward all day at work today trying to make up for last week. I'd just finished one thing then got told I had to complete this huge amount of work by the end of the week - gah, so regretting getting sick. Sally, I read your post about getting motivated at work - perhaps just ask your boss to give you some deadlines to work to each week/fortnight - a bit of extra pressure always keeps me motivated! I meant to reply to that post and say I found it really hard to do my *10 hours per week* from home earlier on - I think its so much easier to be more motivated when you're at work full time. I never did end up doing 10 hours per week .
Yay, toy library day tomorrow - Jimmy's been really bored with his toys lately and wants to go outside all day long. Better go clean last weeks toys and put them in the car.

Things are all good here although Liam has started standing up in his cot again when he's supposed to be napping. Drives me crazy so have pulled out the safety sleep again (not that it restrains him that well but is better than nothing). I'm sure it's just another phase...
Well typing is proving near impossible as Liam is obsessed with the laptop these days .
For those with babies who have more than 4 teeth just wondering what teeth we *should* be looking for after the 2 top & 2 bottom ones???

Peanut - The chart says he will get a boy ... the Jan Mummies all think its a girl ... and apparently the high heart rate confirms that lol. Id be happy with either (although a girl would be cheaper as I have girl stuff)

Mac got his bottom two and then the ones beside his middle top two and then his middle top two......but really don't think that is normal! So maybe its the two next to the top middle two?
Lilfatty - Well, thats alright then! . Mac's heart rate was really high the whole way thru and all the old wives tales etc pointed to a girl but alas no!
