Mmmm, mine smells yummy. Another random Crockpot Creation - 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, 1 jar of Kantong Thai Green Curry, 1 can coconut milk, some garum masala and cumin seeds and a bit of flour to thicken.

It was yummy! The kids loved it too, I think coz the coconut milk was a bit sweet. We ended up having it with pasta instead of rice on Maya's orders.
Nothing in the crockpot today tho, feeling blah and lazy. Will do some form of quick easy mince.

Today I actually used a recipe for once! [;p]
Making mutton hotpot coz stupid Willie bought yucky mutton chops. It's a layer of mutton chops, a sachet of mushroom soup mix, a layer of sliced potato and sliced onion and 1/2 cup water. I've mae it before in the oven but not in the crockpot.

The potato was yummy, but the chops were too fatty for me, not a big mutton chop fan.

Tuesday night i made Cassies Casserole out of Alison Holsts cookbook.
Sausages (put them into the slow cooker on low).
Then in a pan heat up
Baked Beans
Tin Chopped Tomatoes
2 unpeeled apples
onion
curry powder
Pour it over the sausages.
Slow cooked for 7hrs OMG it was sooo good.

Keep the ideas coming. I'm weirdly OCD about using recipes for things, so it's good to get people's ideas to use.

Mostly keen on using cheaper kinds of meat in the crockpot. Hate things with bones in (e.g. drumsticks, chops) for some reason. Am trying to eat red meat everyday at the mo cos of low iron (and I keep forgetting to get prescription for iron tabs when I'm at the MW!)

I've just finished reading my crock pot recipe book for the 10th time this week, I'm going to attempt making her Beef and Beer Casserole, theres also some really good meatloaf recipes in there.
Any one done Roast Chicken in their slow cooker before??? Any tips/advice.. I'm going to attempt it tomorrow.

I haven't tried it, but someone on here suggested adding a bit of soy sauce for color.

I do from time to time. I just put the whole chicken in and turn it on, no sauces or anything. It is usually so tender it falls apart when I try to take it out (yum) but lacks a bit of colour.

Funny you should ask, because I don't use it much. However today I popped some rice pudding in. I came home and wondered what the yummy smell was, and thought it must have been leftovers from lunch smelling better than I remembered. It took me about 1/2 hour to realise it was the crockpot.

Deez, I'm assuming it's too late for the gravy now but normally I just mix in the gravy powder to the juices, top it up with water and heat it up until it thickens (either microwave or pot).
Another option is to leave the juices settle in a jug until the fat separates and then pour off the fat. Then continue as above.

That's how my mum does it too Tishy, if she's done the roast in the oven she just whacks the roasting pan with the juices straight on the stovetop with a bit of Bisto. In our house tho gravy comes from a Continental "just add water" sachet
Moroccan lamb in ours today.
