Morning all
WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THIS TEMPERATURE ?!
Im freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing
milla must have woken up cold despite being in a full onesie with feet, wrapped, in a sleeping bag AND with a woolen blanket. She woke at 730 fed for maybe 5 minutes then fell asleep in our bed with the duvet over her.
pity with days like this is I'll prob dress her snug as a bug and then itl get hot this afternoon when we are out. GRR
Uni starts back today and Im sooooooo upset about it. I loved JUST doing the mum thing, now I actually have deadlines and cant just sit on my bum with a cuppa during her naps.
Felicity I take my hat off to you, no way could i have done it any earlier than this lol
Do we have a meetup tomorrow?

Lorna - cute cat names - Penny and Leonard from Big Bang Theory?
I tried to feed Seb watermelon yesterday. It stained EVERYTHING! haha more mess & carnage to come..
Crazy how cold 17 degrees feels after such a hot February! I'm wearing a long-sleeved merino top this morning

Cold starts and warm afternoons, means I'm now putting a singlet on Catherine under her pants and jackets/cardis.
Going to look at getting some merino singlets for the winter.
Think I'll change her sheets and put her fluffy ones back on.

Dalicia was a good sleeper again last night, woke at 3am for a good old chat, I didn't get up though so she was talking to herself. Had a feed at 8am and is asleep again. She's in her cot for the first time this morning, her head was about two inches from the top of the bassinette so I thought it was time to start the transition.

Agreed it has been very cold.
I successfully avoided all parental duties (except titty feeding) yesterday, slept in for the first time in donkeys, then buggered off into New Plymouth without the kids or baby and DH didn't say anything! In fact, he was really nice to me when I got home, and had actually done some washing & kept the dehydrator going. Either aliens have stolen my real husband or he's just realised he only has one more weekend at home with us til he goes away. I'm betting it's the aliens because he forgets everything.
Haven't been back on facebook since I signed up & fluffed around, can definitely see it being a major timewaster! Sorry no ideas on the safety sleep. Penny & Leonard are awesome names. After killing several "reputable" vacuum cleaners I bought a warehouse cheapie, onyx cyclonic hepa filter etc, and it's still going fantastic after over a year.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother c&j.
Ok, I'll pm you my name now susy & then go find you Lorna, & hopefully put more pics up on fb, if there are any on this laptop that aren't dh's boring work crap or porn. (Not likely unless the aliens know dh's password.)

Chatty little girl this morning and she's had a big sleep over night wonder how she's going to go today.
Trip to the supermarket for us which she loves lots to look at. Doesn't like going past the chillers though.
I do think she's trying to drop a day sleep she's started to cry when I put her into her cot during the day again, she did that when she was 3 months.
I've noticed she's awake a lot more in the buggy when we go out rather than sleeping.
Day of putting my feet up with a cuppa are numbered

Fruit, eg smush pear or apple etc is good for poo too. Speaking of which, I have to go change two monsters. Why do they always go at the same time?
Oh and there weren't any photos for me to upload, think dh keeps them on the external hard drive. Have good days everyone,

Lucy, if you're concerned about Silvias blocked nose then you can use a couple of saline drops in the nose and you don't need to suck it out. Its a trick for bronchitis babies and good for colds (for us a well). Dissolve 1 tsp salt in boiled water and use it once its cool. A syringe is quite easy to give it with and you can get them for the chemist.
Alyssa, hope uni goes well. I don't envy you, quite glad I decided to put a hold on my studies.
Lorna, love the names. Personally I think you should keep the name Leonard .
So glad I didn't put the washing on the line as it just poured down here. Thinking I'm going to give up on the dreamfeed as Felix seems to sleep better with it. When I do the dreamfeed he seems to think he needs a feed at 4am, I don't like that especially when I know he can sleep through. Cluster feeding in the evening seems to work well so I might stick to that for a while if he refuses to go to sleep at 7pm.
Trying to decide if to keep going to space or not. I don't really like it so think I should pull out as theres a waiting list, including ladies from my antenatal class, but then its good for Felix so I should keep going.
Wellington ladies, there is a cafe at the rose gardens. Might be better to meet up a bit earlier than 2.30 cos depending how long we talk for we could end up getting caught in traffic when we leave. Maybe 1.30 or 2pm might be better?

The little monster is asleep now. Poor wee thing really wants to poo but it's just not happening. She woke at around 11.30pm last night just as we went to bed but I managed to put the dummy in and she went back to sleep. Woke again at 3am and would not settle so I lay down with her on the couch where we snoozed on and off till 6 when she woke for a feed.
She is grunting and pushing and crying but nothing is happening. I just rang the Plunket line and they told me to eat heaps of fruit or give her some water. I've just given her some water and am hoping this will help. I think we're gonna stay home today untill after the poo has happened, don't wanna deal with that one out and about
Alyssa, hope uni goes ok and Milla enjoys her time at the carer.
Lorna, what does Alex think of the cats? Emily has only just now started to take a note of ours and stares at them for ages.
Fleur - I thought it's better to wait with introducing dairy till they are a year old?
Emily has also started to cry again when I put her down. It's a matter of me going back in again every few minutes to settle her and she normally goes to sleep reasonably fast. What is it with babies fighting sleep?
ttj - lol at the alien husband but good on him for dealing to all the kids while you went out!
Melissa - i've heard the same about space, as in that there is a waiting list. What don't you like about it?
I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and go along to a wriggle and rhyme session this week

Alex loves the cats, she reaches out to them and has a stoked and a grab, I put a video up on my page of her doing it, too cute
Hope Emily gets that poo out soon, heard the brown sugar and water was great for it
Alex has been asleep for about an hour now, longest day sleep in a while, shes in the bathroom under the heat lamps, stirred when I turned them off, so just put one back on, yeah new sleep place

just talked to plunket line about getting silvia to take the bottle...will see if any of their suggestions work! she was pretty helpful. the first one i am trying is giving her the bottle as a toy to get her to like it and start to take it to her mouth. will try this this week and see how we go
thanks melissa re the saline suggestion. i have made some up and just waiting for it to cool down.
i think dd is pooing again (sorry susi this is probably not helping you!)
2 lots of 2hours sleep today! lets hope i get an afternoon sleep and she goes down well tonight (dreams are free!)

No worries Lucy! Emily has been asleep for nearly 2 hours so far so am enjoying the peace and quiet for a bit.
I did give her some water before and it was funny watching her reaction when she realized it wasn't milk! I hope it helps though.
Am just about to place my order for the cot and highchair. Do I need a harness for the chair? I hate strapping her in but I guess I need to initially as she may slide down if she is still to small?
