Totally hear you monkeys, we have done numerous Clomid cycles and i figure if it hasnt worked yet then surely its just not going to work as we have given it a good go - with promising bloods/scans etc but nothing. Im not quite sure how to get around those feelings, im having a Lipiodol flush this week and from there might do another IUI then its the reality of IVF for us, Im def struggling with the fact that IVF is looking like the path for us....but what if that doesnt work?? Sorry im not helpful :-)

Good luck with your clomid round Brownie - hope its successful!
Monkeys & Mumma2be - sorry i can't offer any advise on how to cope with unsuccessful rounds of Clomid as i'm only on my second round and still feeling positive that its going to work for us. Maybe ask me in a few months if i'm still not UTD!

Question though, have any of you ladies experienced quite a light AF with taking clomid - mine came on day 36, but has been quite light compared to my ones on the pill & after taking provera. Definatly there, but just much lighter than i'm used to - sorry TMI there a bit!

x

I try take mine about the same time each day, i take them around 5pm-ish as i get distracted by the TV later on and forget about them!

Windy - my periods were shorter on clomid and only one really heavy day as opposed to two/three without clomid.

Brownie - I set my alarm to take my clomid at 8pm, but sometimes didn't take the pill until 9.30pm-ish as I'd forget and then take it when I went to bed and remembered. It still worked ok

This most recent cycle of clomid I had no hope - I pretty much had prepared myself for another few cycles and then moving onto IUI. The first few cycles I was so positive and when AF would arrive I would feel really down. I don't have much advice, other than what you are feeling is perfectly normal - grieve for the lost chance, and then try to give yourself a treat.

Im currently on day 3 of Clomid. Im not sure if im having any side effects or im over thinking it... Have had a few hot flushes, slight headaches and cramping.

Hi Ladies, Its been a bit quiet lately on here. Hope everyone is ok? How is everyone?

I had my scan today to see how many follicles and I have 10 on the right side and 8 on the left. With one decent sized one of 16mm. FA think Sunday is most likely the day OV will occur?? Then blood test on tuesday to see how things are going... Feeling positive!

Ooh Brownie, exciting!!

Has anyone noticed they are more emotional/moody after taking clomid? I'm on day 25 but have really noticed it this cycle and I finished clomid on day 7! Could it be related to the medication or is it totally unrelated?!

Hey Epictraveller... Yay it is exciting. Im not going to get my hopes up though..

FA said if by tues the egg hasnt released I will do a trigger injection. Have you done that before? Or has anyone on here done it? I have no idea what to expect dpes anyone know anything about these?

I have found im very emotional, anything and everything sad makes me cry. Or things that annoy me really annoy me!

I wasnt sure either if it was due to clomid or just me as its my first round.

Sorry i've been a bit MIA, work has been super busy this week!
Great news about the scan Brownie - all looking positive!
Interesting how you're being monitored on 25mg but i'm on 75mg and just have the day 21 test, guess its different for each person.

Epic - can't say i've noticed any mood changes, my only side effects seem to be hot flushes and breaking out in a sweat at anything that requires a bit of exertion! Could just be the weather though!

Ariel - feel free to lurk away :) Did you end up going for the early preg monitoring with FA?

Hmmm must just be me!

I only had the bloods as well Windy and that was on 50mg. I didn't ovulate until CD22 though so I'm going to ask for a higher dose next cycle. Might ask for a scan as well as when I had one a few months ago they could see a growing follicle that never released so I'm wondering if a trigger might be needed for me as well. It's been on my mind a bit!

Thats what's happened with me, i was on 50mg first off and ov'd about day 21 or 22. My bloods on day 21 were very low, so they sent me back on day 26 which showed i'd ov'd by then.
Ended up having a 36 day cycle.
They've upped me to 75mg to try make it happen earlier.
My mum had a natural 36 day cycle so maybe i'm similar, except mine arn't really natural...

Windy, I was on 100mg unmonitored. And nope, didn't go for early monitoring. Decided that serial HCGs would probably drive me insane. I called up my old midwive and she will take me on, and has kindly referred me for a dating scan which is next Wednesday, eek!

I had 30 day cycles on clomid, so FA think I probably OV'd around CD16 - but they were happy with that (especially since I was already on 100mg and the higher your dose, the increased chance of a thinned lining etc).

Hi Windy Im not sure why? maybe different specialist's do there monitoring differently? I just thought it was a good idea as this is all new to me and it feels good to be able to have them there to ask for information and to explain the results. Maybe if the first couple of cycles on monitored are not successful I will continue with clomid un monitored.   Have you got your cd21 test back yet? Fingers crossed for you

Epic Maybe a trigger is all you need to kick start it And a scan will show you how big etc?? FX for you!!

Ariel How are you feeling? Good luck for Wed that is very exciting! Please let us all know how you are going?!

Hi ladies I'm cd 13 today and had a BT on wednesday that said my levels were at baseline. I have to have another on Monday and I hope the results are better from this one it would be cd 15. I OVd cd17 last cycle with clomid. I'm still on 25mg and monitored as they didn't get a scan in last time as I OVd quickly. I hope this cycle works if not I'm asking to up my dose and be Unmonitored next time.

Hi ladies, I got my BFP yesterday on my unmonitored cycle! Makes me wonder as I always thought during my monitored cycles that FA had my dates wrong meaning we were missing OV. 1st month doing what I thought based on years of charting and a BFP. Reallyhoping this is a super sticky one , will lurk around for yourBFPs too
