Morning ladies and welcome Emily! Thanks for the warm wishes - I'm still in a bit of a haze on it to be honest... think I'll feel more comfortable when I know bloods on Thursday :-) Emily, have they scheduled your surgery yet? I'd be inclined to go back to them on the protocol they've advised to request an explanation / share what you know about the other ladies (I also had multiple bloods & scans on my Clomid cycles).

Morning ladies! I've been a bit MIA for a while for many reasons - including a holiday away, so there is soooo much to catch up on and read back on, I've been reading as often as I can, but sorry if I don't comment too much. BC I'm so happy you are at your next IVF cycle! Hope it's a better outcome than the last one hun! Emily, welcome to the thread! My experience with the specialist is that they can def be a bit "laid back" when you first start with them… they certainly were with me. I was put on 6 rounds of clomid before anything else was done. FC congrats on the BFP! Those numbers are fantastic! I hope all of our graduates are lurking and doing fantastically! AFM I'm on my 2nd cycle of unmonitored clomid, and have got a BFP. I'm obviously extremely cautious and not the least bit excited yet given my history. I can't help but just expect this to be the same as always. Everyday I get mild cramping on and off which isn't helping at all!! On Saturday I was 9DPO and of course impatience got the better of me, totally expecting it to be BFN, I was so surprised it wasn't With my pregnancy history, it's unusual for me to not have been pregnant since MArch). It was actually a pretty good looking BFP for 9DPO! I waited to test again yesterday morning and of course the test is lighter, and now I've become a little obsessed. My 9DPO was 2nd MU so long story short I've done 2nd MU yesterday and a FMU today, all pretty much the same but maybe (of course I stare at them too long LOL) slightly darker than yesterday's FMU - but none as dark as the 9DPO although close… I'm so confused… and I'm sure after reading this you are all too haha I've gone mad! I don't know if I should ring FA and get bloods done. I feel like I'm not technically with them as there are no visits etc, so not sure what their reaction will be if I call to get bloods - and I'm only 12DPO today so I'm also worried they will say it's too early so do I just go to my GP! Aaarrrgghhh as you can see, I'm still a crazy person with this whole TTC trip! Love and hugs to all!

Ok so I did a 2nd MU test - which is actually midday as that's when it was yesterday aswell, and have a darker BFP! Is it weird that it's much darker only 4 hours after the FMU one?

Thanks ladies! I think I will see what tomorrow's test shows, then call FA for a BT BC yaye, enjoy your holiday! Emily, unmonitored clomid is pretty common, I "think" some may like to do a few monitored cycles first to see the reaction. I did 6 cycles on 50mg last year, and didn't have the highest response, so FA wasn't too worried with me going unmonitored

That's great news Storm. Maybe your GP can arrange bloods?
Welcome Emily, unmonitored clomid cycles are usually the first step. We've worked our way thru them all, natural cycles, all sorts of fertility super foods, organic foods, acupuncture. 3 months of unmonitored clomid, then 3 IUI's with clomid and now IVF. My scans on Friday so I'm hoping the meds I've been jabbing have worked and there's lots of eggs for collection next week. Sometimes I think we should have tried IVF sooner and not bothered with all the rest but it's also good to know we've pretty much tried everything possible. Did they suggest having a scan maybe on your second cycle of taking clomid to see how you're responding?
My IVF is private thru Otago Fertility Services and I'm not sure what the total cost is going to be. I've been told it could range from $8,000 - $13,000. Do you mind me asking what some of you with OFS have paid?

Hey Tulip we've been told to expect about $10k, that's with ICSI and all my drugs, I was on Gonal F and Cetrotide. I suspect it will be a bit higher as I will be upping my dose but hopefully that helps!
Storm, sounding very promising for you!!

Thanks ladies, I hope it continues to be promising - I'm still so scared it's going to go the same way as the last 9 times! of course I tested again with FMU today, and while I'm not sure it's any darker (maybe slightly though) at least it's not lighter which is what usually happens for me! Here is a link to the pic: http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test-gallery/image.php?galleryid=320835 Think I will call FA this morning and go for bloods, get it over with! A.girl how are you? I'm so sorry to have read you've been through another loss! What's the next step for you hun? Tulip good luck for your scan Friday! Grow follies grow!!!

thanks for asking Storm and FC. I'm heap better now. I think this has been the hardest mc to recover from physically, but not emotionally. We're excited to have a break and make a plan for next year. I'm pretty certain I'm going to quit the lab tech part of my job as I work around a lot of chemicals. Even though we know that's not what is causing the mc, we just want to give this our all next year with IVF. Plus, if I do get UTD again, being around the chemicals is a huge safety hazard... with my weakness/sickness, I was knocking things over, spilling things, not thinking straight, etc. So much for keeping out of the forums! I can't help myself - I want to know how all you are going in your journeys Storm, I totally think today's is darker. It's so hard in the beginning to tell cause a double from 15 to 30 over two days is hardly noticeable on those tests. I have everything crossed that this bub stays in place!

Thanks a.girl! I too hope this one is sticking in nicely! I had the sharpest, sorest pain on my right pelican side last night that I was so sure was going to end it all! but hopefully it was a good thing (albeit sore!) I have bloods tomorrow with FA so fx tomorrow afternoon is good news! I get what you mean too about the HPT's it's so hard to compare though - I'm so used to seeing it lighten by the day from this point on, I'm a little on edge if it doesn't! However, my 48, and even 36 hour apart tests look good - hopefully! I'm so glad you are doing well emotionally and really hope the break does you wonders! Sorry if I haven't caught up yet but have any more tests or suggestions been done since you found out exactly what it was?

Storm, we have received public funding for ivf with pgd through repromed and we're just waiting now for that process to begin. Wewwere told about 6 months if waiting. .. Two months ago. So now we are taking a wee break to recover before the ivf starts. That's about all they can do for me bar getting an egg donor (which I'm not keen on).

Emily most of my clomid has been unmonitored. if its a lower dose theres very little chance of overstimulation etc, so usually they just let you do things unmonitored. if they up your dose heaps, then they may monitor you just to make sure its not too much. also if nothing has happened in about 3 rounds they might do bloods and a scan just to check if its actually working at all. It can take a couple of rounds for your body to get into the groove and start ovulating too, so if it doesnt work the first time, all hope is not lost! GL hun xx well im 7dpo now. my hormones feel so....level! im not feeling icky (like i have every cycle around this time, and getting my hopes up thinking its MS lol...) I havent felt exhausted, or crampy, or ANYTHING! its really good! lol. hopefully its worked this cycle though.. im really the only one in the TWW thread at the mo, so not very riveting convo lol. A.Girl we missed you! hang around as much as you like xxx glad to hear you are well too. Storm, its looking good! i have everything crossed this is it for you, you totally deserve this wee miracle! xx Hi everyone else. on a work break so better get back to it, but im thinking of you and hoping like mad for lots of june/july snuggly winter bubbas (oooh i so hope i get me one of those! so snuggly mmmmm ) realising DD will be 4.5 at least by the time this next one happens. i really want two under 5- at least! but on the bright side (which im always trying to see lol) it will be really cool to be able to be a SAHM for DDs first couple of years at school and be involved with all that cool stuff. so theres always positives, right?

So sorry Storm, so frustrating that the docs can't find some answers for you especially with the number of times this has happened to you.
Has anyone else gone through IVF and had bloods that show they haven't responded to the meds? Yesterday's bloods showed I'm not responding to the Gonal F and buserelin jabs so they want me to take it for a few more days and have a scan on Monday instead of Friday. I'm already taking the highest dose they can prescribe so if I don't respond, what then?
