Hey - I'm doing ok - have stopped my chocolate comfort eating spurge before I packed on too many grams - so mostly the same weight as a month ago which is good.
Just got my AMH results in the post this morning - expected high due to my PCOS, but it's 90.5 pmol/L - which is kinda overachieving on the high side even for me! So I'm guessing they're going to put me on the smallest possible dosage of IVF meds to attempt to stop me overstimulating....
*hugs* Bambeana about the MAR result. I'm guessing they're suggesting IVF now as the way forward?

Chocolate comfort eating sounds good! Especially near Easter.
Our only option now is IVF/ICSI. We don't qualify for funding so we will need to pay for it. We knew that it was a gamble with the reversal, we also knew it was a gamble with IVF.
I think I have just hit another level of TTC pain. The loss of hope pain.

Hi ladies, Im new to this but have been searching through these forums for the past week and thought I would give this one a go. Bambeana - we are in the same boat as you, after TTC for the past 18 months and thinking the problems were with me (I don't ovulate on my own so have been on clomid) we had my husbands SA done last week and the results were really bad including testing 95% positive for anti bodies, I was devastated, hubby wanted to test again to be sure and just got results back today confirming last weeks results. We are seeing our specialist at FA Auckland tomorrow to discuss our only option which is the same as yours - it is so expensive and terrifying not knowing what to expect or what your chance of success will be - I have so many questions to ask tomorrow just hoping I get through it without breaking down...
We just need to try and stay positive (easier said then done at this point though)
Any ladies out there with IVF experience that can offer advice would be greatly appreciated. X

I'm so sorry Lulue. We just spent 10,000 on the reversal and now having to look at IVF which is so expensive. It's really, really hard. Make sure they do the checklist to see if you qualify for funding. You will need to do IVF with ICSI. Its okay to break down. I have cried lots today. Cried lots everywhere.
Today I just feel like nothing. I wanted to go home from work all day. I don't even know if my partner understands how devastated I feel since he has three children already. Forums are a great place to get support and advice. I'll PM you when I get home with some contact details of some people who could help

Oh that would be amazing thank you. I've wanted to leave work all day today too can't seem to concentrate on anything other than this. I get what you mean about feeling like your partner doesn't understand how upset you are, I feel the same with mine, he doesn't really mind if we have kids or not has a take it or leave it kind of attitude but for me it means everything. We are going to ask about public funding tomorrow but will also look at the private options too, it is so much money though and will put a lot of pressure on us so I guess we have to really think about it. It must be rough having paid all of that money for a reversal only to find it didnt give you the result you wanted, I'm so sorry! Are you booked in to see the doctor again?

We are seeing our doctor tomorrow. We knew that there was a chance of antibodies but we decided to try anyway, we figured that we were gambling either way. Gamble with IVF or gamble with reversal. Now we will go back to the IVF option.
I feel like I never get any work done. I google as much as I can to try find out if there's something we can do. If there is any chance we can conceive. I feel like I don't even want to have sex anymore. Because having all the unprotected sex in the world wouldn't get me pregnant so it will just remind me. I'm dreading getting my period even though it's already late. For one month after the surgery we could hope that it worked. We would have sex and the. Wonder if we just made a baby.
I feel really hopeless

Hopefully tomorrow will help you to feel a little better coming up with a plan etc. I know it's hard but try not to let it affect your relationship too much, these types of things can be extremely taxing on a relationship and it's important to try and face it together and to communicate as best as possible and you always have places like this to vent if needed, I've tried talking to friends about it as my hubby didn't want to talk about it until the second test came back as he was so sure the first ones were wrong fingers crossed he will talk now as my friends just don't seem to understand but I guess it's hard too if you haven't been through it. Just know that you are not hopeless at all and that what/how you are feeling is completely normal.... We are seeing our doctor tomorrow too so we can vent and go through the experience together :)

Hi Lulue. Sorry you have to join us. I had a similar experience to you where we were trying for about 18 mths before my hubby was tested (and had been through 4 failed rounds of clomid) - then we found out he had low sperm count.
Currently we're on our countdown to starting our public funded IVF round in July, so have been through a lot of the hoops!
For anyone interested, been reading a lot today about AMH since I got my results back. First odd fact I found is that the name 'Anti Mullerian Hormone' is 'Anti' because the mullerian duct is to do with development of female reproductive organs, and the AMH generated in the testes of embryo-stage boys stops those parts developing. It's only actually rather recent they discovered it is also produced in the ovaries once we hit puberty! It's also recorded in 2 measurements - pmol/L and ng/mL. Since most of the data I can find online is for ng/mL units I looked up the conversion (which the first google result had round backwards) - 1ng/mL = 7.14 pmol/L (so my value of 90.5 pmol/L divided by 7.14 = 12.7 ng/mL). Was nice to be able to see where I sat in the charts - ultra high level, but not as high as some ladies :) ). For reference, non-PCOS is normally 1-5 ng/mL, and over 10 is considered ultra-high. Things we find our on their journey!

Thanks Mushroom :)
Do you mind me asking how long you have been waiting to start treatment through public funding? We are trying to decide if we should wait or do private treatment ASAP.

Hi Mushroom - interesting info about the AMH. Mine was 92 and like you predicted the clinic were incredibly cautious through all my cycles due to the high risk of OHSS. Ironically my first 2 cycles were cancelled due to lack of response! My 4th cycle we finally made it to retrieval resulting in a haul of 35 eggs! They gave me some drugs post-retrieval to reduce the chance of OHSS and despite the high number I had no major issues.
Now 6dpt5dt and trying to maintain a PMA with no symptoms whatsoever and stark white BFNs (and yes, KNOW it's too early but.... Well, you ladies all know what it's like!). Hence me being a quiet on the forum lately - just trying to forget as much as possible about what may (or may not) be going on in my uterus right now! But still lurking and sending positive vibes to you all!
Xx

Oh Bambeana, I am so sorry. *Biggest hugs* It's such a tough journey as it is, without having to worry about finding the funds for treatment or agonise over the thousands of $$ wasted...
Lulue - welcome, and sorry to hear you're in a similar situation.
My hubby made a comment the other day about the odds of success of IVF... and how ridiculous it would be to bet that sort of money on a horse race, or on roulette... still it's what we have to do right?!
AFM I am 7dpo on 2nd round of clomiphene, and nothing to report really. Just a case of wait and see!
I did manage to get confirmation today that my name is now down on the waiting list for public IVF, although we have no idea how long the wait is as it is with OFS and they are being privatised sometime this year but don't know when and in the meantime they are not actually taking any bookings, it's just a "list of names". Oh well, at least I have a spot in the queue.
I think if we get through 5-6 rounds of clomiphene with no luck we will probably try one round of private IVF before the end of the year. (Can you tell we are compulsive planners?!)
Looking forward to Easter - we are going to have our two nephews staying (age 3 and 5), so should be fun!!

Three and five, oh my... you will be tired by the end of Easter and wonder if kids are the right decision after all LOL! I hope you have a wonderful time :-) Big hugs sweet, I hope your implantation is starting to happen and you are our success story this month. Thanks for the positive thoughts, straight back at you xx
My AMH was really high for a women who is 40 Mushroom, way above the green line in the FA AMH chart. They are very relaxed and happy with the egg situation. I can't remember what the number is off the top of the head at the moment, definitely not 90's but definitely in the green zone very comfortably and above the line. Here's the link to the chart if you are interested: http://www.fertilityassociates.co.nz/Information-for-GPs/AMH-explained.aspx

Yah Star! You are on the list!
We went out for dinner last night and tried to talk about all the things we love about each other to keep it positive. I was a little frustrated because our good friend who is a sports med, nutritionist person said that we shouldn't worry bout the antibodies and in a few months the reading will be better. His theory is that the testes have experienced trauma post surgery and that if we give it time, he takes supplements it will change. I don't agree because I haven't read anything to back that theory up but figure why not wait two more months. Do another sample at the end of each month.
I just don't want to get my hopes up because I was so sure that this would work and we were so hopeful.

Lulue - we went on the waiting list in Auckland in Feb last year - so a 17 mth wait from going on the list to starting treatment. It's a long wait, but I've found making a focus of losing some weight by being good taking metformin, exercising, and eating healthy has helped with passing the time. Also posting on here lol. The wait time is getting longer though, so best to get approval for funding and get on a list asap, then worry about if you want to try privately. You only lose your place on the list if you actually get pregnant, so always worth while going on the list!
*hugs* Bambeana.
Really hope it's all happening for you SweetConception! It's been long enough!

Hi ladies, So I had the phone call this afternoon and am unsure what to make of it... Good and bad news i suppose. Technically I have had implantation as my level was 15, but they weren't very happy with it as they like it to be over 50... Another blood test on Saturday morning to see if the levels go up.... I am so hoping they will and this embryo is a late/slow starter. Will let you know how it all goes x
