Kiwi are you calling the clinic about it this morning? I'm surprised too that they havn't done bloods to check it drops to zero - FA always did with me. Craftea, I'm not sure that I have. I'm going to ask FA again what I've been tested for cause it was over 2 years ago now and I can't remember. But I have wanted to ask about being tested for that as I've read it can have something to do with repeat losses? Are you being tested for it? Oh I hope Pip gets down to see you guys in Welly soon! I mentioned to her when I went that she had a lot of followers out of Auck that would love a clinic somewhere one weekend. Just with 3 young boys it can be a bit tricky for her to do it as often as she would like - but fingers crossed she does and you've been waiting for it BC so here's hoping! Thanks Star and Beaker - Star that's great you are doing something lovely with your DH to keep your minds off TTC for a while. And Beaker I hope that little bubba of yours is growing nicely in there How is everyone else doing? Not much to report from me after a year away from FA I now have an appointment in 2 weeks with them to get the ball back rolling again. I can't remember who or if, anyone is doing private IVF with FA, but am interested to know if anyone has decided or for whatever reason decided not to, do their IVF with FA's fertility cover plan? We didn't last time and of course now wish we had!! So I would be interested to hear anyone's experience? PM me if you prefer - and I hope it's not too imposing, the money talk

Hey storm. I havent been tested for that gene but wondering if I should ask to be tested - have only read about it on overseas forums so not even sure if they test for it in NZ....
We're just in the process of signing up for Fertility Cover....a bit scary! How many IVF cycles have your done?

Hi all!
Welcome Helen - sorry to hear the dates keep shifting. I know how hard it is when the goal posts get moved. I think everyone has said it with just trying to keep busy with other things, but we all feel down when we get unfavourable news and its perfectly fine to give yourself a few pj, choc and movie days!
Had my scan this morning and all looks good - number of nice 12 mm (ish) follies, most seem a similar size, with a few 10 mm ones as well. Didn't do a complete count, but more than 10 total. Have another scan on Friday, and will be booking egg collection based off that. Fingers crossed the next week goes smoothly!

Mushroom, your scan sounds good and sounds like you have lots of eggs! I'm triggering tonight for egg collection on Friday. Not convinced that we are going to get any better results but need to try and stay positive!

Craftea, I've only done one round, last year. Not the best outcome with one embryo which resulted in a BFN and no frosties. Was privately paid hence the year it's taken for us to overcome it all and get back into it. It's such a hard decision to make I reckon! - really scary - big risk either way huh. FA had said last time, that when we were to do it again he would up the meds and also do a scratching aswell. So hopefully that will still be his plan I'm hoping it will all move along as quickly as last time too, and we are able to get into in the next cycle... wishful thinking perhaps? LOL Friday is going to be exciting! Mushroom fingers crossed those follies keep growing nicely and Nik good luck with EC!

Right results back baseline is good? But hcg is 47 so another blood test next Wednesday. Don't expect to get another af but hcg level needs to be less than 5 before I can start on pills.

What's baseline mean Kiwi? Glad they're monitoring the hcg now so at least you know where you're at.
Storm - I never considered the fertility cover option purely because from memory I think I had said we'd only pay for that one cycle and stop after that. But after it didn't work decided I'd try one more round. This truly is the last try for us though hence why no fertility cover. I kind of wish I had taken out the cover but parting with that much money is always hard (even if I have over the course of a year lol).
Good luck for your EC Nik. Mushroom glad to hear things are trucking along well.

Craftechic I've just been tested a few weeks ago for mthfr which was suggested from my Accupuncture lady, it took a few weeks to be done and my gp had no idea what it was but it came back with one heterozygous so I carry one strain of it which isn't so bad (apparently) I have been good as to not testing too early but I believe I've probably had early mc at least twice in the last few months and this may have been why?? I now have started taking a stronger more suitable type of folic acid that hopefully my body can process? Time will tell I guess, I believe it's worth having the test it's just another of the many bloods we do. "Beaker" I'd be keen on the opks if no one else has put there hand up?

Thanks Monkeydee, wonder if FA is likely to know about it if the GP didn't. What type of Folic acid are you taking now?
We're just about to get Fertility Cover if my AMH levels are acceptable...we're lucky to have some financial assistance from family, otherwise it wouldn't be possible. The nurse made a good comment about how taking the cover removes the need to have a conversation at the end of a cycle (if its not successful) about whether or not to continue - when you're feeling very emotional anyway, and as the specialist said to us it kinda ring fences the costs so we know what we've committed to financially. All very scary still tho - and committing to 3 more IVF cycles is also a bit terrifying!

Lots going on in here! I find it a little hard to keep up these days. I'm on my first cycle of Clomid - 25mg from days 3-7. Had a scan in Wellington on Saturday and it showed one 19mm follicle on my right ovary. Progesterone blood test on Monday, and I guess we'll see what happens from there.
Good luck to everyone starting their IVF journey and congratulations to everyone who has got their BFP or had their first scan!

Exciting day today ladies - for me, just because it's Friday but mushroom and Nik good luck today hope the transfer and scan goes really well! Thanks for sharing your stories on the fertility cover ladies. It really is a hard decision to make. Even though you'd be super stoked for the first round to work, I'm sure it will be hard to not think about the rest of the money. Monkey that's really interesting about the MTHFR testing. So did your GP end up doing it for you? Minik8 good luck with the clomid cycle. Sounds like you have a nice follie growing in there

The other side of that storm is if you get lucky first time but have some embryos in the freezer, the FertCover covers all transfer of the frozen ones, so you could end up getting your whole family from that one (large) payment....which makes the value better.
Happy Friday everyone
