GL for Wednesday Storm
I had my saline scan today and as thought I've got either a small growth in uterus or one previously removed wasn't taken far enough down and still left some behind. Either way embryo won't implant on it. So back to more surgery and yet again delaying second go at ivf I really feel like I'm just going round in circles repeating the same things and getting no where and it's getting harder and harder to be positive

It sucks it wasn't done right the first time for you. AFM I am just waiting patiently (not really ) for my scan next week. Would like it to be tomorrow but that's not happening

Thanks sweetpea! I'm always on the short protocol so it's always a quick round for me. I'm guessing my egg collection will be Monday or Tuesday next week.
Next week will be here before you know it!! Not long at all - then you will get a great scan and officially be released from the specialists hehe
Faith that really does suck it wasn't done properly in the first place! Will you have to wait very long before getting the surgery done again?

Hi Everyone! Wow, it sure has been a long time since I logged on in here. I know I won't be able to catch up on everything, but I'll try.
Huge congrats to you Sweatpea. I hope your scan goes really well next week.
Good luck with this round of IVF storm. I'll be stalking to see how EC goes. All the best, hun. I'm sorry to hear that your last transfer didn't go well, especially with the lovely looking embryo.
Rosey, good luck with your round of IVF too. Burserilin is my arch enemy! That drug messes me up so much! I hope you are doing ok on it.
How are you doing lulu? Congrats on the BFP!
Hi everyone else! HT, ADN, 2FurBabies, KatieA, Faith, Kiwigirl, Kumeroa,Libi, and all the other lurkers :-)
So here's an update from my neck of the woods. Unfortunately, I don't have good news to share. We did two rounds of clomid and both of them failed :-( Then we tried a month on our own, and that was a flop. I realized that it's been 2.5 years since I've been pregnant last. My cycles are so messed up from all the drugs and mc's. I'm sure my fertility dropped of that proverbial cliff they so often speak of. We've put our name on the donor embryo recipient list. That list is so unpredictable. Even though there is only one woman in front of me, they have no embryos to adopt and have no idea when they will.
So we've also decided to find an egg donor. It's such a HUGE step for us and it's taken me the better part of a year to come to terms with it, but we've taken the step. I sent a message to 15 of my friends asking if they knew of anyone who may be keen. I was so humbled by the responses from them all and shocked that, between a few friends offering and a few connecting me with women who want to donate, I got a list of about 12 women! Amazing!!! However, I only seriously think 2-3 of them are suitable. Another few may be, but they wouldn't be ready to donate for a year or so. Big ups to the my virtual friends I made in this group. Two of them found me at least 6 of those names!
Though it all sounds exciting, it's actually super scary and sad for me. I'm terrified that we'll get down the path with a donor and she'll pull out. I can't handle that. I'm also terrified that it won't actually work either. I'm sad to move in this direction, away from using my own eggs. It's a huge thing to wrap your head around.
So that's where we are... sorry for the long-winded msg!

Sweetpea just the usual polyps!
Storm thanks I'm hoping not! Last time I was in within a week so if I can't get it done this cycle I should definitely be able to next which means ivf wouldn't be til April so there goes my hopes of a baby this year! But I guess even just being pregnant this year would be amazing!
Agirl wow what a journey you have been on, be kind to yourself and try remain positive.

a.girl, I had tears in my eyes for you. I don't know what it's like to be on that road but even imaging it isn't pleasant. You're amazingly strong willed and persistent, look at what you've been through already and what you're undertaking now - amazing! Hugs, prayers and all the best for the road you are walking.

An ad for Fertility Associates popped up online and I took a look. Sounds like the kind of avenue I might pursue this year if we don't strike gold in the next couple of months. Does anyone here have experience with them and if so, how has it been? I would be looking to go to either the Christchurch or Dunedin clinic, depending on whether or not it has to be in your region of residence.

a.girl - Wow! You really have had a lot to work through in the last few months. Taking that set to look at an egg donor i am sure would be one of the hardest ones to take! Great you have so many friends out there wanting to help with that though that's great to hear! I do hope you find one that would pull out last minute and will go all the way through!
Libi - we are with FA but in Hamilton. They are ok, treat you like a number some days but they get the job done (well so far for me they have)
Kumeroa - wow 14wks that has gone fast! Hope your keeping well!
Storm - good luck for today

A.girl, wow what a rough time! It's such a hard choice to make to go with a donor, it took us a good 6 months to be happy with our choice to go down the donor route. I do hope it all works out for you and you find an amazing donor :)
Kumeroa, 14 weeks has gone fast! Hope all keeps going nice and smooth for you.
LiBi, we are on the waitlist with FA CHCH, the appointments we have had so far have gone well, they were good at laying all the options out for us and the pros and cons of those options but leaving the choice to us as to what avenue to take. Faith may be able to let you know her thoughts too.
Hi everyone else :)
Afm, works taking up all my thinking space atm so the frustrating waiting is going alot faster than it was - roll on late April which is when should have a donor. Also, trying to lose a few kgs, which is no fun haha!

a.girl wow! Good on you for taking your time to really know that this is the next step for you. And how amazing of the people you know! I totally get how sad this is for you and you have every right to be. At the end of the day you want to complete your family and this may be the way to do it. I wish you every success with this going forward! I hope you will keep us updated on the progress with it Faith fingers crossed you get it sorted soon then! First of March today so April isn't too far away Kumera fantastic to see you are still going along nicely! I'm happy for you to lurk and let us know how you continue to get on. Libi good luck if you decide to go down the path of specialist help. I have been with FA in Auckland for 4 years now and they really are great. I've had to same doctor and I really like him! There is just one nurse there that I never like receiving calls from as she is one of those ones that see us as a number - but the rest are great! Scan went well today - managed to have a chat to my doc about things too, and he's also going to see if the head lab guy can have a look at my embryos as the grow after collection just to see if he has any input. And we will look at the PGS for any embryos making to day 5. DH and I had decided that we will do this only if we get a good number like 4 or more as it's quite expensive we would just like to get a broader idea with more. If any less, we will just have them transferred back. But anyway scan showed about 5 larger follicles around 14cmm on both sides, and some smaller ones. So another scan on Friday and if there has been alot of growth, will trigger Friday or Saturday. He was quite surprised they had grown this much already, but then again I am on 250 of puregon! And still bruising with almost every shot

Sounds promising storm I hope things keep going in the right direction for you :)
Libi I'm with chch FA and have learnt soooo much going through my first ivf cycle like don't just go by what they say make sure you have your say and have your opinion heard! I don't think they should of gone ahead with my transfer since a polyp was showing on the scan but they said no no it won't be a polyp, well I just had it confirmed it is so that embryo may of stick if I got the polyp sorted first! But all and all they are really good! Way better than the public hospital that's for sure!

Wow, so much to catch up on on one page!
Storm, glad the scan went well :) not so good about the bruising though :(
Kumeroa, wow time is flying! Glad to hear all is still going well.
a.girl, that's a hard decision to make, so happy for you that you've made it AND that you've had an awesome response from volunteers. Donor eggs is a route we may still have to take but it's something I'd look at. Unfortunately I don't know that many people in NZ so I'd have to do a newspaper advert or something but it's not something to think about for our next round anyway.
KatieA hahahaa also working on losing a few kg here. They seem to be pretty stubborn and don't want to be evicted.
Faith, best of luck for your next surgery.
Phew, think that's it! As for me, we've finally been called up for our first funded cycle later this month (woohoo!!) so I've been getting all my bloods done again. The poor phlebotomist yesterday looked at the order form in awe then triple checked how many vials she needed. In the meantime I'm enjoying the late arrival of summer!

Thanks faith and ADN! Next scan on Friday lunch time ADN great news you can get started next cycle! Woohoo for sure! Also where are you and this late arrival of summer? lol grey day in Auckland today! I can't for the life of me remember, so can someone refresh my memory - can I use a heat pack/hot water bottle for the ovary discomfort? I can't remember if I can or if it's not good for the follicle growth?

Oh ADN haha! Always the way huh! We have some blue skies in Auckland today Kaite 30 - wow! We are def hot here still I find, but the mornings have become a little chillier! I didn't end up using a heat pack, I actually found that once I was able to sit down last night and watch some telly the pressure lifted a bit. Def feeling my ovaries tugging now though! Hopefully it's a good thing! How you getting on sweetpea? Did you end up peeing on a stick just to see the pretty pink lines? I can't remember now if you said what day next week is your scan hun?
