Hi all, hope you are doing well.
Hope the wait goes fast for you Soda - haven't had public treatment so far (all treatment to date has been private), so not sure how things go! I've actually been thinking about a comment you made a while back about BDing twice on the same day. I think it makes a lot of sense in your case, since DH has plenty of sperm, just needs to clear out the dead ones first, then the second time around you've got a nice fresh batch to do it's thing!
FC - how are you doing? Not long now until testing!
FingersXd - glad you've made it onto the waitlist! Hope your exercise/healthy diet plans gets those 25kgs off in time :) I'm half way through my IVF wait now, so getting there slowly (and still holding out hope that I'll be bumped up a month or two.
BC - sucky timing, hope AF plays ball and comes today!
AFM, just waiting....

Hey ladies! Thinking of you AGirl - such a challenging situation to go through. Also sounds like that was a major iv - hope you are tucked up and resting soundly at home xx Hope everyone else is OK and I'm wishing you all well in your journeys - afraid I've been out of the loop on news on here as nuts crazy at work, which has been a great distraction from the 2ww :-) Thanks for asking after me Mushroom - beta is Sunday. Totally thinking and hopeful for the best news, but prepared for the opposite. Last time hit me hard, but more seasoned to this journey now. Roll on bloods!

Hey everyone. I have only been trying for 11 months but have been told this is where everyone hangs out. Can I still join in?

Of course you can Emily! To answer your other question I actually got pregnant on the first cycle of Clomid but it ended in missed miscarriage. My other failed pregnancy was through IVF. We have other issues too though so don't let that discourage you!

Thanks everyone. It's nice to have support and know I'm not the only one going through this. So sorry you have had so much sadness though. I feel a bit selfish complaining when others have had such heartache.. My partner and I have been trying for 11 months without success, his tests are all fine. Finally saw a fertility specialist the other day (my bloods were off but stupid GP didn't even realise or get back to me! grrr) Found out I'm not ovulating (although I still bleed every month? Can't call it a period if you don't release an egg...) and I'm likely to have adhesions from my burst appendix when I was 16 which could be blocking my tubes. So bloody devastating when all you ever wanted to be is a mum. Anyways I'm starting on clomid on my next cycle. I only get 2 chances on clomid then the doctor wants to have a look inside to check for adhesions. Do not want that at all! So now I just have to sit and wait until my next cycle (I'm terrible at waiting for anything, let alone this long!) and my mind is racing, so many questions and it seems like everyone I know has become pregnant since I started trying.. 7 people to be precise and only 3 were planned...

Hi Emily - we understand your frustration! It's always hard to understand why people who don't want kids can end up pregnant by accident, then those of us that really, really want them can struggle so much. Clomid is a great start though - it's very successful with getting you to ovulate, and if that is the only issue then you have a very high chance of pregnancy with it. Be warned that it can cause some mood swings, so let your other half know it's just the drugs if you grump at him! Can also take a few cycles to get the dosage right, as they start you off on the baby dose first round, and increase from there if it doesn't work, as they prefer you to not ovulate with it than have too much and produce heaps of eggs! NZ is VERY careful to avoid multiples.....
My experience with clomid is it didn't effect me too much the first time around (before my first pregnancy), but when we went on it again last year it had horrible mood-swing side effects (becoming a ball of rage randomly). The middle dose worked for me (full tablet, not half tablet) to get me to ovulate. Around day 10(?) they'd get me to do a blood test, and for me it was ALWAYS too early, and I'd need to have another blood test a couple of days later. Then a scan to check follicle size, followed by the text to say the 'good days to dtd'. Blood check after to make sure ovulation actually happened, then the wait for AF (period) (I did do a pregnancy test once after 14 days, but was neg, just looong luteal phase that cycle with 17dpo). Be warned - you'll feel a little like a pin cushion with the whole thing, and a bit 'on call' with having to go for tests/scans, but it's all worth it in the end (even if, for me, it's just for peace of mind knowing we've tried!).
Hope all the injections are going ok BC - grow those follicles!
Day 1 again for me - happy to be starting another cycle again, as ruddy 74 day cycles wear a bit thin!

Hey mushroom. Thanks for your support. It sounds like they're doing way more tests on you than me! I just got a script for 2 cycles of 50mg clomid and day 21 blood forms. Then told to call the clinic when I'm pregnant so they can do an 8 week scan to check if it's multiples. I'm not sure if they're not worried that I'll have much of a problem or if they think they're just going through the motions before surgery. I'm not sure how to feel!
