ooh lots of people waiting waiting waiting for those phonecalls etc! will be lurking lots to hear good news hopefully! everything crossed for you ladies- we need a real good run of nice news Star
im quite keen to look into adoption too..although the chances are slim, if i get to ivf then the chances are slim anyway and I figure whats meant to be will be and whatever comes first will be the right thing for us.  hubbys more apprehensive than I am though, would prefer another biological child which I can understand.. but for me i want my daughter to have a sibling, its irrelevant where that sibling comes from.. But i have to honour hubbys wishes so I think we will get through this year trying and working towards IVF..and if that all fails then we will look into adoption in the new year as itll be another years wait for our next funded round to happen. so at least we have a plan for the next year. but if i had my way wed be on the adoption list yesterday! lol.

Dont know If I said on here, but fert plus phoned me and the doc has given me clomid to start NOW! apparently with my oestradial only being in the 200's, and despite already having done a letrazole round this cycle, I can just start the clomiphene now! so that feels a little weird to me and I have googled and cant come up with anything about doing cycles this way- and cant get hold of the clinic to actually chat with the doc and ask about risks etc...so i guess I just trust them and jump right in! up to day 4 now and feeling good so its kinda cool to know weve been giving a second chance this cycle Big smile

Hi everyone! I'm just lurking and twiddling my thumbs too :-) we can't start ivf with pgd until July (initially the clinic said next year! After a small tantrum they realized I was higher on the pgd list. Whew! ). So I taking the pill for a few months. .. partially cause I don't want to risk another mc before the ivf and partially cause I can manipulate my cycle to start at the beginning of July rather than end. Sneaky!!! I'm hoping it'll help my body get more "normal" since the last mc.

Good luck to those who just had embies transferred! !!!

Hey Soda- that's quite normal starting mid-cycle. As long as your hormones are still like at the start of your cycle it's fine - I've been given the option before today for the same thing.

HT - still kicking around here, just nothing interesting going on, as it's just hurry up and wait. Sinus infection of whatever it was seems to be completely gone, but my cycle is totally stuffed - temperature is jumping around and I'm getting the feeling I might be in for another veeeerrry long cycle again. Though I'm only on day 27, so if I actually ov in the near future might not be too horrendous - just remembering the 12 week cycle this time last year and hoping not for another repeat!

A.girl - glad it's July for you now and not next year! We might even end up cycle buddies!

Re adoption - we were looking into it before we ended up pregnant with my son (literally was going into city for seminar thingy next week when I found out I was UTD). However, since we now have a son my husband is definitely against it - he wants more kids, but is also more content if we can't have any either. So IVF is our last shot. At least next year I'll finally be able to figure out what the fate of our baby room will be - if I'm not preggers by then I'll finally have the courage to rehome the cot, clothes, buggy, toys etc and turn it into a spare bedroom/study for me.

Hey all

Soda - great to hear you have a second chance this cycle!

Tulip - I agree with HT, a well written profile that's nicely designed and has good photos of you two could really help you stand out from the others. Hopefully you may know some people with expertise in copywriting, graphic design and photography who would do you a favour or do some freelance work for cheap...?

Amie - yay about the laparoscopy, I'll bet it feels good to have a plan of what is happening next. I had mine on a Friday; I took a week off work including the op day so went back the next Friday. If I did it again I would have waited until the Monday though - was feeling pretty average on the Friday but pretty close to normal by the Monday. The doc did say though that because I had quite a bit of endo removed I would be more sore than someone who had just had their tubes checked. (Of course though you don't know whether/how much endo you have until they do the lap!)

bahaha BC thats what I was thinking! twins would be lovely though...(should i say that out loud?)Tongue
good to know its "normal" to do this though. they really tell you nothing over the phone, just "heres a script, start clomid again tomorrow and well see you for more bloods next week.." then they pretty much fob you off and hang up before you can ask any real questions, not that theyd know the answers as its all instructions just passed on to the nurse to tell me so they wont be able to say more than that. i just wish there was more time to ask questions etc.. im not good at blindly trusting the medical profession lol im a bit of a hippy and dont like medicine etc if i can help it! BUT if this is what will get me a baby ill do it i guess Big smile

Lol take it from me soda nothing can prepare you for hearing the phrase "there are two foetal poles..." - I almost fell off the table but once you got past that bit I reckon it'd be ok. After my fleeting taste of them i kind of wish we ended up with them but then again that's quite a life adjustment.
Fingers crossed something works this time!

Yay, thanks for all the updates. I'm excited and nervous for you all :-).

I had a general with my last lap, the initial recovery was a piece of cake but man I felt super tired for a couple of months after.

Yay for clomid. I hope you get a huge surge Soda and then on with the show!

Work can get really crazy so I hope the term settles down for you soon Soda, I have just started two new part-time roles which are meant to fit in and around my business. Of course they all need something ASAP so it is full-on too.

I hope you are gearing up to Ov soon Mushroom, those long cycles are super morale busting. Can you grab some meds (provera) to force them to end and then go onto clomid to try and help them become more regular?

Good luck with your Lap Aimee, yay for getting reconditioned insides... whatever helps for you to be well and to increase chances of conceiving :-)

How is being back on the pill working for you a.girl?

I hope I got everyone :-) Have a great day. I'm 12dpo today... I might have had a temp dep 10dpo? but since I'm grab at getting them before running out of bed to the kids most likely it was just a blip and not implantation. Forever hopeful :-) Not testing as that just messes me up. I think I will see if my boobs start to tingle, that's my tell. If so then I will test otherwise I'll wait until 18dpo or so.

Agreed ht - general blows me over. I've had it twice first time I was a zombie for a week and useless for another three after. Second time not so bad but was under as long.

missK - prob better to ask in the other forum for ladies who are pregnant - we're all still trying after more than a year, so not many ladies on here have ever been preggers :)

I didn't find the general anasthetic too bad... a bit duh for a few days then back to my usual self. Do they do lap without a general? I don't think I'd be so keen on that!

Clinic phoned today, my blood test yesterday morning (cd16) showed I'd ovulated so looks like the clomiphene is bringing my cycle in to a more normal length. (Now here's hoping we caught at least one of those 4 eggs!)

At the risk of doing the wrong thing. I want to post some information. This lady is a massage specialist for fertility.  She normally is in South/East Auckland but is doing a clinic in Wellywood this weekend. I thought I would post it so those there can read about here. She has many success stories. I haven't used her as she is quite a way from us.
Exciting times...Off to Wellington tonight to do a fertility massage clinic this weekend on ladies trying to conceive, if you know of anyone that is trying for a bub in Wellington and would like a fertility massage, there are a couple of spots left, contact me asap and will try and fit them in.www.bloommassage.co.nz Thanks

Too soon to claim the 'star pupil' status I think... But fingers crossed and thinking positively all the same

Thanks for posting that HT - I'm emailed her and hopefully have an appt for tomorrow!

Also, I never updated on my last appt at the hosp clinic. Saw Dr Murray and he's referred me to FA. Said he thought it was odd that the doctor didn't remove the endo she found when I had my lap at Palmy hosp, and thinks I may need another one! Or we can go straight to IVF but both IUI and IVF have a years wait in Wellington. Is it really that bad?
And he's put me on three more rounds of clomid in the meantime.
I took it this cycle and I'm on cd16 and finally feeling better! I was so freakin emotional. Haven't been liking my job for a while but hadn't been crying at work till the last 10 days. Gah it was bad every little thing was making me upset. So I don't know if I can handle any more of this crap. Hate to think what I'd be like on the IVF drugs!

Hope everyone's got a replenishing weekend ahead. I'm going to the Summer Carnival today so excited :-)

Hey Rach - sorry clomid is messing with you. In good news, the IVF drugs actually tend to be MUCH better than clomid regarding those side effects, so good imo. Waiting lists for IVF are 12 mths in Welly, but that's much better than 18 mths in Auckland and 20 mths in Hamilton. If you can get on the list now, then I'd go for it!

Really hoping a number of you are preggers, and will find out next week! Good luck to all!

Hi RachFizz

Make sure you take your clomid last thing at night with a glass of water just before you hit the sheets. It ensures you miss most the symptoms. Clomid is not the same every month either. Some months you will even wonder if it is working because you will feel great.  Yay for the referral :-) Most girls here will tell you to use your public funding for IVF and to pay for a round of IUI yourself in the meantime while you wait. xx
