Poppy thats GREAT news! and a wicked number too- anything over 5 is considered pregnant so you are DEFINITELY UTDBig smile congrats chicky!
MissK oooh TEST! GL!
HT stink about getting the runaround. fert treatment is like that at the best of times im finding. hopefully you dont miss the window and have a chance this cycle! xx
welcome j&vbubble- goodluck hopefully your time is soon xx
Hi everyone else, havent been on here too much just so busy with life etc. but Im good. after being put on clomid since the letrazole did nothing, my bloods came back yesterday with my oestradial at 970! so went for a scan today and both ovaries have responded well- with TWO juicy follies looking ready to pop! had strict words from the doc "Im ok with you to go ahead with BDing this cycle, but with those follies be aware that you need to realise you have a chance of conceiving twins and need to accept that if you want to continue.." with a very serious face... meanwhile im beaming my head off like a dork lol. to me that is totally the best news ever! hopefully both follies pop and then at worst i have double the chance of conceiving and at best i get double for my money and get twinnies! ill admit when she walked out the room i had a little "happy cry" lol it was just sooo nice to hear something good for once! so i cant help but feel so positive this cycle..even though i know theres still a chance nothing will happen at all.. but gotta think positive- double positive! StarStar

Thanks Mushroom - nice to know I'm not alone - although wishing everyone the best each month. I haven't tried clomid yet ... Been under a naturopath and started getting regular cycles but this month very very late (not preggers tho) ... So feeling like going backwards a bit. Going to keep trying and mid year will go for the next steps!

How long u been trying mushroom?

Goodluck missk

j&vbubble - we've been trying since our son was born in 2010, but my husband also has low sperm count so we have very low natural chances. My sister also has pcos, and with clomid had her two kids pretty easily - first time around took a couple of cycles, and first cycle the next time! Definitely important to get yourself as healthy as possible/aim for normal cycles, but if that doesn't get you where you want I'd recommend clomid as something to try. It does have some horrible mood side-effects (though varies  - first time I was on it wasn't that bad), but makes you ovulate well which sometimes is just the missing key. I've pretty much been just concentrating on myself, and have lost 6 kgs which has def helped a bit. Hoping to lose another 6 kgs before IVF in July, but currently don't feel that motivated to be good enough to lose weight!

Woot for 2 follicles Soda! Hope they do their thing!

Congrats Poppy!Great news on the two follicles Soda, and welcome j&vbubble.

CD1 for me today. Didn't have high hopes but it is always such a downer. Glad to have the lap booked in for later this month. It means I'll be on CD24. My cycles are normally 24 - 27 days so I'm not sure whether to use OPKs and try again this month if it is going to be a shorter cycle. Don't want to risk there being a small chance I might be UTD but too early to test when I get to the day of the op.

Like you Mushroom I'm just going to concentrate on being as healthy as I can in the meantime for the lap and then treatment (I say this eating a magnum but it's all about balance right!?). Hardest thing for me has been reducing coffee intake.

Hi Aimee

Mushroom - great to hear your sister had 2 successes! Was she getting her periods regularly? Mine in the last have been all over the show. Exciting July not that far away but enough time to get fit and healthy / 6kgs is great keep it up!! How long do you typically have to wait for ivf? Have you tried iui?

I'm also on a massive health kick - so hard! I've done 5 days with no coffee or booze or sugar 😊

Aimee - I know I must sound un informed but what is a lap for?

Hi J&Vbubble - no you don't sound uninformed! I had to do lots of googling to start with to know the terms etc. It is a laparoscopy which is key hole surgery to check pelvic organs for endometriosis or anything else that might be affecting fertility that can't be seen in scans and other tests. It is a day stay procedure but is under general anesthetic so I will need about a week off work.

So far all of our tests have come back normal - checking for ovulation, AMH (which checks whether your egg supply is normal for your age), scans, sperm analysis and an HSG (a procedure where they check if your fallopian tubes are open). So we're hoping this will give us some answers before we try IUI or IVF.

You're doing well five days without coffee! I get major headaches if I don't have a coffee by mid-morning.

Thanks Amie - great to find this info out. Do you have pcos? Did you try chlomid?

Great to know that your other tests are normal! I haven't had those yet. I had scan from fertility dr -
She diagnosed pcos but said everything else normal. Scares me to have more tests but just at least you know what you are dealing with.

Hey - my sister has very bad cycles - from 3 weeks to 4+ mths. Clomid got her ovulating easily though, and for her that was all she needed. My cousins both have endometriosis and pcos and have gotten pregnant with clomid as well. Regarding our treatments, we haven't done IUI as there isn't much point with very low sperm count. We have to do IVF with ICSI, where the sperm is injected directly into the egg. We've been on the wait list for IVF for over a year now, so really on the final stretch with only 4 mths to go! I'm still hoping we might get called in earlier too if there is a cancellation... Gosh, I've only just realised it's 4 mths away now - sounds really close!

I love hearing success stories as means there's hope! Mushroom was ur sister in fantastic shape prior to starting chlomid? I've heard lots of great things from people who take it. How many rounds can u do?

Looking forward to hearing how ur lap goes amie

You really are on the home stretch mushroom. Keep thinking positive, stay healthy and keep us updated.

Hey newbies. Sorry you are in the position to sign up but delighted to have you along beside us on this epic journey we find ourselves on.
I'm a PCOS'er too, thankfully no endo left in me so apart from weight and age, things are looking good ;-) bahaha.

The Doc that looked at our file yesterday has advised us to undertake  IUI this month... nurses words were "we are perfect candidates!".  Wahoo! Hope that means we have good odds starting to build for us to get pregnant. Dh and I are glad that we are escalating but also a little cautious as our specialist said last month that if sperm wasn't an issue (and he didn't think it would be with multiple conceptions (Mcs) and two sons) we would head to IVF. Turns out sperm count might be an issue although (until someone looked yesterday noone at the clinic had actually reviewed the test that DH did 3 weeks ago!). grrr! Good news, the ones that are there are awesome so it is just getting numbers to the egg so they can fight it out.  Back to clomid last night, DH and I decided not to up the dose although it was offered as an option... going on previous months we should brew another two or three follies this month and that is more than enough for us to try with. Bloods will be on Friday 13th (CD9 so a day earlier than normal... not sure when we will trigger). We normally do just after scan (CD10)  but if they are doing IUI then it will depend on appointments and the time DH does his part).  I'm a little nervous but hoping all will be well. I just bought a fertility and pregnancy crystal bracelet off trademe and went out and got some new crystals to add to the meditation stock. Crystals make my ovaries zing so at least I think they are doing something :-)  Docs have said we will need to adopt restricted nookie duties this month. This will be interesting.

Come on beautiful baby souls. Now is the time we have all been waiting for. Mum and Dad are never going to be younger and probably not much fitter. Come get ready to join with us this month please :-)

Hope you have had happy weekends.

J&Vbubble, my now-4 year old DD is a clomid miracle Smile got her on my 3rd cycle of 50mg. ive also had another clomid bub who is my angel boy (MCd at 11 weeks) i lost last may and that was my 7th clomid round (though they were spread out- i did a couple of cycles then had a break as we moved house for 6 months, then tried again.. so not all 7 rounds at once). this is my first clomid round for this bubba and things are looking positive. i also take metformin to help with my PCOS. but for me, thats all ive needed so far. it can be very successful if your body reacts to it well! good luck!
HT yay good luck for this cycle i so hope its your turn! my hubbys sperm is like that too- the ones that were alive were perfect! but there were lots of dead/nearly dead ones. his GP said it could be an issue and got him all down on it, but when we got to fert plus the doc said that looking at the test, and the fact it took close to 2 hours for the sample to be tested from when it was done, its probably the time factor that showed a bad sample and in real life there would be way more sperm as theres no "transport time" to the egg lol. so hopefully thats the case with you and its actually ok!
im waiting for my pos opk, hopefully today, then were gonna be buuuusyyyy!!!! Wink lol not missing a single chance for these two eggies- grow eggies grow! Big smile
hubby and i were lying in bed last night talking about "what if" we had twins...far out would mean moving house for sure- me definitely being off work a good long time, not really able to work from home or anything for ages...but SO exciting to think we have the chance to have a bigger family than we ever imagined...yes yes i know its still only a slim chance..but a chance nonetheless and thats kinda cool to dream about..
wont lie, gonna be gutted if theres no BFP this cycle! Shocked cant help but get my hopes up big time for at least one healthy bubba!  might as well enjoy the bubble of positivity while it lasts huh..

Fingers crossed for you Soda. Those dreamy moments are so important in this journey. those are what allows to keep coming back to try again month after month. The more sperm you can fire in there before OV the better so try once every two days from about 6 days out of ov and then once a day until a day past OV. The sperm meets egg plan seems to have a great rate of success. Also tell DH to save all the bad boys just for BD... although masturbation can be really helpful just as long as he doesn't release. Apparently it starts the grow more sperm process so increases count.
I'm really excited for you! yay for clomid.

Mushroom, thrilled to hear your cycle was under 40 days... the waiting is so frustrating aye!  Thank goodness you only have four months to IVF. I can't wait to hear all about it. xx.

How is everyone else doing today? Where are you all up to?

Just to let you all know all the heartache and frustration is so worth it! Couldn't imagine how much I would love my little girl, but it blows me away every day
I will be looking to do a frostie transfer later in the year and it scares me that it won't work as it is our only other egg from our IVF round and we can't really afford to do IVF over again

yay MrsI Im sooo glad you are just loving being a mama- there really is nothing else on earth like it Heart
thanks HT- the way we have found to work is similar- every 2nd day from about day 10 to pos opk (to get the swimmers going) then the day of the pos opk, twice the next day (usually ov day- poor DH lol) and once on the day after ov. so thats our plan! Hubby will be away when i test/get AF so itll either be a good thing i can mope in peace and be ok by the time he gets home, or ill have to wait another few days to tell him as he doesnt want to find out over the phone! will have to think of a cool way to tell him if its our month :) it would be seriously the best timing- would be due just before DD starts school (early December and her bday is early January) so i could be a SAHM her first 2 years at school- would be so cool Smile so heres hoping!
