Met HT and her hubby at FA today - I had an endocrinology appt plus was dropping off my IVF consent forms - was great to meet in person!

I have 3 kgs I'm supposed to lose before my IVF, so thinking I'd better aim to get to more group fitness classes this term!

Oh man, just typed a really long answer and refreshed the page. It shot off into cyber ether without posting. lol.

It was so good to meet you in person today Mushroom. Really enjoyed our chat and totally fell in love with your beautiful son. He is so fun :-)

It has been a big day and I now feel shattered. DH did two samples but unfortunately we only got to 560 000 after wash. They ideally like a least a million. Thankfully, we still went ahead. It is already paid for and I'm all drugged up so a low chance is better than no chance huh. Fingers crossed that we can still get the job done. Charlotte our nurse said that I am the best insem ever as my inner and outer cervix's line up, so it is a really easy process. Wahoo! Nice to be good at something when I so badly suck at scans... and bloods ;-).
Our specialist has been informed of the sperm issue so we will meet to have a plan all ready for next cycle before it starts. In the nurses's words, hopefully we will cancel the appointment as we won't need it, but it is better to be prepared.
Based on today (and previous conversations with the specialist), I'm pretty sure that we will be starting IVF early May. Because I have a long LP, they will test and then we have a few days grace before AF arrives. That should give us a window of opportunity to start gonal f on CD2 etc.
I know it sounds like I have written this cycle off. It's not the case at all. I have had plenty of cramping and pressure this afternoon and DH even got another chance in the bag with the old fashioned way after we got home. That man is a machine ;-). Hopefully we have our lovely eggs and spermies doing their meet and greet now and plan b will not even need to be actioned.

TTC our 3rd child 5+ yrs. Self-funding. Over 55 medicated cycles. 3 m/c's iuis, ivf with ICSI fresh BFN, 1 FET BFN. PCOS horrible. Endo and adhesions from c-sects resected. DH few wrigglers. FAITH!

I was thinking exactly the same thing SC! Inner and outer cervix? Wha?

Thanks so much for your words Star, I really really appreciate it.

We got a letter from FA today with blood test forms so exciting to know things are moving ahead - although they did say that treatment would still be up to 4 months away. Hopefully that's the worst case scenario - I am keen to get going!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cervix

Sorry to send you to a wikipedia source but they have info on the internal and external openings through the cervix. Apparently women most often don't have direct alignment which means the nurse has to bend the catheter to try and get the sample into the uterus.

Four months isn't long Dolly, you will be there before you know it.

Sorry about BFN Soda, they don't get any easier :-( hugs.

oh yay HT am so hoping like mad everythings happening for you as we speak!
and Thanks for the hugs. i guess its not over until its over, but i really feel that nothings happened this time. and am actually ok with that- I feel like this cycle was so medicated its not even me anymore- i feel quite detached from my own body if that makes sense...which is a bit hard to deal with..but am keeping busy so am actually just not thinking about all that and getting on with things. will keep up with the progesterone over the weekend then get HCG bloods monday i think, then stop the progesterone and do it all over again...
had an awesome night at dancing tonight- its amazing to just have that release and not think about the world for an hour or so Smile and will be busy painting tomorrow to get the house ready for sale. so plenty to keep my mind occupied with.

Hi all. I'm going to sneak in here quietly - I recognise a few names from the last time I was on here...!

Little bit of history....I have 5 year old twin daughters from my first marriage who were conceived naturally but helped along with progesterone supplements after recurrent miscarriages. My second (and last!!) husband and I have now been together for almost 4 years, TTC for just over 18 months so far, and I had my first FA appointment today which was a little gutting. I have endo and have now been diagnosed with PCOS. I also have low LH (the opposite of most people with PCOS from what I understand). I have pretty irregular cycles, and so we start clomid next cycle. We are going through FA privately as I have two children under 12 already so don't qualify for public assistance. Had a scan today and have two follicles that look like they might release an egg in the next 7-10 days, maybe (I'm on day 21 already haha) so we'll just cruise until the next cycle starts and then start tablets. It's fantastic timing since I started a new job last week!! I haven't quite figured out how to tell the boss that I may need time off to go to Hamilton for a scan on day 12, whenever that will be....

Hi Minik8e! i remember you from TTC my girl. welcome! GL hun hope your stay is short and sweet Smile
had a wee down moment today when It sunk in it was yet another month of no baby.. but over the course of the day ive talked about our house building adventure heaps with DH and really, its a good thing i suppose.. we have SO much to do, theres no time for morning sickness or exhaustion lol we have to sell this house! and every month of saving we can do is a month extra I can stay off work by the time i finally do have another baby... so there is a bright side i suppose. this time around we will be on a MUCH tighter budget- I stayed home for 2 years with DD and even now at 4 years old i only work 3 days.. now to stay home for 2 years would be a miracle once we have our new big mortgage. but its what you have to do when living in auckland and on the property ladder huh. im sure we can make it work as i loved every moment of being home with DD, would love to be able to give my next child the same.. but we shall see..

15dpo and one last BFN to confirm it hasnt happend for us this cycle, have taken myself off progesterone (really doubt i need bloods to confirm the bfn) and from now am taking a month or so off charting, off fert drugs, and just focussing on all the house stuff we have to do to get into our new home, enjoying all the awesomeness in my life right now that i already DO have, get through my 1 year anniversary of losing my angel, trying to get healthier, and just try to forget about it all for a while. if i dont i think ill go crazy and as much as i really dont want to stop TTC, something has to give because its really starting to take its toll. so itll mean ill be off here other than the odd lurky when i really cant resist hehe. but ill say bye for now and hope lots of you have good news by the time i come back! xxx

Hi everyone

I am new and this is my first time ever posting on any kind of forum!
My husband and I are both 27 and have been ttc for 15 months (coming to the end of month 16 now).

I have had a blood test come back normal, although they said I may not have ovulated (progesterone level was 14) so have just done the day 21 test again and awaiting results. Waiting for SA results to come back too.
It's all a bit confusing from here on I feel, I have no idea what the next steps are to take!

Has anyone gone through or is going through something similar?
