Glad your appointment went well, but yes, ouch on the funds. And if you end up doing lots of embryo transfers its pay-per-pop too.
Got a call today to discuss IMSI - looks like we'll be shelling out $750 of our own cash with our public funded cycle as it turns out when we did IVM last year hubby had really bad morphology as well as motility (like, less than 4% normal morphology) - which was a bit of a shock as previous tests back in 2010 & 2012 had low count, but didn't look too abnormal with other factors. Don't know if it was just a really unlucky once-off, but given everything we've paid to date seems to make sense shelling out for the non-funded extra magnification to make sure they're getting ones that look at least half reasonable to try and fertilise any eggs with... Probably will go on the pill when I get AF next and take it for two cycles to make sure I get AF right at the start of July - my cycles are so unpredictable I don't think I could handle it if it gets to July but I don't get AF till many weeks later...

Mushroom - We paid for IMSI our last round and I'm so glad we did. When we did IVM we got 20 retrieved / 15 viable / 10 fertilized but 0 past day 3. Egg quality probably an issue as well of course but with IMSI they discovered lots of DHs sperm had vacuoles ("craters of the moon") so they were able to avoid them and our results were 35 retrieved / 31 viable / 27 fertilized / 6 frozen. As well as changing the stims we were on I definitely think the IMSI made a difference. Interestingly though when I said something to the Wgtn embryologist about the team not doing IMSI in the Auckland IVM cycle she said something along the lines of "...if they're like me if you have the technology available it's hard to resist using it..." Which gave me the impression she sometimes does IMSI even if people haven't paid for it! She seemed very enthusiastic about her job though so could just be an individual thing.

Hey ladies, a bit quiet in here at the moment! Hugs to all those who have had disappointment again this cycle. This journey is long and hard, and you are all so strong and resilient. Not much to report, I am just waiting, waiting. I have started yoga classes on my specialist's advice... done one so far and found it quite hard to move so slowly - I am used to exercise being much higher impact. I guess that's the point though eh, it is definitely relaxing. I've paid for the next 8 weeks of classes so I'm sure I'll get into it. I have been doing a bit of reading back to historic posts on this thread (and learning lots of useful info about treatments etc along the way - thank you all for sharing your journeys!) I see mother's day noted as a "do not check Facebook" day - must remember that one this weekend!!

Star I have been doing 'Restorative Yoga' - just gentle stretching and breathing and hugging a bolster ;) Am loving it! I certainly feel much more at peace walking out of that room.
I will be keeping my distance from anything Mothers Day related - way too hard.
We had our blood tests last week - Mushroom, my partner's tests were for Hep and HIV I think. We are heading to Chch next week for another SA for him, an internal scan for me, consent signing and drug education. All quite exciting!
Thinking of you Sweet & Charlie, I hope you are feeling resilient. Best wishes to everyone else too xx

Good luck Lulue! Hope the 10 days fly by, and you get a freezie to go with the one inside!
Exciting to be moving forward Dolly. Yup, pretty sure hubby's first set of bloods were for Hep and HIV (not that we were worried!), and then the second set he's had to go for karotyping etc - 5 vials of blood later... ultrasound is booked for Friday, so hopefully everything goes ok then and it's not too bad for him - he's going to be more emphathetic towards me afterwards that's for sure!

Dolly - your other half might get off more lightly, as mine is going through the mill due to his last sperm analysis being completely stuffed (low count, motility and really low morphology <4%). I'm not sure if I want them to find a cause for it or not! Slightly terrified by their comments 'if we find something you might not have to do IVF' that if they find a blockage or something that can have surgery to help with then we'll lose our chance at IVF but the surgery still won't help (from what I've read online MFI is seldom able to be 'cured').

That is a bit scary, but SURELY you wouldn't lose your chance at IVF, that would be criminal! I know what you're saying about MFI - my search history ("how to improve sperm morphology" plus endless variations) would attest to that :) It would be good for you to get some clarification about that comment... when do you expect to get the next results back?

My search history would be insane...
Still waiting for ovulation confirmation results to come through. On the work front, we are restructuring so my role is being disestablished. Just more stress to deal with. I could reapply for the role but it has been changed and the changes don't appeal that much to me. So now I can add Seek.com to all the stuff I look up online.
le sigh-I also feel it!

Ooh Lulue, congrats on being PUPO! I hope the 2ww is not too excruciating.
Dolly - great news that you're moving forward!
Mushroom - I hope your man's tests come back ok so you don't have to cross that bridge.
Oh Bambeana, that sucks about your job! You really don't need the extra stress of applying for new jobs right now. I hope the right opportunity comes along and you find yourself in a better job and a better workplace soon x

Hi everyone.
I haven't had a read yet but just wanted to pop in and share what's happened with me. I was due to go for my 12 week scan this Friday, but on Sunday I started cramping and spotting and on Monday I went for an urgent scan to find that bubs had stopped growing around 7 weeks. It's strange because I think deep down I knew something was wrong, but I had been trying to ignore it and I had been planning and looking forward to things, and thought I was so close to the safe zone. I'm still only just spotting and lightly cramping so I'll be taking misoprostol in the morning. Plan to come and hang out here again. Hope to see some happy news when I read up on what's been happening x

I'm so so sorry Rach. Unlike some of the others in here I have no personal experience with loss like this so can only imagine what you are going through. Life is so unfair.
