Good luck to everyone with things going on :)
I just paid a v.large sum of $$ to FA today - other than checking the number was right when they put it into the eftpos machine i didn't look too long at the figure!

Hi Ladies :-) So excited to hear how everyone is making such wonderful progress in their journeys. Wow, it has been such a long wait and then it goes and happens all at once. I am anticipating that half the forum will graduate in the next few months, what a wonderful achievement to see :-)
Mushroom... extra hugs, so excited for you... how are the embies doing? Rosie, yay for trigger, not long now :-) Yay for 6 embies Nik... we got 6 too and got a freshie and an arctic explorer which we will put back in later this month. Craftea... the money thing is a big... oh man isn't it. We have paid over $27k now, so will need to go back to the bank at some point if we continue down the path... :-(.
Hope your appointment rolls around quickly BC. Must have been cold up on the mountain!
How are you doing Dolly/
Have you had anymore news on the Aussie testing peeps Soda?
How are you feeling Storm? big hugsxx
I hope I haven't missed anyone out. I'm typing a million miles an hour as I still need to prep for tomorrow. Take care all and have a lovely weekend if you don't post on Fridays. xx

Got my day 3 update. We have two 8-cell embies that are looking good so far (though still need to keep growing through the next critical stage). Then we have one 7 cell and one 6 cell that *might* be ok. The other 6 have stopped developing. Se now we wait until Sat/Sun and see if any get into the freezer!

Hope you're starting to feel better Mushroom and fingers crossed for your embies!
Phoned the clinic yesterday about our other embryos after a lot of hesitation, didn't want the crushing news that none had made it but lucky for us we have 1 in the freezer which we are really happy about.
Craftea - it will be all worth the money!
Good luck for your scan Dolly - I hope that will be me one day.
Hope everyone else is ticking along nicely :)

Exciting CraftyChic - at least now it's paid for and you just have to survive the treatments!
AFM - feeling even better today, so should be back to normal next week I think :) Which is good given we've got a 5 yr old birthday party next weekend!

Yay Nik and mushroom good news.
Finally heard from hospital but still no date. They give two weeks notice so it's at least that far away which means it's very likely going to interfere with starting ivf grrr. Mad face! But I've just decided I can't control it so go with the flow. Ivf is up in the air until I get the date and will see how my cycles pan out.
Have a great day girls x

Hope everyones weekend is going well.
I read Jay-Jay Feeny's book yesterday...was a bit apprehensive thinking it'd be too much of an emotional trigger. I found it really good actually - nice to see someone else's feelings being similar to mine. I think i should recommend it to my family to read so they have a better understanding of IVF.

Great news mushroom! But why do you have to wait a few months?
Bc, I sure hope they don't delay your ivf!

a.girl - because I produced too many follicles they need to wait until my hormones are completely reset. It's why I wasn't able to have a fresh transfer, but had to have a freeze-all cycle. So basically I'll wait until I get AF, then wait through a full cycle, and then the following cycle I'll be allowed to try. And since I'm going for a natural cycle, and my cycles are long and unpredictable I'm looking at Oct/Nov before hormones are likely to be playing ball to attempt a transfer! But I'm used to waiting now, so a few more months won't make much difference. Of course, I'm dying to know if these embies are going to be sticky ones or not, but they are what they are, and the only thing certain is that I'll be doing two transfers at some point in my future!

Hi all, that's great news that 2 made it to freeze. Good luck mushroom and I hope your cycles get back to normal soon. I had 8 eggs collected and 4 fertilised so very anxious to see how the next few days pan out. I'm going for transfer after 5 days. Can I ask everyone out there if 4 fertilised at the beginning is on the low side, i know everyone is different but I just feel like 4 is such a small number as they may not make it?

*hugs* Rosey - the waiting is always hard. We had 10 fertilised, and 2 made it to day 3 (and then on to day 5 freeze), but we had ICSI which means we were going to have lower success rates anyway, plus the number of follicles I had meant a lot of my eggs weren't going to be high quality anyway (21 eggs -> 2 embryos shows our issues!). FA do state that almost all of their IVF cycles result in a transfer - it's very unusual not to have anything make it - so you can only hold to that and try like crazy to distract yourself until the phone call on Monday...

I see mushroom. If I get any normal embies, I'll have to wait as well. The pgd takes about 2 weeks so I've heard. How long after ec do you normally get af ( if you don't do a fresh transfer of course)?

AF after ec is 4 - 14 days normally I think. I was asked by the nurse on day 4 if I'd had any bleeding yet, so not unheard of that early, though when I had IVM it took two weeks. I guess I'll see this time it takes less time or not!

Oh - Rosey, Dolly had exactly the same stats as you with 8 eggs collected and 4 fertilised - she had 4 make it to day 5 and is currently pregnant from the first (fresh) transfer and has the other 3 still on ice :) I started an IVF stats thread a wee while back that is slowly getting more added to it, where you can see outcomes for various ladies on here :)

Hey Rosey, We got 6 eggs, all fertilised with icsi, all made it to day 5 with 4 getting to blastocysts. We got one fresh and one frostie as the rest of the blasts weren't okay for freezing. The freshie didn't stick and we have started the long process of FET for this cycle, first scan on Monday... transfer likely on 24th all going well. Everyone starts with different numbers, their respective issues and biology either impacts or it doesn't on the haul. I really hope you get as many as you are hoping for. Big hugs. At this point, it will be what it will be, no wishing in the world will change the process. I know that is really rough when you have worked so hard to get to this point. Have faith sweetie :-). We have your back.

Morena girls. Mushroom am glad you got some to freeze. I got two from my big haul of 26 too. Rosey when I had a lower response I had 4 fertilise and one made it to freeze so fingers crossed you do get one at least too.
How's everyone else? Lost track a bit as to what's going on. Ht excited for your next transfer! Chilly here with snow on the ground. Big night out last night at our netball/rugby club prizegiving. Still got a few weeks left of netball but going to cut off the drinking aspect of that now with surgery and ivf approaching. We're a very social team (only off court - on court we're not lol).
Have a great Sunday girls xx
