Glad your scratch went well Storm.

Hope your transfer has gone ok Mrs I.

JMM2B - I was on 150 puregon, got a bit headachey and vague but that went away after a couple of days and then it was just swollen and tender ovaries.

Amie - I was seeing Dr Vitalis for acupuncture up in Windsor Park for a while, but didn't really click with him either. I stopped during my ivf cycle (although it possibly would have been helpful) because at the time I really didn't want to be poked and prodded by yet another person. Like you, I didn't really click with him and so I'm looking around for another acupuncturist as I think I want to give it another go.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Nothing to report from me - still waiting for my WTF appointment, and OV'd while I was away over the weekend so no chance of a miracle this cycle. Which does have the upside of meaning I won't spend the next two weeks analysing every twinge!

Just popping in with hello - supposed to be working lol. Spent all day listening to Nathan Mikaere Wallis a brain development specialist amongst other things. Very amazing (think I've raved about him before) and if you're ever given the opportunity to hear him - go!

Anywho started spotting this afternoon so AF for me tomorrow I hope. Eek the roller coaster is about to begin.

hi girls, just popping in too. Did bloods today and been given go ahead for transfer on Tuesday. Thank goodness for a understanding boss who doesn't freak when I said today. I need three days of starting Monday! Feel very flat at the mo, not sure if it's the prognova, the thought of starting those damn messy pressies tomorrow or the fact it's the last frozen embie? Hope everyone else is good and looking forward to their weekend.

So I bet it's that.
Storm glad you're ok after the scratch. I wouldn't stress about now pain either. I felt fine after they completely cleaned me out.

Having lil mini freak outs now AF is almost here. Think it's because I know too well what I'm in for and terrified it won't work or it will and I'll lose it. Aaaah lol. Going to go mow my lawn to clear my head.

It totally did Craftea - great distraction then I just had a big convo with my mum so feeling less stressed now. That and I did some calculating with the calendar so have a bit of an idea of time line now. Phew.

Haven't heard of taking melatonin before. I'm shocking at taking folic acid (note to self go take it right now!) let alone trying anything else. In the past I've tried evening primose, DIM, fish oil, a multivit, standing on my head, legs in the air.....lol. But giggles aside would be interested to hear more....anything to help I say. ANYTHING to get pregnant and stay that way. Just once, would be nice. Gah today the speaker I had was talking about babies in orphanages overseas and how badly they're affected because all they do is get fed and nappies changed without any interaction and I just wanted to take one and give it a home! I'm seriously thinking that once this is over and I know which way I'm heading I'm going to sign up for foster care. I want to do it when we're in a place where I could leave me job and we'd be ok and we're almost at that place so wouldn't hurt to get the process going.

Glad you're feeing less stressed now.

The specialist said theres been a study done in Japan (and some anecdotal evidence) that showed Melatonin can improve egg quality, so he wants me to try that this time round.

ah thats tough hearing about kids not getting what they need. I've wondered about fostering too but I'm not sure if my husband could be convinced to go for it.

That's so cool that your specialist is keen to try something different craftea. Be intriguing to see how it goes. Did you get much information about how it's used?
Yeah my DH will be hard to convince to go through the process I would say. Don't think he'd have any issue with me doing it, just him taking the time to do it would be my stumbling block. However won't both going there until next year and only if I have to.

I think he may have been scrounging a bit to find something different to do this time round ;) you just take a tablet every evening for a few months beforehand - think i'll only have been taking it for about 2months by the time egg collection comes around but he didn't seem to think that was an issue.

yeah it'd be much further down the track for us too. i think my husbands prob would be around having to share the house with someone else that wasn't family - and his mum is a social worker so we've just heard the stories about how hard foster kids can be.

Craftea, I'm taking melatonin at the moment. Last time I was in the states, I bought some (over the counter and super cheap there, you don't need a script!) to help with jetlag. It's something we produce naturally every night just before we go to sleep, but some people are deficient in it   I think the studies in Japan showed people who were deficient benefited from it, but if you already have it, it doesn't seem to do any harm.   I've been taking it every second night. How much will you be taking? It can become "adictive" in the sense that your body relies on the supplement and slows its natural production. So if you stop taking it, your body has to remember to produce it again. I'm also taking coq10enzyme and have been for the last few months. Expensive but the only thing routinely suggested by some big clinics in the states other than a multivit. Oh...and I also took two high dose tablets of vit D recently to up my levels (its fat soluble, so you don't need to take it every day). Will let you know in a few weeks if it helped at all...

BC, we've had Nathan MW up here to speak as well - he's great!!! I was going to go to one of his presentations, after he came to present at the school, but I had to cancel. I had just had a mc the week berore and just couldn't handle talk about how to raise children! Yay for AF arriving!!! Will you start stims this weekend then? I'm starting tonight!

Storm, great to hear the scratch went well. I so hope this does the trick! Have you heard of embryo glue? I remember someone telling me about it years ago - she had to travel to aussie to have it done though.

Kiwigirl, good luck on Tuesday!

ah yeah the Dr mentioned its easier to come by overseas, have to get it on a script here, and it was $24 (which is not bad but it was obviously not fully funded) i'm on 3mg a day. I was reading about the japanese study last night and it sounded like melatonin works like an antioxidant and prevents oxidation in the eggs. i've been taking Coq10 for about the last 4months now and it comes with VitD in it as well...here's hoping it helps. I've also just started taking DIM which helps detox and remove excess hormones.

Interesting about the glue comment - cos when I asked our clinic about it they said they use it standard and had been for years....unless there are different types of glue.

I'll be about a month behind you ladies - will be starting the pill next week when ever AF shows up. gone back to the downreg cycle this time.

Eeeek BC exciting times! But I get that there are also SO many emotions around it all! Are you doing colorado this cycle?

A.girl thanks! I have heard of the glue - to help with implantation right? Of course only through Dr Google LOL but my specialist certainly hasn't mentioned it. Maybe something else to look into if needed yaye for starting stims tonight too!!!! Best of luck! What is the plan for you this time? Do you need to continue to test all embryos you get?

Craftea I've never heard of the melatonin thing either, but it's great when your doc gets in there and suggests some new things huh! And I totally laughed at your head f*#k comment!! So so true! lol

Hope you all have a lovely Friday and weekend! It seems we get a little quiet in here over the weekends - maybe this journey doesn't take over our lives as much as we think! I have a lovely dinner out with some girlfriends tonight, and I can't wait!!! Going to enjoy a nice red wine I think

Yay for for starting stims BC and A.Girl - exciting times! Thanks for the acupuncturist recommendation Roubaix. Good luck for Tuesday transfer Kiwi. Enjoy dinner tonight Storm :-)

Had my blood test on Wednesday and hcg is at 13 so hopefully will be at zero by next Wednesday's test.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Amie hope that hcg beggars of soon. With my chemicals which were around that number it was about 4 days and they were zero.

Storm - yes I'm doing colorado in amongst it all lol.

Craftea - chances are I'll have to do freeze all so maybe we'll end up buddies after all!

Starting to feel a little bit more excited now I've got it a bit clearer in my head as to dates of scans etc.
