Storm - Hi, sorry to see you're still in here. I was successful with my fresh, so don't overthink it (funny for me to say that who goes through 50 different emotions and thoughts in the space of a second) I have just had a FET, so fingers crossed it works
Sorry can't remember who asked, but my test is on Sunday
BC - Glad your injections are going well, it's exciting going through treatment and scary and emotional and trying ha ha

Ok. I know I always ask this (you'd think I'd know it by now) but what's everyone's thoughts on exercise during ivf? Especially the early stim stage. What has your particular specialist recommended? My usual routine (ie for the last month lol) is at least one circuit day (body resistance type stuff) then 2-3 runs and probably an Exercycle. My main concern is wrecking my ovaries lol. And I know core temp isn't supposed to get to high but how do you know if it is?
Am I making sense???

My understanding was you could just continue your normal routine as long as it's comfortable....last cycle I had yo stop exercising a few days before EC and didn't start back til a few days after transfer. I'm not entirely sure about the increased body temp as it seems to me that exercise increases that anyway.

Just popping in quickly. Had transfer done and our last embryo is a hatchling, hoping that's a good thing and it ends up being a sticky one! All the best for everyone else!

BC - They say as long as you are not working up a big sweat and puffing, so not too strenuous then you should be fine. I do a 30 minute walk on the treadmill but have pegged it back to a light walk to be on the safe side, it's only for 2 weeks after all
Kiwigirl - Yay for transfer best of luck

Good luck kiwi!!!!
Thanks for the advice re exercise. Don't tend to get too hot and sweaty thankfully so might keep running for now. More concerned about ab work etc. and potentially playing netball on weekend lol.

Hi ladies
I feel like I need to confess it's been 6+ months since I last posted. Sorry for all that are still here and good luck Kiwigirl.
Re. Exercise and keeping body temp and puffing etc. down, do you think this should happen before egg collection or once implanted?

Tulip welcome back!!! How's things?
I was thinking the exercise thing before egg collection purely because of the size the ovaries get. I guess the body temp thing would def be something to think about after transfer but who knows lol. The exercise debate is one I hate cos I get so confused.

Thanks everyone! I was told keep doing everything like normal but also remember you could be pregnant. The last time the nurse said exercise etc is all good just dont up the level. She also said that the only thing they know for sure is your embies dont like a raise in core body temparture so no intense cardio, spa baths etc.. Hope that helps!

Just did a bit of googling and most of what I read (overseas clinic) said keep it low impact - walking vs running. Not hard weights etc. as risk of ovarian cortusion. Kinda said if you can hold a conversation while doing whatever you should be ok. I guess it would be ok at the start but as it goes on risks get higher.

Hmm I guess walks instead of runs might be best.
Hi BC, I'm good thanks have enjoyed a infertility thinking break for last 6 months until the phone call I received this afternoon to say I'm booked in for funded IVF in Feb. I hadn't heard a thing so had kind of thought it wasn't going to be until later next year so it's back to decaf coffee, elevit etc.
Any thoughts on whether it's ok/worth while taking supplements like royal jelly, Maca root tables, CO-CQ10 during IVF or before starting IVF meds and for how long prior?

And I was just getting into running too! Oh well. Will do some exercycle tonight instead then play netball on Saturday snd that'll be me I guess.
Tulip that's exciting that you're treatment is sooner than you thought. With the Xmas rush coming up you'll get to Feb before you know it! I haven't really looked into any of what you've asked about but no doubt someone else has.
Hopefully I manage to not be as feral as I was yesterday. I don't ever remember being so highly strung for my other treatments but I guess those times I wasn't at school and wasn't doing end of year testing and wasn't writing reports so I didn't really have anything to get strung about lol.
Have a good one peeps :)

Hi Ladies,
Just popping in to say hi and I keep reading the posts to see how everyone is doing.
BC on the exercise front I would say cut back to light walking only. I know they say if you are a regular exerciser then it is fine to carry on but I was an exercise freak and this last round (#5) I decided enough is enough I need to do everything possible to make this work so only did light walking and I truly think it paid off. I just wanted to give you my thoughts since I know this is your last round. Good luck with it all!
Good luck kiwi and Mrs I. Good luck to those preparing for their FET's soon.
I'm 14 weeks on Friday and everything seems to be going ok. Had our 12 week scan last week and results came back all good. Such a relief but I'm nervous all the time thinking something is wrong!
Always thinking of you all XX

BC i have the same issue. start running then start a cycle so stop and lost all momentum. I've done cycles with lots of exercise (for me) and with nothing more than walking, and it doesn't seem to have made a difference, in fact i think i was probably at my fittest (at least before starting our cycle) when we had a most success. I now trying to keep in some exercise (do an exercise/dance class twice a week and a pilates/yoga class once a week) just for my mental sanity...i cope so much better and am less crazy for it.
grrr body has been aching as if AF is coming for a few days now, start already would ya! lol

Nik wow can't believe you are 14 weeks already! Glad to hear everything is going well. Tulip welcome back from your break! Sometimes the breaks are def good for us! I'm with BC on how super fast Feb will be here! Great it's coming up earlier for you. I feel like AF is on her way, so she may be showing earlier than expected (Sunday) perhaps due to the scratch? In the 4+ years of trying I don't think I've been as excited for her to show as I have been the last few months! Sorry Craftea - I'm at work and had my window open too long LOL I'm slack and haven't yet had the time to chase that up! But will do now I think :)
