Welcome Faith! Sorry I too don't have any ChCh FA advice but someone on here is bound to! Look forward to being with you on this journey!

Sounds like a great plan BC! Early 2017 is a pretty good deadline I reckon. Hopefully we'll still be cycle buddies for our next rounds

I had Jeanie call me this arvo. She said she had a great chat with Neil Johnson and they've decided it's best I go see him and he does the lipidol flush as it's kinda his technique lol she also got my records from FA which showed I've never had chromosome testing!! Seriously I'm starting to really wonder what my doc has been thinking! She said she is very surprised considering it's the first thing doctors think of after just one miscarriage let alone 14!!! So Neil will have DH and I tested and if it shows anything she thinks we should then have our remaining embryos tested! Man I finally feel like someone is on my side! Apparently Neil too thinks I'm not a fertility issue but an implantation alone issue! She is so lovely though! Said I'm the most unusual case she's seen and hasn't come across my situation before so while I won't be seeing her again, she have me her number as she'd really like to know how I get on!

Man it's all just so exhausting!

Hope your appointment went well today Mushroom. How is everyone else doing?

Thanks ladies! I hope someone can help me with FA Christchurch info! They did say there is approx 12month wait but they don't like to commit to giving a exact start!

BC all the best for your not step!

Mushroom, yes I had a name change decided my other one was too obvious as to who I was and with starting treatment I don't want certain people to know all the details kinda thing!
Your appointment sounds really positive and in the right direction.

Storm wow good to see your finally getting some steps in the right direction! Hope you get some answers soon!

Oh Mushroom sorry I missed your post last night! That's great your doc is happy to do the lap and more! Fingers crossed it helps. Have you thought about seeing Pip in Auckland who does amazing things with pain from Endo?

BC I know right! I really feel a little disappointed in my FA doc now knowing that there was so many other things that should have been looked into or other things to try, long before now. I can't help but wonder "what if" what if it is one of these things he hasn't even bothered to test for - and we've paid all this money on fertility cover that we won't get back! Just frustrates me! I haven't even mentioned that part of it to DH cause he will get soooo annoyed that we've spent all that money! Oh well, come to that when I have to I guess.
I've just made an appointment with Neil for 2 weeks time. I'm really hoping he can fit in my flush etc soon after that as I will be CD16 on appointment day and REALLY want to just get back to my FET.

Anyway, sorry for the rant!

Hope everyone has a nice Friday! (whoo hoo!)

Hey Faith! We are currently on the public funding waiting list at chch FA, we have only been on it for about 5 months so will be interesting to hear how you get on. It also doesn't help as the funding manager is away until the 20th.

Storm, its good to hear you have an appointment and things are moving in a more positive direction, i hope it goes well!

Storm! I'm SO glad that Jeannie was a big help and that she has others on your side too. Once the dust settles, if you feel that there were some things overlooked by FA (and from the outside it sounds very much like that, but only you and they know the full story) then you could consider taking it further. THe Health And Disability Act states that consumers have a right to services of an appropriate standard, and also the right to complain. In practice, it means that you have the right to complain to FA if you feel that you have not been given service that was reasonable to expect (i.e. if other fertility specialists would have sent you for genetic screening and they didn't for whatever reason, they they are in breach of the act). It also means that if they don't do anything about your complaint, you have the right to take it to the health and disability commissioner. Sorry, I know it sounds like a massive thing but just have it in the back of you mind in case you do want to do anything in the future. You can also easily transfer to another clinic and in Auckland you are able to go to Repromed or Fertility Plus. We have recently transferred to FA Hamilton from Fertility Plus and it was really straight forward, including transfer of our embryo.

Anyway, just thought I'd make you aware! It's always really have to know what "should" have happened and easier for us to look at it in hindsight, but with other specialists also flagging up things it might be worth following up.

BC, sounds like you are being sensible and level headed as always. :)

Faith, I'm at Hamilton FA we were told 18mnths and it has ended up being 12mnths on the waiting list. Unsure if CHCH is the same or not but might give you an idea.

Mushroom, glad ur appointment went well and things are going somewhere for you.

Storm, wow that is crazy that you FA doc missed so much. Glad to hear you might finally get some much needed answers.

Hi Everyone! Sorry to have been so out of the loop lately. I took a wee break from all the TTC forums and facebook groups after our last failed FET. I tried to have a quick look back on the last few week, but man, heaps has happened. Sorry to hear about those who had failed FETs and who are at the end of the line with time/money/treatments. Welcome to the newbies - hope your stay here is short and sweet (and that your treatments come up sooner rather than later).

Storm, I can't believe they didn't do the karyotype test?!?! What the eff were they thinking. It was the FIRST thing my doc did after my 2 mc's.

I did my first Menopur injection last night. Geez, what a mission. Dh broke 3 vials of solvent before we even got started! It took us neary 30 minutes to sus it all out. I've been down regulating with burserlin for the last 3 weeks, so I hope I respond ok to the stim after all that time. We're hoping for egg collection on the 29/30 May. Gosh, I hope this works!!! It's getting so hard to hear about my preg friends! I've had heaps of wee little melt downs in the last few months, but I guess it's just all part and parcel with this blimmin journey...

Hang in there Faith. I was the same. It is such a long wait to get that final letter!

So I'm still waiting on my AF to arrive so I can get my drugs and its late so I am unsure on what will happen if this turns into one of my long cycles, so might need to ring FA tomorrow too see what they say. Just worried I wont have the drugs in time or will need to wait till August!

Hi ya agirl. Good to hear from you.
Hope the menopur is becoming easier to use. Sounds like a bit of a mission.

How's everyone's weekend been?

Nothing much going on here. Lazy Sunday as usual thanks to the weather and a night out with the girls last night. Was nice just to live like a normal person. Got AF yesterday so trying to decide if I want to do IVF next cycle or the one after or the one after lol. Decisions, decisions.

Sweatpea hope AF doesn't frig around much longer for you! Typical when you want it to arrive on time it doesn't for no good reason.

Hi ladies!

BC that's great you had a good night out with the girls! Hope you enjoyed a couple of wines! Good luck with your decision.... it's not easy is it.

Sweetpea I hope AF arrives for you soon! Like BC said, it NEVER comes when you want it to! LOL

A.girl welcome back! I'm sorry to hear you've had a rough couple of months I too really really hope this one works for you! And yep - it's super frustrating! I really thought I had already had that blood test done, so it's interesting that we haven't! I'm sure Neil will now send us for it.

Auntie, thanks for your message. I totally get what you are saying and it's def on my mind. I feel like I would look at changing clinics, but we are tied into 3 cycles with FA unfortunately (and still only on our first!).
It's all actually become a little overwhelming to be honest, the more I've thought/talked about it over the weekend. But I'm going to take it bit by bit and for now wait and see what happens with Neil next week, and then what happens with the bloods and the flush, then go from there.

Hi everyone, wow I haven't been on a for a while, it's taken me some time to catch up with everyone.

Storm - sometimes having a different doc can make the world of difference, I was really disappointed with FA docs in Chch since our specialist left 2 years go, I actually hadn't been seen by anyone for a consult the whole time even through IVF, now I have a new specialist through FA in Dunedin and she is a breath of fresh air, we just met her again for the second time last week and she even gave both of us a big hug before we left, she is amazing.

Oh I have just read the MIL comments too, we are lucky enough for our MIL not to know anything, only because my DH really struggles to talk to her about anything that really matters, but it's better this way, she has very strong opinions and we do tend to butt heads, so better she doesn't know. I have SIL who kept constantly asking me where we were at, and that "at least you've got one child, and you should just be grateful for that". that one irks me, of course I know how lucky I am, doesn't mean to say that we should just give up our dream of completing our family. You really do tend to see a pattern in who gives advice - it's always people that have their family already. They live in their own bubble!

We are just waiting waiting now for public funding to kick in, I feel like our new specialist has taken all the stress away, and haven't felt this relaxed about it all in ages.

Mushroom - hope you get your treatment soon so the pain goes away.
Star - hope everything is ticking along nicely for you.

Take care everyone -

Thanks HT, storm and BC :-) Gosh, BC, your next round of IVF has come up quickly. Shame we can't cycle together.

Sweetpea, do you track ovulation? Have you done any treatments lately. I find that ovulation (and AF) has been as much as 10 days later since starting all the ivf treatments. So frustrating!!! I didn't ov until day 24 in the cycle we tried to do a natural FET - it stuffed everything up.

Menopur is going better now. We're down to 15 minutes instead of 30! And we haven't broken another vial yet. Scan on Friday to see how I'm responding. Funny how even after 2 failed rounds, I'm still optimistic that this one will be different!

I do hope this cycle goes well for you. Good luck for Friday!

A.girl that optimism really hangs around huh! I have that every cycle... even though 14 times it hasn't worked! Guess it's better to have some hope throughout it all huh? Good luck Friday! Let us know how you get on glad the injections are going better for you.

Sweetpea any sign of AF today?

No, still no sign of AF today! My DH said last night, what if your pregnant naturally? Don't really want to think about that one and guess i hadn't until he brought it up. Normally when my cycle was 2-3 days late i would test as it 'could be this time' but its always negative so just don't bother anymore.
