A.girl thinking of you today! Best of luck with EC let us know how you get on x Layla welcome. Sorry it's been a long journey for you so far. Have you thought about going to see a fertility specialist? Not everyone likes to, but I wish I had sooner rather than wait. Sweetpea that's great you have started already! Best of luck with the injections today! BC hope you have a better day today hun! HT how are you doing? Where are you at with things hun? Big hi to everyone else So Neil was great today! Obviously no answers for me, but he is (also) surprised by my journey. Long story short I have him booked to do the lipidol flush next cycle. He likes to do it before day 12 and I'm day 16 today so will have to wait (lord knows I'm used to that!). He explained the research etc around it and it's actually really interesting. He has given both DH and I bloods forms to check for chromosome, and all the other stuff for me just as a repeat as it's been a while, may aswell... what's another blood test right! He said he is more than happy for me to do my FET the same cycle as the flush, if not, recommends it. He got stuck into symptoms of endo, and suggests we also def look at getting that looked into as it sounds like there is a possibility I have it but suggests the flush first. He also mentioned surrogacy - which may end up an option to think about for us. So that's where I'm at! Man... it's non stop! Eerily enough - when I was meeting with Neil, FA called about me going in for a meeting with my doc. Obviously it's been a while and he'll want to see how everything is going and when we can get back to FET. I'm interested on your thoughts here ladies - I'm not one to like confrontation, and am really worried that'll he'll be super annoyed at me for going to see someone else. Neil had mentioned that FA don't like the idea of the lipidol so never recommend it, so am worried what their reaction to it will be. Neil said I don't need to tell them if I don't want as they won't know. All that may come up is if they see some of the flush stuff in my uterus when they do the transfer but also they may not, but I'm just not sure. What do you all think?

Storm, after you able to take someone you trust, who isn't emotionally involved but can lay out your concerns and be a bit of a champion for you? You are totally within your rights to have an advocate present and often people find it easy easier to be assertive on donations else's behalf anyway! I know I do :) As I've said before, you are within your rights to ask for a second opinion and if he has a problem with it I would be reminding him that nothing they have done had worked so far and that you are concerned that further investigations have not been done by them. If they don't like it, suggest that they release you from your Fert cover, give you a refund and you can go somewhere else! I say this boldly because I am not there one who had to have the conversation, of course. ;)

Hi Storm I'm good, just cruising this cycle. Sounds like you had a good meeting. Glad that you are getting some forward momentum! I would have the conversation with FA, ask to switch Drs if you are unhappy with their service. It is really important that you get the most out of your fertility years so do everything you can to try and make it happen. Well done a.girl. That is awesome! Fingers crossed sweetie. Enjoy a relaxed avo xx

Storm, i agree with AA & HT. Take someone else with you for support and that might help you when you may not be able to say what is needed. You have a right to get the best treatment for you, its your body and its what you needed to do.
A-girl, YAY, thats great news. Rest up xx

Haha AA I totally got what you were saying but your predictive was pretty funny! Thanks for the advice so far ladies, I'm not sure who I can take. I wish my BFF was in NZ she would so come and be that person haha I have an appointment with FA next Wednesday. The nurse said, "Doc has received paperwork for some investigations you have had" meaning the Gastro stuff which I sent through to them 3 weeks ago! They can't really expect me to wait around can they!? Anyway, I'll nervously wait my appt next week.
A.girl go you hun! 12 is a great number! I have everything crossed you get a fantastic implantation number from that too! Hope you are feeling ok xx

Agirl that's great news!
Storm I'm the same I hate confrontation but we have to put ourselves first and do what's best for you and getting to your goal of a child. I'm sure your doctor would understand that!

Hey Faith, Have you received any letters from FA? I received one yesterday so yours could be on its way. Sorry if you have posted it, i have missed a few days worth of chat - the joys of being super busy at work!
Storm, i would def take someone to the appointment with you - even if it just makes you feel strong enough to put your point across. Make a list of things you want to discuss, that's how i make sure i get all my points across.
As for my letter, they finally sent confirmation of us being placed on the waiting list, at least it states we have been on the list since beginning of Feb. They have made the decision for us re trying to use drug therapy on hubby and they want to stare clear of it and have put us on the donor sperm list. We are actually pretty ok with the choice as hubby has decided he doesn't want to put himself through 9 months of drug therapy when it has a high chance of not working. Had a pretty tough start to the week as we found out his brother and wife are expecting, we felt like such sh*t people for not being totally happy! But now, we feel it could be a good thing as hubby still wants to ask his brother to be donor so if all goes well for them we will be asking them.
Hope you all have a good Thursday :)

Storm, is Neil just an obgyn through a fertility clinic or is he just a stand-alone obgyn? I'm glad you have a plan and that he's giving you a different perspective. I think that getting a second opinion is great and FA shouldn't be threatened by it at all. If you want to try something new, they should support you in it. Goodness knows that what they're doing isn't working. That's kind of why I like repromed so much. They support me in just about anything I want and are keen to try new things.
KatieA, good news about the letter! It's great to see progress in this horrible waiting game.
Thanks for all your words of encouragement yesterday. I ended up sleeping most of the day! Feeling heaps better now though. Of the 12 follicles they drained, there were 10 eggs (1 immature and one empty follicle). Of those 10, 8 fertilized. I'm trying so hard to be positive - there are so many things that could have gone wrong and didn't. I was terrified that I would ov all the eggs away before collection. Then I was terrified they would all be empty or have immature eggs. So I guess 8 is ok considering how the numbers drop. The poor girl who had ec just after me only got 6 :-( No updates until saturday when they do assisted hatching.

Yay sweetpea for starting how did your first injection go? good luck!!
Agirl well done - 8 fertilised is a great result! I only got 6 eggs this time and 2 fertilise and 5 eggs my 2nd time and ended up with a BFP and my one and only frostie but sadly they both didn't end well but at least I got my first BFP!! Its all about the quality not the quantity as my Dr tells me anyway so stay positive as its a great number :) I know it can be pretty nerve wrecking there is so many steps to pass in IVF i'm keeping everything crossed for you! keep us posted on Sat :)
Hi to everyone xx

Has anyone done PGS with a ivf cycle? My parents have offered to cover the cost of this in the hope it will increase our chances. I'm unsure if it can be done with a FET though? Will talk to FA about it but was just wondering if anyone had tried it when you have no reason too other than wanting to increases your chances of success

Missy - first injection went ok. Its a strange thing having to stick a needle into you when you know it will hurt and its wrong. Wasn't sore at all so that's a plus and easy enough to do/work out. Now just to keep going for a few days till i add the next one.
Katie - glad you got the letter. I think when family say they are expecting when you want it more than anything it hurts the most! Hang in there with that one.
AGirl - 8 is great to have! keep us posted on how they go

Sweat pea, I'm glad your first injection went ok. The first is always the worst!
Faith, im doing pgd/pgs. I'm doing it for my translocation though. It's such a numbers game! You have to get day 5 embryos to test and that's blimmin hard. I sometimes wish we didn't have to do pgd cause numbers always looks so good before day 5

A.girl that's great 8 have fertilised! Everything is crossed to tightly for you that the numbers stay high come Saturday! As for Neil, he is obgyn for auckland gynaecology group, but is also with Repromed. I went to him through the gynae group though, on referral from my GP I am feeling heaps better about talking to FA thanks to all you ladies hopefully I'll still feel this way come Wednesday LOL [LOL} Faith that's lovely of your parents to pay for PGD. A.girl do they only do the testing on the fresh embryos? I just ask because FA had mentioned it a while ago, but said we would have to wait till the next round (which at the time, we had 4 frozen's yet to use) but when I spoke to Jeanie about not having had the chromosome testing done, she mentioned if anything did show on our bloods then we should then ask FA to test our remaining frozen embryos and that it's perfectly safe for them to do when thawed a bit. So perhaps it was a different thing, so am just curious Sweatpea great the first injection went well! you'll be a pro from now on hehehe

Storm, I know heaps of people in my Facebook group who do back to back freeze all cycles to bank embryos. Then they thaw them for pgd testing. I haven't heard much about it in NZ, but it's definitely possible and done often. I recognise Neil 😊 He's the only one I haven't worked with from there though.
