Fingers and toes crossed for you storm! X

I'm extremely fustrated and upset! Rung the hospital and the gynae hasn't made an appointment for me yet. He only sees people fortnightly on a Tuesday and the next one is 13th September and that's full so the lady I talked to said it won't be til October!
I can't believe I'm going to have to wait 2 months from when the request for a semi urgent to urgent appointment was requested!
I asked if there was anyone else I could see and she said that's the only fertility specialist they have!

I dunno what I'm meant to do!

Think I'll call FA on Monday and let them know what's happening and see if they have any suggestions!
:(

Totally just feel like I'm back at the exact same stage I was this time last year!
Another HSG another appointment and another surgery! It's like I'm on a merry go round!

Sorry just needed to vent!

Hi Everyone
I have been reading this thread for a while, and been a bit shy about joining in.

We have been TTC#2 for a bit over 2 years. Unexplained infertility. A month ago i had a Lap/Hystro and tubes flushed. I was 10 DPO at the time and discovered a few days later that i was pregnant, meaning i was almost certainly pregnant during the procedure.

Roll on a few more weeks and i went for a scan today at 7w3d and discovered the pregnancy is only 6 weeks along so now face a miscarriage (i have a HCG blood test tomorrow to confirm). My FA doctor has reiterated that the miscarriage isn't because of the procedure, but it is hard not to think otherwise.

The whole journey has been hard, but this latest twist has really thrown me.

Its hard to know what comes next now, does anyone know of any stories that could give hope?

Ah, big hugs Lulu that must be really rough.  :-(  I'm not sure how to share a story that brings hope. Many of us have experienced loss and keep working towards have a baby. It is about resilience and faith and being kind to yourself and your partner as you go through the up and downs. Take the time to grieve if you wish, move forward when you are ready. There is no set plan, just do what feels right for you in your circumstances.

How frustrating faith :-(  Can you go out of area?

How are you feeling Storm?  Congrats on PUPO, yay!  Enjoy sweetie, this is a chance you did not have this time last month xx

Hope everyone in Gissie is okay this morning.

xx
HT

Got the most amazing phone call from my mum last night! Her and my dad had been talking and said they will pay for me to get the surgery done privately!
So unbelievable relieved and grateful!
Going to call FA at lunch time to let them know and see if they can let me know how I go about it cos I have no idea!
I have read online that my FA Doctor does specialise in the surgery I need so I'm hoping she can do it for me!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone else is tracking well!

Oh Faith, that is so crap of the hospital! You would think after the amount of phone calls you have made they would have had better news for you! YAY for your mum and dad paying for your op that's amazing and must be a weight off!

Lulu, Welcome to the group! This place is amazing and has some wonderful women full of advice that can help. Sorry i have not been through a miscarriage myself but there are some here who can help.

Well i am about to leave work early and have a much needed family weekend away at the beach! Work has been so busy and things in my head have been crazy so will be nice to have some piece and do something different.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend and will talk soon xx

Faith that su**s about the hospital but wow that's great your parents are going to pay for you to get it done privately! Bet that's a huge weight off your shoulders!

Thanks HT - I've actually been full on busy moving today and haven't really rested much since transfer, which I was feeling bad about, but have done some reading and apparently it's not too big of a deal. I'm just hoping I haven't over done it today but oh well, not 100% pregnant yet so trying not to let it worry me. I thought something strange (first thought was AF LOL) last night when I wiped on the loo there was the tiniest line like of blood. That was all so put it down to irritation from the transfer?

Lulu welcome to the forum and I'm so sorry to hear of your miscarriage. I find it interesting the docs even did your lap and hysto that far past OV and not have a blood test. At 10DPO I'm sure there would've been some HCG in your system. While a few of us don't yet have our success stories to tell, there are plenty of ladies that had been here a while and got their miracle BFP so it does happen! Always lots of advice and support here when needed.

Sweetpea enjoy your weekend! I hope AF arrives for you while you're away

HT thanks for the nice words... we are trying to be kind to each other :-)

Faith that's fantastic news. Yay, that is so nice of your parents and amazing to just be able to move forward without any more stupid delays.

Sweetpea enjoy the weekend! It sounds like a much needed break.

Storm - good luck with your transfer. i have fingers crossed for you.

I was also a bit surprised they would do surgery, but i was so desperate to get the surgery done as it felt we had been waiting for so long. I did say on the day that i was 10DPO but they didn't seem to be concerned. I have spoken to the doc 3 times since op and she has said there is no way the surgery impacted the outcome but i just dont know about that.

I did HCG this morning but results haven't come through yet. The disadvantage of living in the provinces i suppose. I have just kept doing my thing today, mainly cos its impossible to stop with our busy lives. I suppose I will have to stop when i need to go to hospital for D&C.

Hopefully i get a result tomorrow and have a plan of action, until then its all up in the air.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Well I got results back just now and my Hcg has risen. So doc is saying I could be 5wks not 7 weeks in which case all hope isn't lost (but it would be a miracle conception given our lack of sex before and after my laprscopy surgery).
The not knowing is killing me... i have another hcg Tuesday and scan in 2 wks.

Lulu, good luck! That would be wonderful news (and also the quickest visit to this forum, ever :) :) :) ) The waiting is brutal though, so hope you have some other things to think about. Father's Day today and some of you will be feeling it extra hard, hugs to you all and hope next year you get to celebrate with your wee one and partners.

I'm 8 weeks today and have our scan tomorrow so only 26 more hours till we get over this next hurdle. People think getting pregnant is where it stops, huh? Without realising that you never stop worrying. My husband and I were talking the other day and saying how we both felt uncomfortable talking about due dates etc, it felt too blase and as if we might anger the gods. Neither of us are particularly superstitious but every conversation starts with "if everything goes to plan..." or "if this works out..." The upside of the constant nausea is that it's a reminder of hormones, I have a friend who just told me she's pregnant and has been symptom-less for 13 weeks, said that when they went for a scan she was convinced there wouldn't be anything there because she felt so great. Hmmmph!

Faith, did they give you any indication of waiting times when you were booked? I hate to say it but in our health system "semi urgent" can mean anything, urgent can often mean in 6-8 weeks. Still, at least your Mum has offered something wonderful and you can get going with things.

Storm, hope you're doing OK and trying not to fall down the mad symptom spotting rabbit hole! x

Thanks for thinking of me Auntie, I'm actually not doing too bad with the symptom spotting - but don't hold me to they just yet as I am only 3 days last transfer lol so there is plenty of time to crack haha I also think sadly I'm convinced it hasn't worked anyway, given my history so think I'm just going on as normal
I too can't believe 8 weeks is here for you already! can't wait to hear how your scan goes tomorrow. And I hear ya on the conversations starting with "if this works out" DH and I have those a lot!

Sweetpea ugggggh I'm frustrated for you! So typical of AF to do as she's pleases hopefully it's not too far away for you.

Lulu wow that's great your numbers are rising and I hope they continue to do so do for you. Most of all it's great the surgery etc may not have affected it

Bonnie fingers crossed for OV soon!

Hope everyone else is doing well and had a nice weekend

Hey Sweetpea
How many days are you over? Have you a test at home... I normally get my AF the day after I crack and take a test lol.

Fingers crossed Auntie, can't wait to hear good news from the scan :-)

Hi Lulu, it could be a slow rising Hcg? Lots of people have slow risers and end up with happy healthy bubba's :-)  Hoping it all works out for you xx

So wouldn't you know it, think I'm ovulating today and hubby and I aren't talking. argggh. Do I fold?
Edit: sometimes being the up one and one who makes nice to keep relationship fun and happy while TTC really does piss me off. I have carried this burden for a long time and I'm getting sick of it. Because he is spolit rotten he expects more and more from me for less and less of him.  Wanting more babies really messes with the balance of give and take. Sorry rant over.

HT I've been there before!! And I think a couple of times I've given in, and sometimes I've not wanted to let go of my ground and had to miss that window. I'm not sure what you'll do but I'm interested to hear your decision.

Ugh I called FA to see if I could do my bloods on Sat morning rather than Sunday (such a long wait at the ONE clinic in Auckland and I have DD's swimming assessment at 9.30am) and bascically they won't let me she said after day 14 is better and kept saying day 14 for me is Sun... which it is actually Sat. I know it's only one day but I just can't miss this swimming and it feels like too far away LOL I could've held out on not doing an HPT till Sat - not sure I can do that extra 1 day haha
(there's my rant for the day).

HT, your right i am normally the same. So normally wait till the last minute and it comes later that day or the next. Maybe that's what i need to do It was due on Saturday so i am only a few days over. DH even said to me yesterday, you could be pregnant, it would be funny if you were. Not sure i would use the word funny......
And i have been there too, holding your ground is great at times but when ovulating comes in the window your ground slides away. Good luck!

Haha Storm! One more day would seem like a life time.

So had my HSG this morning and to my total surprise and shock my tubes are totally clear! Dye went through them perfectly and she said she cant see any sign of fluid in tube when I said that's what they suspect!
I'm totally blown away that my tubes have managed to unblock themselves!

That's fustrating about AF sweetpea! Hopefully it arrives soon!

HT hope things improve and you have a chance this cycle.

Storm good luck for the blood test!
