Hey guys, just had an interesting specalist appointment today... So since my m/c six months ago I've been feeling lousy, dizzy, nauseous, hot flushes etc.. Anyway I saw a locum, he rubbished the idea that I could have retained products of conception.. Said it was impossible and I'd be feeling really sick. He also said six months is no time at all to not be pregnant after m/c, and, while I agree with this statement I have always found it odd that we concieved immediately twice, and then not at all for six months.. And we have sex every day or every second day period.. So, the specalist today has recommended a D&C after my scan showed retained products of conception, and, fluid in my uterus.. So I was right ages ago.. I'm pretty f**ked off to be honest, six months of heart ache. So lucky me I get to go I for a D&C, good news is, we should concieve just fine afterwards all being well... So, moral of the story is, follow your gut.. Two doctors visits and one specalist later and hopefully my just about at the end of this bloody m/c saga! Rahhhh!

That's pretty crappy really, I found when I went to my doc the other week she was really proactive about things, saying 'if this comes back high we with do this', and 'if still not improved you will go for a scan' etc - took it all really seriously. While it doesn't change things, at least you are finally being taken seriously and getting somewhere, hopefully its the end of things!

2Furkids - something to keep in mind here is that my bloods came Back fine.. So, I think any future m/c I have I'll be demanding a follow up scan. Thank goodness we have the money and sense to be able to get a private specalist opinion on this because I could have been trying for years.

Hi girls just popping in to share my update. Had my scan yesterday at 6 weeks. We saw Two healthy babies with heart beats, in two different sacks. I'm in complete shock. Feeling blessed though.

Indigo, I feel your frustration and pain! I HATE the NZ health system. Unless you fit into the 'norm' things often get missed and the ball gets dropped. I'm so glad you were able to privately see a specialist. I have told DH we will be making this a priority for us in the New Year as well, the forking out the $$ really sucks though After all my troubles I have actually already gone through the public system and seen someone, however they discharged me after addressing my issues and expecting me to get pregnant relatively fast (within 3 months) with instructions to get referred back. There was no plan on what if I don't get pregnant again! URGH! I'm worried I have scar tissue from my D&C that is preventing pregnancy. OH MY GOSH Hanger!! I am so freaking excited for you, so so happy!! CONGRATULATIONS! What a shock haha! Have you told any family members? How'd they take it? Do any twins run in your family? Looks like you OV'd already Kaz? What is going on! Have you seen a chiropractor Oxy? I really recommend them! Kumeroa and 2furkids, looking forward to having you ladies back on track

Thanks Nell, I'm feeling really down and out at this stage.. I'm gutted I have to wait to get this sorted when it's affected my life so much this year already :( boo. I think the $350 spent on a specalist visit was a 1000x worth it.. She said I will need a c section next time as I have a defect in my c section scar so the visit was worth it just for that information. To pay privately for the D&C is $5500k so I'm hoping I don't have to wait too long in the public system :( I'm so scared for long term effects on my uterus now :( maybe book in ASAP for a specalist Nell, they take a while to get to you even privately.
Oxy - hope they gave you some good drugs in the mean time, backs are so painful!! And so important to get fit for a pregnancy! Hope you're physio is a good one :)
Thanks Kazper,. My fingers are crossed for all you lovely ladies to get pregnancies this month X

Nell I haven't Ovd yet - I hope. Had negative opks last couple of days. Just forgot to enter them.
Nell hope you get bfp before having to fork out money. We are looking at doing a monitored cycle in January/February.
Oxy that is no good about your back. Hope it's sorted soon.
Indigo Blue I hope your not waiting long. Given the length of time and your feeling ill it should be made a priority.
