Topic: ANOTHER birth dream Posted: 02 March 2006 at 11:28am |
I should have written this all down a bit earlier coz its starting to get a bit fuzzy now, but I had another birth-dream last night - it was *incredibly* vivid, most of my dreams are at the moment, but this was exceptional. I woke up in shock almost expecting a baby to be there ! It was definitely a girl this time, and she came out head first as well... in comparison to the first one I had where it was a breech birth and I remember seeing a little foot rather than a head :P Anyway, I think I was at home, because I definitely wasn't in a hospital bed... and we hadn't had enough time to get to hospital because I didn't realise I was in labour ! My guess is that my 'dream self' just thought she was having Braxton Hicks LOL What a dag :P And so in the rest of the dream my midwife pulled into the driveway just as the baby was crowning... all wrinkly and slimy and red... then after all was said and done, and the umbilical cord had been safely tied off etc. I can remember just being absolutely stunned at the precious wee thing I was holding in my arms... and as I said, I woke up almost in shock coz there wasn't a baby next to me !
I do wonder if I'm going to start having these dreams more often, and if they *really* mean anything (besides the obvious)? Sometimes I reckon they're part of what makes me so impatient for bubs to arrive, but then I give myself a reality check and have to pray bubs doesn't come early... (I know how stressful and dangerous that would be.)
What about you guys? What do you think, and what have your experiences been?

we had a discussion about dreams earlier i think. Anyway, I had a dream when I was preggers with jake. I was breastfeeding him, then he turned to a cat, choked on the milk and while I was trying to help him, his head fell off. I also dreamt he was borno n the 18th of Oct (due 11th) and was a little girl (we didn't know the sex). Decided this was my psychic ability and waited, only to have a little boy on the 25th. after thqat, kept all predictinos to myself.

The first night that Quinn came home with us I had a dream (a nightmare!) That he was crawling out of his cot and trying toget into bed with us! Ihave no idea why but it really FREAKED me out!
I don't really remember having any specific dreams while pregnant, I do remember they were so vivid! I would say that you are just so aware of what is due to happen soon, if it is something that you think about all the time while awake I guess it is only natural to think about it while sleeping!!
