Topic: S26 Stage 2 Posted: 30 March 2010 at 12:38pm |
Isabella has been on this since 6 months and while it doesnt cause her any wind or tummy issues, it makes her spill HEAPS, she just spills and spills and spills! I have white marks all over my carpet everyday, and am having to spot clean everyday lol
She has reflux as a newborn t about 4 months, but hasnt been on losec for weeks as she is fine noe, no crying in pain etc.
Would it be worth trying a different formula to see if that helps stop the spilling?

My reflux girl had to be on a thickened formula until she was about 7 months old - otherwise she would hiccup, move or anything and she would bring up milk!

I would try a different formula. We were using Soy formula at that age but both girls were spilly on the Karicare one. When we moved to S26 the spilling stopped.

Stacey, Nah she isnt really drinking lots, she has been maybe drinking 180-200mls if that some days and is having 3 solid meals a day.
And now that she is starting to crawl is just way worse, butr she spills if she is on her tummy/back if your holding her, when you pick her up
I might try Nuture and see how she goes on that, if she is still spilly then maybe thats just her loL! She's happy enough, it doesnt bother her, but my carpet is hideous!

I changed my DS to S26 Stage 2 at 6 months and he too started to spill more and also became constipated so I went back to Stage 1. If Stage 1 was ok and your baby is getting lots of iron etc from solids then there is no need to change to the stage 2 apparently...or so I was told.

Yeah ive heard that too. I think I'll try her on the Nuture and see how we go, if thats a no go then will put her back on Satge 1. Id like her to be on a stage 2 if I can help it though.
DS was on S26 Stage one then stage 2 and was fine, he hardly ever spilt, and he didnt have reflux.

I think it's the make up of the formula because Cooper did exactly the same thing when we tried it on him, so we went back to Nuture, it seemed to agree with him more than S26.

The girls did the same thing, so they are back on the stage 1 Karicare. So much easier (and nowhere near as much puke). They have been on an iron supplement since birth though, so I'm not as worried about the increased iron that is in the stage 2 formula. My Plunket lady kept her daughter on stage 1 until she was 13 months old for the same reason, just made sure she got lots of iron through her food instead.

Ive had her on Nuture since yesterday lunchtime and so far the spilling has almost halfed, yay! So it seems to be working, another day or so and we should know for sure.
Thanks for all your help :)
