So I have booked Hayley in for these on Thursday. She has already had her 3 month Well Child check with Plunket.
When I rang the Doctors clinic to book the immunisations with the nurse, the receptionist told me we also have to see a doctor...why is this? I thought the Plunket nurse had already done what was needed for this time, or does the doctor check something else? confused...
Our GP's practice is to check the kiddies immediately prior to having imm's. This is so that if there is any reaction (never had one) they will know immediately whether it was something already coming on or not. I like it.
Lycan got seen by our doctor before he had any of his injections...she checked him over from top to toe..i think it's normal practice.....then sent us off to the nurses station for those horrible jabs.
My kids just saw the nurse for all of them except the 6 week ones, but due to mikey reacting at his 3 month ones nothing totally major, but still freaky and Alan after his 15 mnth ones got mild case of messles due to having double ear infection we did not know about before his jabs. We now see the doc before evry jab just to be sure. We will just book apt's now tho cause the nurse was rude to us with mikey's ones one we told her we wanted him checked first.
