Topic: 2nd wedding anniversary Posted: 17 March 2006 at 8:05am |
Hi all,
on the 3rd April it is our 2nd wedding anniversary and i was wanting some ideas from ppl on what i can do to make it special, (baby is due 22nd April) so dont want to go too far.
cant really afford to spend to much either, Kent is taking the day off work and we are probably going to spend the day in wellington just looking around tepapa etc, but some ideas for a nice dinner would be great (preferrably one i dont have to cook )

Hmmm.... A dinner you don't have to cook..... nope, can't think of one!! You could always slater yourself in chocolate and cream and be the main course....

I dont know how expensive it is down here in wellyland, but maybe you could go to a movie with those comfy armchairs! they rock...so comfy when youre preggy (I did this for my partners birthday - I was about as far along as you (our daughter was born 5 days later).. theres lots more room in the armchair rows and you if you book you can ask for a seat close to the end of the row (in case you need a bathroom stop!).
This is kinda geeky, Catch the yellow bus that goes around the city its about a buck each and if you decide you want to stop somewhere (not do the whole route) it doesnt matter..
Take the cablecar upto the lookout at botanical gardens and have a drink looking at the view together..(non alcoholic for you probably!) - if you want to do something special to add to this get some pieces of paper (the square notepaper stuff people ahve by the phone is good!) give 10 pieces to hubby and you take 10 pieces and you have to write things down you like/love about the other person then while youre having the drink looking at the view give them to each other (put them in separate ziplocks..or those lil gift bags (folded up then you have to open each peice of paper! :) )
thats all I have for now lol

The movie idea is great, rather expensive at Readings etc, I think like $28? (don't quote me) You could always go to Petone Lighthouse Cinema, they have lovely cosy cinemas that only sit about 30 people and you share a sofa with cushions - snuggled and cuddled just the 2 of you. They have a great cafe there as well and nice warm open fire so you can take your late' or wine/beer in with you to the film. about $17 a ticket. There may be others similar in town?
Lots of great cafes in Petone for lunch or dinner. Maybe a walk down on the beach or a snuggle in a blanket down by the wharf watching the city across the harbour.
We too are having our 2nd anniversary on the 8th May so am trying to think of something nice to but a bit a romance back into the marriage! A night away from the kids and a sleep in sounds the most appealing to me. I would give anything to wake up WHEN I choose too.
Good luck, hope you have a nice one and best of luck with bub

its our 5th ann in june this year and once again will be in the last trimester.
i dont know whats cheap and nice in wely though, but your ideas so far sound great... te papa etc.. goodluck and hope that you find something special to do!

Awww I wish I'd seen all of these ideas last month (we had our 2 year anniversary), didn't do much - no money and hubby isn't exactly the romantic type!
Kazzle, I just went to Welly for work a few weeks ago. We had dinner at "Fink" can't find the address at the mo, but it's really lovely and quiet and not too expensive either (not that I was paying LOL). Highly recommend the steak!

CONGRADULATIONS!
We had our 2 year wedding anniversary on the 6th March, and went out for dinner. It was nice, but we missed our little girl (3 months) so much that we came home after 2 hours! How sad is that! ha ha
