We bought a Mazda Premacy recently. It drives well has some zip, gets ok fuel economy and is roomy. It has 7 seats, but the 2 in the back are more for kids out of boosters I'd think. Seats seem a bit small for adults. I haven't really examined the back seats too much since we are still very much in car seat ages and I don't think I'd want to put a car seat in one of the backseats even if it were safe (I have no idea if it is or not).

The Premacy is a bit smaller than the MPV. I think I'd passed over the MPV before cause I was mistaking it for the Premacy MPV.

My MIL has one and she really loves it. She can fit 2 boosters and a carseat in it and still have space for at least one other adult in the back (and maybe a skinny person between the boosters in the back ). DH prefers her bootspace to ours (Toyota Estima) as it dips down so seems to have more space to put 'stuff'. Actually I think her back seats actually fold into the space so that she has a lot of flat space in the back if needed.

Yeah the one I saw had the seats in the back folded down & I was impressed with the boot space. So the seats in the back are good? for bigger kids?
Need to find one around here to look at.

Have just discovered that the one I was looking at is the 2006 model so expensive no quite the money I want to spend on a "town" car.
What year is your MIL's one Mummydee?

We were looking at one, but with 3 kids it would be hard if we wanted the far rear seats down for space in the back. So are looking at one that has 3 seats in the back & extra seats in the rear that can be folded away.

Jazzy - we have a Toyoto Estima which is an 8 seater so has 2 rows of 3 seats in the back. If you only have one or 2 boys in boosters, you could probably have them all in the first row, then the back seats can fold down to give boot space :)

Yeah we are also wanting a vehicle that car fit all 3 carseats in the middle row so the back seats can he folded to fit more luggage when we go away. I think its impossible to fit 3 in a row in our current car which is such a bugger. Even the eldest is gonna need to be in a booster for years yet.

have been looking at them also, great space I only have 1 in a booster now, which makes a change from having 3 car seats in the back seat. We used to have a 7 seater yrs ago but only had 2 kids then so not needed but miss it now.

to all you mpv owners or friends/family of owners, do you know if you can fit car seat anchor points in the floor behind the middle two seats? We are looking at one and want our two kids (when #2 arrives) sitting in the middle row captains chairs.
Thanks

My brother's family have one. They have anchor points on the back of the two middle seats. They don't have anchor points for the three rear seats. They like it because they can walk though to the back from the front seats when its raining. All the back seats fold down leaving a van like space in the back. They fitted a washing machine, two mattresses, a portacot and golf clubs in there no problems. The last day we were in NZ they picked up my kids so they had three carseats, one booster, one kid with just a seatbelt and two adults which fitted easily.

We have an MPV and I love it, so far, will see how we go when #3 arrives and DS gets demoted to back seat rather than the middle.
We were looking at a Toyota Ipsum which is basically the same except its 3 seats in the middle and then 2 in the back that split.
A honda stream has this set up (I think) and a Honda oddessy and a Mitsubishi Grandis.
