Topic: Anyone want to take over my life? Posted: 10 December 2007 at 7:34pm |
Gaah! I feel like I'm about at the end of my tether! I spent half of last week on domestic leave with Maddie, we had the weekend from hell in Christchurch, B had to take sick leave without pay today plus we had Maddie out of daycare and now Maddie still has the freaking runs! I'm meant to be doing overtime tomorrow which we really need me to do given the pay we'll miss out with B having to take leave without pay and bills coming out our ears.
Now Maddie still is not well which means we can't take her to day care tomorrow which mean I can't do my over time which is putting us more and more behind.
Sorry for the rant, I know it can't be helped and there is nothing anyone can do but I'm about at the end of my tether!

What time is your shift supposed to be? Maybe DH and I can help? We could look after Maddie?

Paws that really does bites. Will B be home tomorrow to look after Maddie?? Hopefully you get it sorted. Lack of money really does suck big time

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

No B can't stay home...he has no sick leave at all until March.
We're going to send Maddie off to daycare and cross our fingers...after all she is fine other than then nappy, no temp nothing...so maybe it's just teething...

Blame it on teething that'll keep her at DC.

Big hugs hon. I know the feeling. I had yesterday off cos Gem has temp and sore throat, dh is taking today off. I don't work Weds so we'll be fine tomorrow but if she's still sick Thurs she'll have to go to school cos neither of us can take the time off. And arghhh to the money issues...I'm with you there. Deep breath, it'll all come right eventually....at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Well on the upside....Maddie is back to her perky self and is at daycare...runs seemingly behind us, B is at work...and I'm stuck at home with my tummy still feeling grotty....I'll have to make a last minute decision about the 5 hours OT, see how I am in an hour but it doesn't look promising!
Gaah! I hope Gem is feeling better soon and here's hoping C doens't come down with it! (or should I have not jinxed everything with that comment??)
We've decided that next graveyard oppotunity that comes up I'm taking though, we'll see how it works out. But it would mean that even though my sleep pattern would be up the whop and I'd be relying on a LOT of caffine...we wouldn't be losing money or sick leave like this.

I know what you mean. Do you know how tempting returning to shift work is at the moment? More money, less likely to have to take time off for sick kids, someone covers your workload if you are sick.
Ah well.
Hope your tummy is good soon.
And no, you didn't jinx it....Gem often gets these sort of things and Cam seems to miss them. Touch wood!
