Topic: Anyone with Birthright Obstetricians? Posted: 21 April 2013 at 3:32pm |
Hi there, just wondering what their costs are these days? I used them last 4 years ago so assuming they have had a price increase since then. Thank you :-)

Hi Mumma2be, I haven't used Birthright, but called AOC. Their price is $4800. And a couple of others that I've called charge about the same.
A friend who had used AOC about 5 years back and went back to them for her second child was charged the fee she paid with the first child - about $3000-odd. It may well be the same for you with Birthright. Maybe call them and have a chat - see what they say.

I'm deciding between Auckland Obstetric Centre and Birthright, don't know which to go for. I know they both are around $5000.

Hi did anyone use birthright? I've just booked with them as everyone else is full. Can anyone share their experiences.

Hi,
I am also interested in Birthright. Looks like no one has responded. Have you met with them yet? My main concern is that they want you to sign up to pay before even meeting anyone to answer any questions.

Hi, I had my first meeting with them 3 weeks ago. They asked me if I wanted to continue care so I assume if you don't like them you don't need to continue. It's a lot like my midwife meetings but I get a much better vibe from them and the information is great. I got to ask all my questions so bring them prepared. I asked a ton and was not rushed. Also if it's your second baby bring information about your first. I'm sticking with them as my first deluvery had complications that will affect this pregnancy and they seem really professional and I trust them

When do they make you officially sign up and pay?

We signed all the forms while we were there, but after the appointment they asked if we wanted to continue and took the first payment then. There is a payment schedule but best to call them and see what their rules are.
It is up to you, but if you are able to get a good midwife, one you trust, feel good with, is on board with how you want to give birth, then you should go for the free option as OBs are very expensive and you get referred to one anyway if you have complications.
