Paws - your in box is full!!!

BUt to Paws and sterryn and anyone else with the AHR Meridian safe n sound car seat - you might be able to assist ....

We are trying to fit it in our SUV and getting anchor point put in tomorrow morn but in sitting in car today with the bubs in seat behind the passenger seat it doesnt leave much leg room - totally cramped....

we wondered if it is meant to fit in the middle of the back row ???? otherwise we are left with little leg room in front passenger seat

if it goes in middle of back seat (i know katherine did this but think hers is an american seat and there was a need for it)but then an adult cant sit either side

ARGH - help please - how have you got yours - and do you have leg room in front seat when carseat is in etc???? or are we doing something majorly wrong????

thanks

It must be coz the Meridian is longer at the back than some of the other models. But it is perfectly safe to put it in the middle seat, that's where Maya's is in mum and dad's car coz that's where the anchor point is.

Ahhh, I see! Maya's seat in Aust isn't as wide as the AHR so we don't have that prob, altho it will be interesting when we take the gremlins back now that Mum has downsized from the CRV to a Mitsi Colt, trying to get three carseats across the back

And at least I figured out why Sienna was screaming, poor thing is rattling like a freight train, but no idea what set Mercedes and Maya off!

The answer to that is don't let him drive your car, and make him sit in back with her

Oh and don't tell him it was my idea!

We don't really have an issue but then I am short!! Ours is behind the passenger seat but I still find i have plenty of leg room. We have a Holden vectra.

We have a Honda Orthia and our Meridian is behind the passenger seat, I have to sacrifice a bit of leg room but still plenty of room. It couldn't go in the middle as Neils great long legs wqould definitly not fit as he has to sit as far back as possible

I have the Guardian model and although we only got it once Erin was 6mos, when Roland sits in the passenger seat (where we have ours) he is a little cramped - no problems for me though being hobbit sized myself

I did have my carseat in the middle of the backseat because I'd read it was safest to have it there, but it turned out that the middle seat wasn't the place where the seat was best installed (the latch anchor points were too far apart so the seat was moving heaps), so we moved it to the rear passenger side. PM Bonnie (username CRS) and ask for advice! You're right, my carseat is an American one so installs a bit differently, but it does also depend on the car's make and model.

When we had it in the middle of the backseat, two adults *could* sit either side of it, but it was a very tight squeeze and they had to reach under the carseat base to find their seatbelts.

Now that it's behind the passenger seat it's wedged right up against it and there isn't a whole lot of leg room in the front, I agree.  And now only one adult can sit in the back seat (in the rear driver's side) as the middle seat is overlapped by the base of the carseat.

We have a SUV, a Terrano and it is behind the passenger seat as well. We have had to sacrifice a little leg room which shocked me when we first put it in! As you know the leg room thing isn't too much of an issue in our household though. We did think about getting the anchor point installed in the middle, but since our vehicle already had anchor points on each side we just went with it. Still love our AHR though

We ended up with little leg space in the front of my car, but when we both go out in it, I just sit in the back. I prefer to be there anyway as I like to keep an eye on Jack (silly I know)
