Hi,

i was doing a search on finger food cos DS loves his and saw people comment on meat sticks???????

Can anyone explain.

Also can I give him mandarin segments, or do they need the skin removed, I gave him one yesterday and then got nervous so took it away and he bit me with his new tooth So I guess he was enjoying it.

Someone also mentioned cooking meat until it was tough and then giving it to chew on, how would you cook it.

Sorry if they sound like dumb questions

I dont give caden bits of meat yet unless its chicken and I cut it into little itty pieces for him and he has mince, because he only has two teeth I worry he wont handle bits of steak and stuff

I started giving him mandarin segments at about 8 months and I took the skin off them and gave them to him like that so he got used to the new food, and now he has them with the skin on but cut in half, soon I'll give them to him whole.

I havent tried the aria farm chips cos new world dont have them anymore, but he loves normal oven fries.

Aira farm chips are just meat pieces (chicken or beef) that look like fries basically and we just bake them. We gave them to daniel to eat when he had no teeth and he sucked and chewed on them and loved them. He's weird now and won't touch them though strange kid lol.

Oh and with the mardarins we never took the skins off them and he never seemed to choke on them

Lol, I refuse to pay for the pre-bagged meat chips, I just cut "sticks" off the side of a steak or chop to give to my girl.

Those meat sticks are gross.. I got some for Alyssa when she was smaller and she didn't like them. Seemed to be just mince, shaped into sticks..

Funny you mention that yumi .. I opened a bag today for Issys lunch and read the back, they are basically minced up meat stuck together with a filler to form a chip

They cooked up nice and soft for a younger baby though and Issy didnt mind them .. I thought they had an icky texture.
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year LFs weight blog

Aria Farm beef, lamb or chicken strips are convenient to have in the freezer for "busy" days. They are so quick & healthy. We have them at least once a week. The Lamb medlions are so yum & tender. We love them here! The trick is not to overcook

You could cut the manderin segments in half, then sucking out the insides is easier

I wouldn't give my boy them either they are really gross. I think it is far better to just make your own by cutting a slice or two of your own stake.
They just look so artificial.
