I've done a couple of canvas's and I think you are meant to put some kind of coating on over top of the paint so I've been told. Is this true? and what is the stuff I'm meant to put on it as well as where do I find it?

It's just acrylic paint if that helps any

Hi

If its only acrylic you have a couple of options:

- you dont have to put anything on it, but it may get dusty over time...

- clear varnish . I would recommend a spray one, you can get it from Spotlight I think or any art shop. You prob just need a very thin coat of it - but make sure that you spray it outside and prob best to wear a mask or scarf around your face. Look for a 'matt' finish one rather than a shiny one.

Check out this site for some tips / info:

Well done for being creative - what did you paint?

I know that hairspray works with pastel! stops it from smudging. I've done it before to a couple of pics.

Yip hairspray works but you can also get proper paint lacker from an art shop but you generally only put that over oils.
