PIL's are coming over today for a visit and some shopping. Thankfully Alex has just gone to sleep so will hopefully have a good one before they come as last time they were here he didn't sleep all day and was rather grumpy.

Did Beau figure out a way to Alex proof your gates, Heather?  I watched Ethan today reaching up to the door on our ranch slider in our lounge trying to work out how to pull the lock down, he can just about reach it but not quite, must have been watching me when I locked it.  I'm not quite sure how we can Ethan proof the door if he does figure out how to pull the lock down and slide the door open!  We have a safety gate across the door when its open but not when its closed . 

Another clever thing he has started doing is actions to songs rather than me moving his hands etc.  I do the song "three little monkeys jumping on a bed" with him and when I get to the line where "one fell off and bumped his head", he puts his hands on his head before I've even put my hands on my head. 

Is anyone putting their Christmas tree up this year?  I have been amazed by how many people with little ones around Ethans age have put their trees up.  I am not because the ornaments would not last five minutes before they were pulled down and am also worried about him choking on them.  I am going to put some decorations around the room such as on top of cabinets where little hands can't reach up and pull them down but the tree will spend this year in its box.

we haven't put our tree up yet but only because I have been too busy, we were thinking of either putting it up in the play pen, or by the fire with the fire guard around it.   

I wondered about putting it where Matthew could reach and putting simple decorations - like bows on it, but DH thinks we should have it out of reach.

morning all another beautiful day here which is great as I want washing all done before we head up north tomorrow for other brothers wedding.

We're off to Thames today for lunch with the in-laws. FIL's birthday so planning on heading out somewhere for lunch. We are so busy now until Beau heads away. Up north tomorrow til Sunday for wedding and then New Plymouth on Tuesday til Saturday and then Beau heads away for his first trip on the Tuesday. I am pretty sure we will do our Christmas early prob the 20th just do presents and something together. Oh well better get off here and get ready to go. Have a good day!

Another lovely day here today....all my nappies out on the line.

Have been to the drs this morning as Joel wasn't getting any better, in fact getting worse......he now has a chest infection, his ears are starting to go as well and his throat is swollen and red as well, poor wee man. The dr said it has all started with hayfever like mine did! and Leah also has the chest thing too! So both on ab's now.

Not so happy here, between they woke every hour last night so am fairly shattered today. At least he happily took his ab's and hayfever stuff this morning. The dr has also given me some vit c drops, Joel loves his fruit but still has a yucky butt so I am trying not to give him any so this way he is still getting some vit c.

oh your poor MIL Heather. That was nice of you to go and do stuff for her.

i havnt posted for ages. Too lazy! have been reading though.

My madam as started throwing tantrums when she isnt allowed to do what she wants and if you pick her up she kicks and kicks me in the tummy which isnt good
She is good most of the time though so that's good.

We are currently trying to buy our first house before the baby arrives. Man its a lot of effort! Exciting though

Hope you all have a great weekend!! We are off up to Rangiputa (up North somewhere) for brother's wedding. Bit worried about the big drive up there with a little man who doesn't like to be 'tied down' for to long anymore but will have someone in the back to entertain him.

Hey all well we are all good. Kade is still not walking he doesnt appear to like his feet that much but thats ok he will get there when hes ready!! We are on the countdown to christmas so cant wait!!

I've read and been told that crawling for a long time is excellent for their left/right brain development which aids their writing and coordination so it's a good thing! My boys are still the same but Eli's taken maybe 10steps now but 99% of the time is crawling & cruising furniture. I think I am finally ready for them to crawl which I haven't been until now.

You should ask your daycare to not tell you if he does his first steps there. I think the standard is for them to not tell you. My friend who used to work in a childcare centre would say "ohh, I think he'll walk any day now" when he actually took first steps at daycare. Much nicer on the mum to experience than missing those milestones.

I hope the teething stops for Daniel soon.

My Inlaws are here from the UK for a month on Friday so can't wait to share some special moments with them. DH is off work on Friday too and luckily our last multplie birth playgroup is Monday so DH,I & the inlaws will all be going (all for the first time apart from me) so they'll enjoy watching all the twinny's running/crawling around.
