Topic: Baby Shower Game Ideas - Help Please? Posted: 20 November 2009 at 12:59pm |
I've been put in charge of organizing 3 games for my friends Baby Shower tomorrow (Was only told this last night bless her) ...can anyone give me any ideas as to what we could do?
I am very short on funds so preferably things that don't require too much gear ...or can just gather stuff from around the house.
I'd appreciate any advice you can give me at this point. My internet keeps spitting the dummy when i google the topic and open foreign sites ...that's dial up for you.
TIA

You might want to ask your friend but 'paint the belly' is good and cheap.
You could get a plant and have people attach well wishes to it.

Guess the size of the belly using a piece of string.
Guess the baby food. Take the labels of 5-6 cans of baby food and get each person to try and guess the flavour.
Smell the nappy. Similiar to guessing the baby food but get nappies and fill them with a bunch of different chocolates etc. (anything that looks like poop)
Guess when the waters will break. Freeze a small baby in a small bowl of ice and get each guest guess when the baby will be free. Closest guess wins. Just make sure its not too frozen so that it will melt before the guests leave.
Fabric painting baby singlets.

Guess the number of jelly beans in a babys bottle.

At my friends baby shower i recently went to we played a memory game - we got shown a bunch of different baby items e.g dummy, bib, nappy and then had a couple of minutes to try and remember them all and whoever wrote down the most correct answers won.
we also played another one (cant quite remember it) but we had a couple of words (i think they were baby related or else they were the persons name) and we had to write down as many words that we could make from the letters. the person with the most words won.
and we played a couple more games but i cant remember them!
the prizes that we got given were a bar of chocolate, a little pen and notebook, a shopping list thingie and a calendar.

At a friends shower we played a game where everyone had 3 pegs each to put on their top and basicly they game was to not say a selection of words like baby, cute hhhmmm can't think of the rest. If you said the word and someone heard you then they took your peg and whoever had the most pegs at the end won. Was very funny to have a whole lot of women at a baby shower trying not to say baby related words.

Guess the size, weight, date and gender of the baby.
One that was played at my baby shower, was they blindfolded me, and made me undress a doll and dress it again - all for everyone else's entertainment of course!
Another one is races or competitions about folding the old style cloth nappies.
One we played at my baby shower again was "under / over" with a piece of string for each team. Line up two teams as for a boat race. The string goes up for the first person (so up the trouser leg and up the top etc etc), and down for the next person (so down the top and down the trouser leg) until the piece of string has made it to the last person.

One I've done a few times that people seem to enjoy is "Don't say baby." each guest is issued with say 5 or 6 saftey pins that they wear on their. When the game starts (can go as long or short as you want) people can't use the word baby. Every time someone is caught saying baby they have to give a pin to the person who caught them. winner is the person with the most at the end.
You can also google baby bingo for bingo cards, just supply a small prize like lollies or something.

Everybody gets a piece of paper & a pen. They have to put the piece of paper on top of their head & try draw a picture of a baby (they obviously can't see what they are drawing as they're drawing above their head with their head as the table). Person who's picture looks most like a baby wins.
Everyone has to bring a baby picture of themselves to the shower. You put all the photos on a board & everyone has to write on their piece of paper who each photo is of. Person with most correct answers wins.

onsie painting with fabric paint
journal for baby - everyone writes a note to baby and is filed in a album (did this for bf and she loves it - reads it all the time).
