Topic: Bfeeding Mums? Posted: 22 October 2008 at 8:31am |
When did your period return?
With the boy's I got it back exactly 4 week's after having them and was still feeding at the time, but not very well.
This time I have not got it back I am starting to wonder if maybe I am PG(we have not used anything for contriception) my tit's are sore, but I can't tell if this is due to feeding or not.
I would rather not be tihs soon, but more worried bout what other people will say I can hear teh comment's now.
anyway enough ranting from me.

I haven't got my period back yet, Hayley is nearly 4 months old
Don't worry about others and what they say (easier said than done, I know!) its your family and your children
Can you get pregnant without having your period back? I have no idea, so have been using contraception every time!
Take care and hope you find out either way soon

Butterfly I got mine back when I started on the mini pill but only once. I'm a little concerned like you and can totally relate to the what will people think comment. I'd suggest just doing a test for peace of mind.

about 6 or 7mths I think. It's quite normal for AF not to returnwhen bf, so you might not have to hear those comments yet!

My baby is 11 months and I am only feeding her once a day but still haven't got my period back. So I guess everyone is different.

I didn't get mine back until just before Blair turned 10 months old (and yup I tested). Then had a 42 day cycle (and yup had to test again especially with special hugs around what I thought would have been O without proctection), and now I've just had a 23 day cycle.

Mine came back when Ems was 4 months old. She's just turned 8 months, still BF, and I've had 3 AFs so far. The cycles have been about 35 days and AF is heavy and lasts up to 7 days, with spotting in between. Whereas before Ems was born I was a pretty regular 28/29 day cycle with regular/lightish AF only lasting up to 4 days and never spotted in between. I wish it had stayed away longer though. Feel a bit ripped off!

Lil miss is 15 weeks and I'm having a bit of random spotting but still no AF. Gremlins were 10 weeks and Maya was 16.

LOL Emma. I know you mean when Maya was 16 weeks but just have to say that reading your post makes me chuckle at the thought of not having AF return for 16 years. Now wouldn't that be fantastic

Tammy, yep you can get PG without getting AF cos you can still ovulate prior to AF arriving.
I had random bleeding for one day at six weeks, but have had nothing since (Daniel is now 3 months) but I have had changes in my cervical mucous, so something is going on. My current birth control is abstinence

I got mine back when DS was 7 mths. He started to drink less once he started eating more solids.
Looks like it is just one of those random things of when it comes back.
Maybe you should do a test to rule it out (or in).
Good luck

Well good luck then And I just noticed, Michael and Emily have exactly the same age gap as me and my sister! (2 days short of 2 years). Cool!
