Topic: blisters!!! Posted: 18 May 2006 at 4:10pm |
I went for my walk today at 9.30 that lasted about an hour then went shopping with a friend. Have been on my feet all day and wore sneakers. I felt a tightning in my foot under the toes and thought they were just getting hot and swollen then I was walking along and felt like my whole foot burst. It was scary. Didnt wanna look. Felt like it was a big cut. It was a blister and it popped. It hurt so bad and now I can hardly walk Joy Joy!!! Do you think its is my shoes. They dont feel tight or just the weight Im carrying??

I would guess (not being a podiatrist ) that it was your shoes. I developed a blister from a pair of sneakers a couple of weeks ago - after I took them off I discovered I'd worn a hole in the back, right where the blister came up! Maybe your shoes have worn a little unevenly with a result of blisters.

How old are the sneakers? And are they skate shoes or runners?

I would definitely say it's the shoes. I'm not a podiatrist either, but I worked in a sports shoe store for a long while and learned far more than I ever wanted to know about feet and wearing the right shoes for the right activity - plus the problems you can run into.
If you know you're going to be on your feet for a reasonable length of time, and especially since you're pregnant, wear a running shoe or especially designed walking shoe and *not* sneakers or slip ons - as you would have discovered already, blisters are just one of the issues you can encounter.
That said, I certainly hope you don't get any more !
