Well as some of you are aware of my little man has had diarrheoa for the last three weeks now, been back to the doctors a couple of times after the initial visit. Had to take some lovely samples and they came back all clear so not a bactarial infection. Today he said we would get some bloods taken. I went into Medlab and I thought I was fine with it all - probably just as well the lady there wouldn't take his blood as she doesn't do it through a needle and syringe and told me to come back tomorrow morning when another nurse was on. Called into see a friend of mine on the way home and was telling her and then the tears just started rolling and I'm not even sure why.

Okay I am preparing myself for tomorrow. I know this is peanuts compared to what some of you are going through right now but yip I'm a big softie.

There's nothing harder than trying to be strong for one of our own wee ones, I hope it all goes well for you tomorrow. I'm sure the nurse will know what she is doing and also what to expect from you. Keep strong

anytime our kids are sick - it's hard. and yes, it may be harder for some of the ladies here whose children are very ill at present, but that doesn't make it any easier for you!

I would HATE to have to get blood taken from my two. it would upset me too! I'm sure you'll both be fine tomorrow./ kids are funny, they forgte about it all about two minutes after it's finished.

Andrew needed to have blood tests a few weeks ago and I found it really hard. The lab people were really great with Andrew and he got a good little certificate to say he was a brave boy having a blood test. They take it the same as an adult but they have a long tube for the blood to go into not straight from the plastic thingy that the needle is by. If you can have someone else there do it, I found it easir to have DH there holding Andrew and me distracting him from the lab people.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Just back from Medlab and what a brave wee boy I have, he didn't even wimper and he sat nice and still also. He got his certificate too. Mummy thinks he even deserves a little something for being so good.
