This is probably a stupid question but can you freeze formula? It takes me ages to express so I've bought a carton of S26 Pour and Feed for Samara's baby rice but only use a little bit then have to throw it out so thought if I could freeze it.
She had an allergic reaction to the Nuture formula so hopefully she won't react to this one as I want to start her on formula around 6 or 7 months.
Yep you can freeze it. I used to freeze some of the gremlins formula in ice cube trays that way if I accidentally heated it too hot, or had to make it up with boiling water and didn't have time for it to cool, I could throw in an ice cube or two and it didn't affect the powder:water ratio.

PS. What sort of reaction did she have? If it was an allergic one then it's probably the cows milk protein which is in all formulas so changing brands won't help, you'd need to see a doctor and talk about other options.

Nooooo! Don't go there with any of the dairy formulas! Best to talk to your doc about it first and get either skin prick testing or a RAST done. That's what happened to Maya when she first had cows milk formula but I didn't realise it was an allergy (dumb me!) and thought it was just her jumper rubbing on her face
I've always found the Karicare dieticians really helpful too, the 0800 # is on the can, they can send out sachets of soy or goats formula for you to try.

If you are only using the formula for the rice I wouldn't bother and would just make it with water. I make Spencers with water and i don't think it really matters. Definately talk to someone about the reaction. Spencer is on neocate because he had a reaction to formula when I weaned him (constipation, reflux and ezcema), I was told that as he is allergic to cows milk it would be the same for goats and sheeps as the proteins are so similar and that introducing soy too early can cause a reaction to that as well.
