Topic: cant sleep Posted: 05 June 2006 at 11:40pm |
aargh, once again I am sitting up bored, restless and unable to sleep. I am sooo sick of this. The minute i lie down I get reflux and then my legs get restless and I need to toss and turn but it hurts so much to roll over Im just about in tears and thats not including the at least 7 toilet trips a night. I want to be able to lie on my tummy or back again and just have a good nights sleep or at least quality sleep when I do get some with a newborn and all. Sorry just had to moan cos Im sore, tired and miserable.

Hrmmm... restless legs... I sometimes get that (good old lactic acid build-up) and got it heeeeaps while preggo...
My mum's hubby takes some stuff called Colloidal Silver something or rather and it helps heaps. I'll do some investigating to see if you can take it while preggo.
Otherwise.. hang in there!!

I didnt realise there is something for the restless legs thing, its driving me crazy, will have to investigate and rescue remedy, I hadnt thought about taking that, might help me relax a little, thanks for the ideas ladies. Finally got to sleep around 2am and Kobe slept till 7.30am which was nice, he must have realised I needed a wee sleep in. Oh well only 37 days left at the most then it will all be over. I just wish I could enjoy this pregnancy but Im almost to scared to go to bed now cos its such a mission

I remember while I was at about your stage of pregnancy with Andrew becoming an expert on infomercials and BBC world content thanks to the cruddy late-night tv. If the stations were REALLY smart, they'd be marketing to the grumpy pregnant woman contingent....
Happy thoughts for a good, comfortable nights sleep for you tonight.

I've heard about colloidal silver too, but I think it can be hard to get. I remember hearing something about it treating arthritis and joint problems, but good for muscles as well. Have been having quite a few similar issues, but it was nothing short of a miracle that I only had to get up ONCE last night - I kid you not ! Not expecting a repeat performance though. I really struggle with getting into bed, getting comfortable, and then my hip / leg getting so sore I have to turn over. THEN in the process of turning over, I can only describe it as my 'pelvis' popping, really unnerving and a bit sore.
Rescue remedy is quite good, I have one that I spray into my mouth, and although the taste isn't the greatest I have found it really helpful at work when I just want to crash out.
Hope you get a bit more rest and soon Robyn, I know what you mean about the whole counting down thing, aaaaargh !

Maree... I remember watching TV while breastfeeding at 3am and being amazed at how many Pumpkin Patch ads were on... then I realised that they were marketing to ME - the breastfeeding mother up at a ridiculously stupid hour of the morning. Pure genius.
Robyn... I had a look on the net for the colloidal silver stuff but couldn't find anything about pregnant women taking it. It might be worth asking at a health shop for something that can help with muscle fatigue.

I hate all the exercise machine infomercials. My partner does not sleep very well, so is often in the lounge watching movies when I get up to feed Xanda, so I see bits and pieces of movies, which is much more interesting than infomercials.
