I'm sure those carseats are the phil and teds bebe V's in that add. Cause they are black and red.

We're having this issue at the moment. And we had settled on getting a honda stream , BUT our freind has just bougth one and has already had to fix it.
We have an accord ATM and we did have a civic before that, sence a theme here.
Our neighbours have a new Mazda MPV its a van ish but I think its cool.

We have a beach house at the mt and to pack stuff (P&T's dash Double, porta cot, food, nappies, clothes....) its getting hard enough for all that in our car let alone having another one and having to take up space with yet another carseat.

DH won't get a people mover. Not even an odessy. I think he needs to grow up stop thinking he's stil 18 and a 'car enthusiast' (boy racer)

My DH is looking at getting a Mitshibishi Grandis.... has anyone had any experience with them.

I'm not keen on a people mover and I'm not even a car enthuisist. He's still trying to convience me....

I might take my 3 seats to a car place and try them all while I'm there so I know they definitely fit.
That's interesting that the Caldina fits three as that's the next step up from mine and I quite like Toyotas.

TOTALLY recommend you take the 3 carseats. That is what we did. My husband was convinced a car he saw, Audi A6, could fit 3 carseats but luckily I insisted we took the seats and tried it and it could not! Also we tried them in the Peugeot 307 stationwagon and they fit but the car doesn't have the best of reputations... Make sure you actually tie them in when you try out the cars cause they may 'look' like they fit but the seat belts placement may affect the position of the carseat.

We have a s.n.s. carseat which is quite big, the edinburgh seat and a capsule with base so large-ish ones and they fit easily in our Holden commodore.

Good luck

Someone said about the lapbelts folding people in half as have no support for the upper body. Which is true, yes, but not really that relevant when talking about car seats? The lapbelt holds the carseat in place (with a tether is needed) and then the baby or child will be strapped in with a harness in the carseat. We have a Ford Mondeo SW - only have one bubba at the moment, and have a Radian - its in the middle, just using the lapbelt I think.

We used to have a Harness that the lap belt threaded through when I was younger you can still get them. This stops the lap belt from cutting into the abdomen in an accident or emergency stop. My brothers had them with their booster seats as there is 5 of us even with a van one child had to be in the middle seat this was the safest option. Mum was a car seat nerd back in the day, I was in a carseat when they first came out, the nurses told her she couldn't use it because it was 'unhygienic'. Needless to say she ignored them.

But as myonlineself said not relevant when talking about car seats. As long as they are installed to manufacturers instructions.

Off topic, kinda
We were having this conversation last year with my uncle (50odd yrs old) and he was convinced that we didn't need to use a car seat after a child can sit. Idiot.

Who said they have a mazda 6. What car seat do you have in it??
