Hi all. I'm due with our first in May and have been told that I need think about daycare for a year away if I choose to go back to work because the centres are all chocka and they have waiting lists. I'm on the North Shore and want to know if any one recommends a good day care centre. I don't even know where to start looking for one and can't find any links that recommend any either. I'd love to hear from anyone who is able to point me in the right direction.
All the best.

start doing visits to them to check them out...and then once YOU have narrowed down to faves ask around...

i took my SIL with me who works in DCs to get a bit of insight..do you know someone who could go with you also perhaps...

look for one close to home or close to work and one that is not too out of the way for you or partner etc...

holding fee of $20 or so is nothing if you find a good one and can give an approx date now to them which you can firm up say 2 months before you go to work etc

Yep start looking now and then book into the ones that you like. Usually if you give them an idea of when we are looking at putting your child in they can let you know closer to the time if there is a place.

ERO is also a good place to look to see what their report is like.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
