I'm looking at going to teachers college next year, and so I'll need to put Emma into daycare. Can anyone recommend a good daycare centre in the Riccarton/Addington area? Or conversely, are there any I should stay away from ...?

Mine goes to the ABC in Riccarton. We all really like it. So much so that we've moved to Wigram and kept her in the Riccarton one for now.

My DD isn't in daycare, I'm lucky enough to have my parents mind her while I work part time, but I've heard good things about that one in Lindon Grove that Kelly & Nathan Astle own, sorry, don't know the name of it tho.

I used to do preschool relief work so have been in quite a few centres around chch. One of my absolute favourite places to work(great atmosphere, happy kids, friendly staff) was actually the te ao tamariki centre at Christchurch College of ed. Super handy :)

there's one in addington I'd say to avoid: donald ducks.

that kiwi kids one is AMAZING! quite expensive, but if you can afford it, it's so great

I second the Te Ao Tamariki center too- I did relief teaching so have seen lots as well and that one had a really nice feel might be good havings bubs close to you at college as well just with the shaky shakes

My girl is in Annabelles opposite Avonhead school which isn't too far from the teachers college.

Highly recommend them   My girls face lights up everytime we go there and she's so happy and when I pick her up you can tell she's had a great day.  All the teachers there that I have met have been really nice and all the kids seem happy and relaxed
