I've just read this article which suggests that cradle cap is uncommon after three months of age. Is that true? All my girls have still had cradle cap as toddlers.
Also I think Bethany (4wks) has some under her chin. She has a whole lot just above the nape of her neck and on her ears, but the scales (over her milk spots) have me a little confused. Suggestions?

My lil' guy is almost 7mths and still has a touch of what I can only think is cradle cap.

Roo's didn't clear up completely till around 7/8 months, but he had horrid eczema

I still find little patches of cradle cap on my 4 year old twins!
My now 2 year old had horrendous cradle cap as a baby....thick yellow scales from his eyebrows all around to his neck! He still has some on the top of his head. (he has eczema too)

DS2 still gets cradle cap and he is almost 3.
But he also gets excema. I wonder if it is connected - like you would be more prone to cradle cap if you have other skin conditions like excema or psoriasis?

"No particular baby is more at risk than any other. Cradle cap is a very common condition that usually appears within the first 6 weeks of life. In some cases the condition will slowly resolve itself over a few weeks whilst in others it may continue for 6 to 9 months, and sometimes much longer."

My 4yo still has a teeny tiny touch of it, and my 19mo definitely still has a fair bit of hers, although at first glance you really can't tell since she has a reasonable amount of hair.

my 20 month old still has a little bit of it, both my kids have had it rather thick at times, and the only way (I tried just about every 'home remedy' I could find!) was the J&J bedtime bath wash left lathered in their hair for the duration of bathtime, then using the soft bristled hairbrush, rubbed around in circles (sort of a light scrub) but even that wouldnt get all of it off!

my kids all still have a bit at cradle cap and my oldest is 5.5yrs actually i think my emmett is the only one that hasnt got it at the moment. I also have found the j&j and a soft baby hairbrush worked when they had that lovely soft baby hair. now when i get the boys hair cut short i just rub moisterizer into there heads and wash it off. it does work until there hair grows out again.

all of my kids have a bit of cradle cap, I was just picking at Quins the other day  The older ones cos they have so much hair you can't see it though.

I was one of the lucky ones lol my DS's cradle cap was gone by about 4months but it also coincided with an amber necklace so I've always sworn it was the necklace that helped. And I'll continue to believe so too

My girl had cradle cap until about 12-13 months i think. She had it for ages anyway. Luckily she had hair to hide it.
I use to put on olive oil it a few hours before bath time. I would then wash her hair and comb it out. It never got rid of it but did get some out

I noticed C's cradle cap went completely when he had a "clean" diet when he started eating it came back. I think for him it's a sign of an intolerance to something as it does get worse & better.
Notice that a lot the above kids have ezcema in some form as well. I think it goes hand in hand.

those with cradle cap often have allergies and excema like my son did. . and its common till about 1 year or 18 months i think doc said..some get rid of it early and some..not so much ...I used olive oil on Liam's and it got so much worse and was made worse by his allergies apparently.. all gone by about 8 months.. his was one of the worst he had seen it was awful how everyone mentioned it not my beautiful boy:(

My son had cradle cap and eczema on his forehead, the plunket nurse told me to use emulsifying ointment for the eczema. In the end it got rid of the cradle cap too, worth a try since its so cheap ($11.00 a tub) and it's good for all sorts of rashes.
