Thinking of you Lemongirl.
Has your body sorted itself, Jo?
Well had interesting day - saw acupuncturist this morning and he is looking holistically at my whole 'being' - apparently I have a damp constitution and also internalise and retain. Because bub has been so long wanted and hard to obtain, body doesn't want to let it go. Had first course of acupuncture and reike to rebalance system but won't happen overnight.
Also having scan on Fri so mixture of Western and chinese medicine! I'm sure either way we'll get there in the end. Never thought of myself as particularly witchy or nature-ish but there you go :)

Hey MB - love your discovery that you are witchy after all :) Good that there is a plan, however kooky! I think my bleeding is stopping for real this time. Whew. Did the early pregnancy unit do anything helpful for you lemongirl?

Holy crap what a bloody drama. I should have known trouble was brewing when my doctor's office called at 9 in the morning.
Long story short, I've just spent two days in hosptial being pumped full of IV antibotics and now have another 3 rounds of oral to take for the next 2 weeks. What joy!
My miscarriage stats for those keeping score (and in the hospital that's all I've done)
2 Countries
4 Hosptial Admissions.
31/2 weeks of bleeding
5 Blood tests
2 Scans
2 Rounds of oral antibotics
7 IV Antibotics
2.5 Nights in hosptial
3 GP Visits
and one botched D&C,

Grrr for you lemongirl. I so so have my fx'ed for you this weekend.
*TMI below*
Well... hmmm it may well seem that the wichy needles have done the business....woke early this morning with low ache in abdomen then a one-off gush & clots later on. Cancelled scan as was to be an internal one so mw and I thought wouldn't be good idea. Then had 2nd go of acupuncture at 12 today and about an hour afterwards was a complete write off for a couple of hours with intense cramps, bleeding and clots passing (where I also lost my breakfast!). Seems not too bad now. Still a bit tender and sore but relative to earlier is totally manageable (exp with double strength nurofen... ahhhh... drugs!). Am not sure if that's it or what, but guess I'll find out over the weekend. Have another scan booked on Mon and witchy needles on Tues haha!!
TMI over
Hope you all have a great weekend
Take care
MB

Not sure if it's patience, Lemongirl but was just what felt right for me - and i totally believe that those of us in this sucky situation can only make the decision that is right for us at that time. Too bad what other people think I reckon!
Hope it's more off than on for you from here on in.
I had good evening and sleep and am now sitting tragically on couch with hot water bottle and ready to run to bathroom if needed! Guess it hasn't finished yet...

I think my bleeding may have stopped *touch wood.*
Still only halfway through my oral antibiotics which make me feel queezy and give me thrush.
After that one more blood test on thursday and then a GP visit the following one and hopefully I'll be done and dusted with the miscarriage from hell.

Hey MB and lemongirl, good to see there have been developments for you both (if "good" is the right word...).
I went for a swim today, first one since I found out the baby was dead. It is strange picking up threads of life again - I had started pulling out of various things I knew I couldn't see through because I was having a baby, but here I am getting back into it all again.
Sigh
Anyway, summer is coming, and I'm sure all of us could do with a dose of that! :)

Hey jo,
I'm glad things are getting back to 'normal' (god I hate the word). To be honest (and as insane as it sounds) I'm actually hanging out for my first period which will be the surest sign of that.
I'm on my first day without a pad in a month. *doing the happy dance*

Yay for the happy dance! I'm still hanging out for that day (am soooooo over pads - feel like i'm 14 again!).
And I agree, Jo - it does feel odd picking up things that were stopped cause of the bub - I had yum cha for lunch today and felt a bit guilty
I am finding things very odd at the moment - I guess cause it's been 4 weeks since the 3 of us found out about our bubs, but only 4 days since I actually miscarried and it's interesting seeing different people's reactions. The sympathy/empathy phase happened 4 weeks ago I guess.... not that I've told that many people that things finally happened this weekend - I certainly find that most people know so little about missed miscarrige (and up until 4 weeks I was also one of the blissfully unaware!), let alone the idea of waiting to miscarry naturally weeks later. Anyway, excuse my musings... just thinking aloud via writing I guess!
Just reread above and doesn't really make much sense, sorry!

it makes perfect sense.. until you go through it i dont think you really can understand really.. soooo many people expected me to just be over it by 4 weeks later..I'm still not over it.. but when E came along that helped me a bit.

Four_eyes your right, you never really know how hard it is until you've gone through it.
I know my mother had 3 miscarriages between my sister and my brother but it didn't really phase me at the time (natural as I was only a child). I just remember her lying in bed crying. When I was growing up people would often make these stupid comments about my brother being an 'afterthought' due to the the fact I was 10 and my sister was 7 when he was born... little did they know.
I'm off for my (touch wood) final blood test of this pregnancy at lunch.
4 weeks today since my D&C seems like forever but just yesterday at the same time.

I'm actually quite confident that my HcG levels will be good.
They were already down to 900 when the miscarriage was officiallly detected in Australia (4+ weeks ago) and were 13 last week when I was in hospital. But I suspect they want to make sure I make it to zero to rule out anymore retained product or anything molar.
Anyway my blood is off to the labs now... just got my final GP visit and 6 more drug cocktails to take!
