I quite like red hair, have died my own hair that colour a few times...have also died it blue, purple and bright pink though Ah teenage years.

I think Jett is a cutie and he would be even if his hair was purple!!!

Another thing about red hair is that the gene is expected to have died out within 100 years (I read that in a book by Robert Winston I think) and so having red hair is extra special because we're an endangered species of sorts!

ANNNDDD Shell - red hair is a double recessive gene (is that the right expression?), so someone, somewhere on your DH's side would have been a Ginger It has to be carried by both parents to pop out in le kidlets.

Also you guys, re your comments about me. I love you too!!

I love red hair. I have natural reddish highlights (which are rapidly going grey at the moment urghh - now there's a nasty hair colour - grey!! ). And if you think red hair comments are bad - try growing up with really pale skin and millions of dark freckles, what can I say except kids can be cruel.

And Red, I can't wait for my redhaired nieces and/or nephews, hurry up!

Sorry i havnt read the other comments! cos im lazy but i thought id add my 2cents!

My DH has fire red hair (darker in the winter though) and i LOVE it!!!!! he was bleeching it blonde when i first met him so i told him to stop it!! hes always complaining about it and i always say "well i married the wrong guy then if i didnt like it!!! so duh! of course i like it!!" it gives him character!! and noone ever forgets him!! (being 6ft4 makes him unforgetable as well!!). He has the skip generation gene - his grandad had red hair (so did his great great grandad) and his father has blonde hair and his mother has dark, he was the only 1 of the 3 kids to have red hair (his sis had blonde, he has red and his lil bro has brown), now i have auburn hair and he has red but we ended up with 2 blondes!! (and blue eyed also!!!????) so i dare say that our grandbabies will have red hair

I have always got comments (about Bay and now Astin) such as "UH OH! it looks like his hair is going red!!" to which i answer "so what!!!?? its cute!!!".

Italiah you have 3 ABSOLUTELY GORGOUS!! kids!! red hair or not!!! and i reckon its cool having kids that all look different!! you get to see all the different combinations you can make! instead of having 3 that look the same!! (not that theres anything wrong with that either!!!)

Wow, there's a lot more red-heads out there than I realised! And you're all awesome people - SO it really doesn't matter what colour your hair is does it! It's about your personality! I just hate that it comes across as a negative when people comment on it.
