I'm not an experienced allergy mum but it looks very much like the rash my mum gets after touching a type of plant that she's allergic to

You can develop an allergy at anytime and basically to anything! If it goes away when you arent at home then comes back again, it sounds like something environmental . Do you have cats or any other pets? New plants or furniture or anything? It does look like hives with the red patches and welts. HAve you done anything different in the last few days/week or put anything different on Ashleigh, different foods etc?

Ouch that looks sore, I hope you figure out what it is that's causing it!
Kinda glad you posted asking this kinda thing, Paris came up in a huge huge rash up her legs around her birthday, but we didn't think it could be food or something because #1 she'd never had any new food, and #2 it was specifically on her legs and nothing else.- we put it down to maybe her skin not liking the panty-hose type stockings she wore under her fairy dress that i had just got her the daybefore, because it was only the 2 times she wore them that it came up, and she's never worn anything like that before, but boy it looked exactly the same as those pics with the welts. it was all up her ankles, behind her knees and around the sides of her thighs in large patches.
(sorry not trying to thread-jack)

Ashleigh's rash definitely looks like an allergy to something Kelly, is she on antibiotics? Could be a reaction to the meds maybe? I am allergic to penicillin and come out in hives and Maya has anaphalaxis to sulfa medications.
Janine, it's tricky to see the pic of Paris coz I have my computer on the kitchen table (yes, Willie has already told me off ) and the glare from the sun on the screen is playing havoc with my eyes, but it does look like it might be an allergy. It looks almost like chafing, you know the kind you get when you're wearing a wetsuit and the salt water rubs between the fabric and your skin? Could be some kind of chemical traces on the tights maybe?

mm that's what i was wondering, i should have known, mean mummy, tried them on her the night before and after wearing them for 10 minutes i took them off her and it was huge white welts all joined together especially around her ankles and up to her knees (I thought maybe she'd been bitten by a little mozzie as i had found 1 or 2 flying around earlier that day, but the next day after her birthday it was the same when i took them off her, and that thigh pic was taken a few hours later just before she went to bed.

Ouch to Paris's rash aswell
Aimee - we have two cats and I try her with new foods all the time !! No new furniture or plants or anything.
Emma - She isn't on antibiotics. She did have a prescibed ointment for her eyes though. I have been using it since Tuesday and put some on before bed last night but none since. Can it take a little while for a reaction to occur??
She had a couple of spots when I got her up from her sleep at 11.30 but they disappeared then nothing until I just gave her a bottle then put her into bed for another sleep and she has some new ones on her chin and cheeks. She couldn't suddenly develop an allergy to her formula could she? I've also just started using a new dishwashing liquid but I think I only started that yesterday (use it to wash her bottles) so she would have already had the rash then.

A bit late, but because of the welts is looks very much like an allergic reaction to me. Grrrr, nasty allergies!
I hope you can find out what caused it. Then again, be nice if it just doesn't re-appear at all, eh!
