Ummm, I guess what Lu said - perseverance. I could get Maya to take water out of a sipper cup way before she would take milk out of anything except a boob. I was actually thinking today how good she is at drinking water now, but I guess that's coz it's all that's on offer.
Sorry I don't have any advice, but good luck, and stick with it!

yep, perserverance and just making sure it is always available... both my boys liked drinking out of my mini pump bottles, whenever i put it down they would pick it up and have a swig. so maybe try that.

Yep with both my girls i just left little sippy bottles laying around on the floor for them to play with and sip at etc. Didnt take them long to get the hang of it.

Yep, keep it going.
Also, if constipation is already an issue, you could try adding something sweet like a teaspoon of prune juice or brown sugar (both have laxative effects) to the water (per 50 mls). We found a brand of sipper cups at the baby factory good for Andrew - they don't have handles and are described as disposable but you can re-use them (because they are dishwasher friendly plastic). They're about $11 for a pack of six and come in rainbow colours. If you want the brand name, PM me and I'll dig out one of our spare packs.

I did/do what Mairia said. I always leave a drink around for him to grab when he is playing, also when he is eating in his highchair. Joey is a really good drinker now.
