So is anyone else gearing up to be a duck shooting widow from this weekend?? DH is so excited, tis about all he can talk about at the moment!!

So I am leaving the nest and heading to Auckland for the weekend - to get away from the drunked ducks of course!!

Poor ducks! They're so much nicer when they're live and eating breadcrumbs!

I don't actually mind the taste of duck so long as it comes with a bit of orange sauce, and I don't think too much about what I'm actually eating

YAY im so excited ive booked my mum to babysit and im off with the boys aside from the sore shoulder from the shotgun (im not very heavy so i really get thrown back by it) i love it!!!  I love duck as well.  We only go opening weekend and im really not into killing things but make an exception once a year so i just think about the end cooked result instead as i fire   or let the boys shoot the ducks and i shoot the empty bottles

I'm a widow this year anyway . I *think* DH is going out with my uncle next weekend, now he has a gun licence (with so many different guns on it), thanks to the Army.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Yeah I am not a fan of duck either - tho DH is going to breast some this year, and I will try cooking just them... He prefers it when his mum cooks them anyway!

I just don't get the excitement thing!
