Thanks girls :) I've tried talking to the BF about it, but the poor thing doesnt understand, so I just dont bother anymore. What makes is worse is the pain i'm in from my back (not pregnancy related - but not helped by it) I have to go out today to spotlight and to see my nanna, and i'll be in the stupid wheelchair again, which really gets me down cuz people are ignorant when you're out in it. Its a good thing i'm incredibly blunt and will just tell them to f-off if they look at me funny or they're rude :D I'd love to have a bath and relax, but i'd get stuck in it :P poor old back wouldnt be able to lift me out hehehe. Ah well, hopefully I'll feel better after a little shopping. I'm currently eagerly awaiting mcdonalds breakfast to arrive - mum is finishing work later at 8am this morning and is gonna get it from Kaiapoi for me cuz we dont have one in rangiora :D yay for mum.

Oh MissAngel, that sucks. Pregnancy hormones and emotions drive me crazy too. I hope today is a better one for you and bubs eases off on your back. Enjoy your breakfast! That sounds like a very good start

Good luck for the bloods today Rach and Hooper. It'll all be over soon.

I'm getting pummelled this morning, bubs is on the move! DD is sleeping so I had better get moving and put some washing on the line and get dressed. We're having a quiet day today as she didn't get any sleep during the day yesterday and is really grumpy this morning. Fair enough, poor thing!

Good on you missangel, dont let anyone give you stick! If people get really rude just ram their heels with the wheelchair! hehe did I just say that! O mi goodness! and I am an occupational therapist - but dont worry I dont tell my clients to do that otherwise we would have some very crazy wheelchair drivers!
Sounds like you have a good supportive mum behind you.

I patiently wrote out this whole long post yesterday (patiently, because Xavier kept pressing the SHIFT key) then, right before I could click 'Post Reply', Xavier reached over me and refreshed the page!

Anyway, I can't remember everything I wrote then so I'll say something else instead

Ummm... mummy brain strike... mind blank...

Hope the day got better for you missangel? Breakfast sounded good. (although I havent had anything from McDonalds in about 5 years!)

There is a lot of food talk on here at the moment which means I turn off the pc and then go and eat. Mmmmm...

So did you get to bump into each other today Hooper and mum2emj whilst having the bloods done?

Heres a pregnancy meltdown story for you, missangel it probably wont make you feel any better or even make you giggle but it might show you that you are so justified in feeling like crap and a good cry becuase you have a decent reason.

I have been really good throughout my pregnancy so far, no emotional meltdowns except feeling miserable and fed up when I was vomiting 6x a day for 10 weeks in the beginning... but I think I have just had my first irrational meltdown! And guess what it was over - food! hehe
All day I have been daydreaming about a sandwich with leftover cold lamb my mum roasted for us yesterday and mums homemade pickle. I came home from a long hard and hot day of work salivating over my sandwich, buttered the bread, sliced the lamb, then ......couldnt open the damn pickle jar!!!! Now I am fairly stong and independent farm girl but I tried so hard Im sure I have bruised my hands, and as DH isnt home yet I couldnt get him to do it. I sat on the kitchen floor and had a little cry!! hehehe very funny now. I had to have mint jelly instead! which would have been my second choice!

So as you can see meltdowns are normal occasionally even if you think you are invincible to them and even for the silliest of reasons!

I have to go to a wedding tomorrow! What the heck do I wear! I feel like such a hippo at the moment!
Dont want to buy anything new because the rate my belly is growing I wont fit it for long anyway!

Am I a bit premature in having my bag packed already?? Dont want to jinx myself or anything but just had the urge to get it all organised and it was kinda fun.

Has anyone been told not to lie on their back during pregnancy? I have read it can put pressure on the placenta and restrict blood flow to bubs but at night sometimes I wake up and I am on my back. I dont know why but I think it is because it relieves a bit of the back ache. Should I be concerned?

*Lurker in*

Just saying hi to my dear friend sarah

Hehe Sarah I'm feeling for you with your pickle jar story! Hope you still managed to kinda satisfy your craving.

Been lying here on the couch for last hour or so with Austin on my chest.  Poor lil guy has a cold...real snotty nose and blocked up.  I knows it's just  cold but it breaks my heart to see him miserable

Hope all you ladies have had a good day

Hey Sarah, trust me when I say you will know if you are restricting the blood flow when lying on your back. It is only really a concern once you are getting bigger out front as the weight of everything will eventually get too much but you can feel it & while you are sleeping your body would naturally wake you up or roll you over.
I have to sleep on my side because I can actually feel everything weighing downwards when I am on my back now, feel a little faint & just plain uncomfy.

That's cool that you got to meet - aye!

Hope the jar lid is now off for the next round of sandwiches sarah!

By lying on your back your bump can put pressure on a main artery that feeds the placenta and other lower organs being fed by the artery. Like toni says, you will move off of your back naturally. I always go to sleep lying on my side and wake up lying on my back.

I have felt very short tempered lately which is unusual for me. I am now feeling quite guilty how I have been with DD over the past few days.
My DD is just 3 and is toilet trained for wee's. I have had problem after problem with toilet training her for her poo's as she says its ok Mummy I do it in my knickers that or she holds on to it and does it in her night nappy. I feel a bit crap and dont know how to get her round from this. I think this and a few other little issues have just crept up on me that have just made me feel short tempered and cross at times. Now I'm cross at myself!
I could murder a good glass of wine or 2 but will have to settle for the lager shandy!

Hey girls,

I so know how you feel about these emotional outbursts!!! There are too many to go into at the moment.
Also I am so tired at the moment, partly the heat but also having all the kids home (not so bad now school is back) but I just can;t seem to go to sleep during the day no matter how much I want to

Sarah I too have started packing my stuff... With Alecia, I was packing whilst in labour hahaha this time I thought I would be a little better organised. Tauranga hospital has also stopped supply any baby clothes when bubs is born, so it means that I have to take everything I think I might need!! What a mission, so I rang my MW and got an idea of what I needed.

Does anyone elses hospital do this?

Yeah with the girls we got these seriously hideous gown type things, and singlets. And you just got new ones everytime you needed. it was great because it meant that you never had to worry about doing any baby washing until you got home... but now!!!
i think that they still supply nappies though...

Just check when you go to your MW next or on your hospital visit
