Hi Jacks Mum,
I totally understand how you feel - when I had my nasty cold a few weeks ago it lasted for nearly 2 weeks and was so frustrating because it seemed like it wasn't getting any better. The only thing that I can say is rest up as much as you can and keep warm and drinks lots of lemon and honey .
I am feeling pretty good today - the last few days I have had really annoying back pain and today have an appointment with physio so looking forward to that - it's quite annoying because my back is feeling better today and I probably should have arranged to go sooner but couldn't get an appointment!
Have baby shower this weekend so looking forward to that. Will write about that early next week.
Well hope that everyone is well and enjoy your weekend

Hi everyone!
Yep im pleased with my iron,..was getting worried that it was much lower than that since its been as low as 6 in the past, and I was starting to feel crappy again. Great that I dont need ferrograd tabs!
You poor thing Vanessa, nasty bugs. I do hope u can shake it off soon.
Good luck at the physio Millie. I have an appt on Mon, yay!
We had our last antenatal class last night. Was good, but kinda weird to thing we will all have our babies soon! Learnt baby CPR, how to "swaddle" bubs properly, and a few other last min tips from previous ante-natal class graduates!
Hubby has 3 days off now, yahoo! We went for a nice walk along the beach this am. We are going into his work soon to start scrapping back the vanish on our cot, so we can sand it, revanish it and make it all look pretty!

Well for all my touching wood, I think I have finally caught my first cold of the winter, I feel a bit icky today.
But lots of exciting things to focus on - I FINALLY paid off the layby on our new couch and it's getting delivered tomorrow. If you could see the state of the old one you would know why I am so excited lol! Plus I put the girls xmas pressies on layby - Maya is getting the 4-8 leappad, the HUngry Hippo game and a few bits and pieces and the twins are getting a couple of little rattles each. It's not like they'll know the difference, but Maya migt ask why Santa didn't bring her sisters anything, so figured I'd better get them something
And I was off to JK to buy Maya's summer wardrobe (the catalogue came out yesterday and it's very cool), and my Dad said he would pay for it. Yay!
So apart from feeling crappy, can't really complain!

oh my ladies! i'm so sorry i went awol!!!!! I keep forgetting to check here lol... i'm sure that i'm losing my brain!
well 32w1d for me today - i'm doing well, minus having a really sore pelvis & backpain - as well as sciatica... last couple of nights i've almost been crying in bed, i'm in that much pain. Doesn't help i've started getting cramps as well, nothing to worry about my m/w assures me, but they aren't pleasant all the same! I'm getting a lot of rib pain now too - although that's more just a bit of discomfort than pain as such... Gaby seems to have her days of kicking me to bits, and then days where i only get a few pokes hereand there....
Starting to get REALLY nervy about labour & birth, and was almost at the point this morning where I was HOPING i'd need a c-section so i wouldn't have to go through labour... LOL... i'm a total woos... i think it's these cramps though, they are bad enough, and i realised labour will be 10x worse!
Only 12 days til I finish work now, which is REALLY exciting! Can't wait to just do nothing for a few weeks! Am considering going down to Dunedin to visit my cousin, BUT i wonder if that may be tempting fate.. my sister went to Oamaru when she was 34-35w pregnant & ended up having an emergency c-section in Dunedin.... so lol myabe i'll stay put in chch huh.....
how is everyone else doing? i promise i'll try and get on here more and get to know you all better!
*mwah* love Emma xx

Morning ladies,
How was everyone's weekend?
I had a great weekend. Had my baby shower yesterday and it was such a perfect day for it in Wellington - beautiful sunshine. We played some fun games i.e. baby photo competition, pictionary but we had to use playdoh (sp?) instead and make shapes with it with two teams and the other game we played which I wasn't part of was everyone had a paper plate and they had to put the plate on their head and had to draw a picture of what they thought my baby was going to look like - very funny! I was very spoilt with lots of lovely gifts from everyone.
I agree Shelley time is flying by. I am looking forward to starting my maternity leave (15th September) and I'm counting down the days ha ha.
Hope that everyone is well and their pregnancies are going well

The beginning of another week, eh... Only 6 to go for me now (or so I really hope!) - I am wondering if baby has 'dropped' already though (hold on little baby - be great to meet you soon but you've got some cooking left to do in there!) - will have to see what my midwife thinks this week. Hope I'm wrong!
Really cool to hear that people have maternity leave coming up - that's great! And glad your babyshower rocked, Millie. I loved mine too - had a great time with such a lovely bunch, and beautiful baby gifts (awwww). I've been clucking my way around the house this morning putting them away here and there. Hope it's a good week for everyone.

hey ladies how was the weekend?
we had a cruisy one, thank god, i still feel like crap but am getting better. jack has conjuctivitis which sucks as he was supposed to start in the over 2's at daycare today....he's 2 on friday!!
baby showers....i love them! all those lovely goodies you get given, fabulous!
andie...can you believe we've only got 6wks left!!! i'm starting to 'panic' a little about labour and birth etc but it's exciting at the same time. i think my bubs has dropped a little more too, will see what the midwife says on wednesday.
got some testpots for our bedroom today so must get onto choosing a colour so we can get the room done and move into it. we're in jack's new room at the mo and really wanted him to be in it for his bday, but can't see that happening somehow!

Hi Everyone
Sounds like lots of people had a nice weekend and are feeling good today. I am working from home today writing up appraisals and am really enjoying being at home - feel very calm and relaxed.
In between work I have been washing up some of the baby clothes and wraps etc that we have brought so far - I feel very domesticated and am enjoying pottering around and arranging things on the change table. I want to buy a couple of baskets to put things in on the shelves now.
Baby is still very active and lots of the kicks are up under my ribs now. Not the most comfy but at least it means bubs is hopefully head down.

How many weeks along are you, Katie? I'm just being nosey. I'm always looking at what other people's tickers say, even thought I don't have one myself!
I was blown away by how much I loved washing the tiny wee clothes I've got for our baby... It's weird, suddenly being excited about laundry!!!
And yay for another lady being 6 weeks away... it seems like it's just around the corner, eh Vanessa! But then might be a loooong 6 weeks at the same time - do you get random mood swings of thinking it's all gonna happen so soon, then next thing you know you're all unenthused about another month and a half of pregnancy?! Do you think they're meant to have dropped at all at this point? I'm not going to worry yet unless I actually go into labour, I think, but am keen to see what my midwife thinks.

Andie I am only a week ahead of you and I have definately dropped somewhat - it started at week 32 for me and my midwife said it was all normal for that stage so most likely you will have dropped a bit...???
I have a sneaky suspicion this baby will decide to waive it's September due date in favour of early October - I am trying to prepare myself to wait as long as possible for it to come so I dont get too impatient and grumpy if it doesnt come on time!

eeeek Mrs F - giving up on the September thread already? That usually happens in the last month of pregnancy (deciding that bubs will never arrive). As someone two days behind you, I walk through this thread cautiously in case someone in utero gets ideas....

ha ha Maree, not giving up on September at all, hoping for September, just trying to manage my expectations so that if Sept 25 comes and goes and there is still no sign of bubs I dont go all psycho-hormonal and throttle everyone in sight screaming "i dont want to be pregnant anymore!!!!" lol...

you have a way of avoiding becoming psycho hormonal at the end stages of pregnancy? really? please share...I haven't managed to avoid it for my last two and was planning on riding through psycho-hormones again in about 20 - 26 days time for a good fortnight....

Millie - Glad your baby shower went well! Exciting!
Frantic - I've got my fingers crossed that your bub comes in September and mine in October... coz the way things are going I could well have babies that are due 2 Nov and born in Sept
And Yay for being in the last 6 weeks! I officially have 8, if we go to term, but it might be only 2 or 3...
Anyways, quick update from me, have been soooo busy this week. Had a(nother!) scan on Tues and bubs weights are estimated at 1.35 and 1.45kg each which is awesome, and the sonographer said she can see the fat deposits starting around their thighs etc. which is a good sign. Both still head down, so hoping for a vaginal delivery. Going to talk to the m/w next TUes about what to expect when I am in labour in terms of monitoring etc. coz me thinks it might be a bit different to with Maya.
Oh, and all Maya's clothes got delivered from JK yesterday - she is so spoilt! And I also ordered these Respisense cot death monitors frm www.b2k.co.nz and they arrived yesterday too so we are keeping the posties in business!
Hope you are all well. My cold still threatens but hasn't blown up into a full blown ick yet...

I am having a much better week this week, thank goodness! The physio was off sick on Mon tho, so my first appt is tommorrow.

Then we sat in the dark while DH read 6 "Hairy Maclary" books to "Nuts"(bump) by torch light! Hee hee!
