Well there's lots of little beans in here, ours is a bean too though because we're both ginger the baby is 99.9% guaranteed to be too (poor kid) so ours is a baked bean!
Scan pics as promised...
It was so exciting to see the little heartbeat!

Oh and I think the idea of getting a men's forum on here is great - the thing that got to me and DH about the one on treasures was that the mothers were posting most of the entries. I'm all for it, but we have so many resources for us and it's good for them to get their own space to vent, ask advice and those silly questions like we do!

Great to see some of your little beans & baked beans (love that!) .
I've been trying to think of a name for our bean but just can't think of anything original so far

Has anyone ever taken prescription meds for ms? I am really struggling with mine . I wonder how bad it has to get before your MW will prescribe something? I haven't thrown up but the constant nausea is really taking its toll.
Sorry, little vent there!

my DS was called BOB in the womb (my hubbys name is Robert ) and i have since learnt it also means "Baby on Board"... now my son is a absolutely obsessed with hammers and screw drivers and anything to do with bob the builder.
this one is now called TicTac but am worried as Dh has a weird reaction to Mints and goes really hypo and silly.... thinking this baby better not be hypo! LOL

I know there is some prescription stuff you can get for really bad MS - not sure if its a MW or GP thing though.
We are sticking with 'bean' and every time I burp its the bean saying hello - kinda corny I know but it does mean we can laugh about the burping!

Phew - this forum gets busy busy in the evenings!
Welcome asicsgal - been wondering when you might poke your head in - congrats!!!
Dneyn - is there an instructor at the gym that you could ask - perhaps even have a reassessment of your training programme based on being pregnant now?
Sally - definitely ask your midwife about med options for ms - something constant like that just wears you down and that can't be good for you or baby!
Becky - 'Baked Bean' cracked me up!
Awesome scan piccies too ladies! How excitiing!!!
I was supposed to see my midwife at 10am this morning, she rang just as I was leaving work to postpone until tomorrow - she has a lady in labour needing her at Waikato. Understandable, but kind of disappointed now - feel like I really needed to see her this first time! And tomorrow is SOOOO far away!!!
On a brighter note! Haircut and highlights ready for my 'welding' next weekend tonight

This will make absolutely NO sense to others on here I am sure!
DP and I both play World of Warcraft, and we have gnome characters ingame. We have called our 'sprocket' (which is very gnomish) "Nonkee" (a mixture of our online character's names).
We're sooo damn geeky!

Well, asicsgirl - very exciting news. Will add you to the due date list.
Mens forum is a good idea, just not on here. Would hate DH's to see that sometimes its actually greatf un being a SAHM
Hmmm, no cute name for our fetus. That is about what it is called at the moment
I have my MW next wed and am really looking forward to it.
Nothing new to report.

*Lurker in*
hey guys,
I'm having some very average days with constant nausea - fun! Normally I would just suck it up, but we are frantically trying to get our house in order to go on the market in a couple of weeks so I am really busy.
I had to take DS to the doctor this morning, so I got him to write me a script for Maxalon at the same time (anti nausea meds). He said it is totally fine to take, and he didn't question me at all when I asked for it. Just wrote it out.
Have just taken my first one, so here's hoping!
hope everyone else is feeling well
xx

hey potato! Good to hear from you
Hope maxalon works - that might be what you could ask for too Sally!
Good luck getting the house all ready - don't envy you that job, finding energy - especially when feeling so crap - would be nearly impossible I bet!
I forget who said their hubby is a web designer... but perhaps that is a potential business venture - "Men's Oh Baby" site!
Cos yeah, I think separate forums is probably a good idea - I've noticed that a lot of woman vent about partners, or situations - and this is a good place to do that. I don't think they would if they knew their partners could see it... And vice-versa - would men really write issues/problems etc if they knew their other halves could see it?
As an aside, but kinda related, for anyone having sons, or who have sons coming up to the magic 'change years' Celia Lashlie is an amazing woman! Her book "Hell Be Okay: Growing gorgeous boys into good men" is AWESOME! I also found it helped my relationship with DP lots too - made me realise that when he doesn't answer immediately he's not ignoring me etc, he just wants time to think. A much more practical way of looking at the differences between men and woman.
Anyway, invaluable book that I intend to read a couple times more so that I know to walk beside my son when he crosses the bridge, rather than on it

That book is wicked, aye! She actually used the school I work in as part of the research etc for it. She did a parents evening here and also a staff session. A definite read for boys!
Potato, good luck on getting everything done. We sold our house and moved last preg when I was 7ish months....do not recommend it! It was stress central for a couple of weeks. Besides which you are not a lurker...you belong here

Dnenyn, how did your MW apptmt go? I had my first one this morning and she was brilliant - if any of you are looking for someone on Akld's North Shore then Debbie and Sharon are partners at Maternity Assoc and seem fabulous, I have huge confidence in them and a couple of friends have used them before and would go back (and have been back!) like a shot http://www.maternityassociates.co.nz/midwives.htm
A word of advice she gave me is to book an antenatal class asap, as they fill up so quickly. When you book they fit you in a group relevant to your EDD, which is cool cos I thought that it was way too soon and if I rang up they'd laugh at me!

I second your advice there GingerBaby about booking AN classes very soon. My coffee group all live a bit further away from me as I didn't book in time (I didn't want to rush anything after having a mc). Won't be doing classes this time though...
I was out having a wander at lunchtime & spotted a Chinese foodcourt thingy. Latest craving - wontons. They cooked them fresh for me too . I'm definitely seeing a trend here with deepfried food. Naughty naughty.

Don't ask me Ginger!! . It's probably not advised but I figured the wontons are ok because they cooked them fresh for me. I'd probably be a bit reluctant to eat anything much else from there, esp the stuff sitting in the warming thing.
Also meant to say, that's great you like your MW . When do you see her next? My MW works in a pair too & I will have my next appt with the other MW.

I 'spose the chinese have always eaten chinese food though right? ha, I agree with fresh stuff from a place you know well but my cravings for food hall sweet & sour that's been sitting in the warmer for 3 hours are ridiculous! ha, will have to add it to the rapidly growing list for DH to bring on DOB!
I see her again in a month, after nuchal scan so that's cool. feel quite confident and i know if i need to get in touch she's more than happy for me too. that's cool that your next mtg is with the other mw, good way of getting to know them both just in case! i'd rather have a familiar face poking around down there on the day!
